  1. Interesting take by some, capitalism is by far the superior economic way…how do I know? Venezuela isn’t experiencing an immigration catastrophe….for all you who do not know the USA is a republic….at the moment many manufacturers have chosen to produce goods and services in other countries…it will take legislation to change that. As long as politicians are in the pockets of people who have taken the bulk of manufacturing jobs it will not change…..our area has been Notoriously underpaid, that field is being leveled and will cost many small businesses who do not understand what is going on….want workers? Pay 3 bucks more than the next guy….you will get workers….big question is how much can you raise what you charge before you loose customers?
  2. Sorry people it’s the only fans effect, decent looking young woman can make rent selling nudes…..not lazy just found out they can make better coin….just saying
  3. Asian market hunting…they already hit our lakes for fish
  4. Just don’t f-up in Alabama! They don’t cotton to St. Louis folk
  5. Big old browns Cruse around after dark slurping up those floating calories, probably a 50 out there
  6. Because of the pandemic we will see holes in the supply chains, demand drives price, always has. Ammo is a good example, did you ever think .22 LR would be over 50 bucks for a few hundred rounds?….we are still experiencing labor shortages, for a number of reasons….as more supply gets into the system prices will drop.
  7. Got breach birth poops? Well try cow patties!
  8. They should loose up that casino money and buy it…..also it’s my understanding if you loose a war your Heritage means nothing if it offends anyone
  9. I was born and raised fishing the gulf, if you fish there eventually you get to experience rough seas…to say it’s terrifying is and understatement… I share a YouTube fishing channel I follow, jump ahead to 22:30…..
  10. Isn’t that a national scenic river?…unsure if jets are even legal there
  11. Some of those big Eddy artifacts are incredible, last I heard was they had be working even deeper and finding pre Clovis items ( controversial ATM) to think humans have occupied that area for what looks like now at least 20,000 years!……it’s cool you got to be involved… what is your opinion of those pay to dig sites in Texas or anywhere for that matter?

  14. Fish points or aquatic mammals points I have seen have been bone….many so-called arrowheads are hafted knifes….and ancient many in our area are over 8000 years old! the skill to create points/tools was something learned over time, I can imagine someone during the long bitter winters of the ice age huddled in their shelter working on them. I try and keep up with the science of paleo archaeology….we have some really interesting sites in our area…the Big Eddy site downstream from Stockton dam is an interesting one….I haven’t artifact hunted since the decline of my mobility but had a spot or to in jasper county that produced daltons regularly and a Clovis or two…..I had a female acquaintance that jacked a substantial collection I accumulated over my years afield…save a full grooved ax I have nothing, I had a tool made from mammoth ivory, some agate tools….those people picked out some wonderful materials to create with….so much more on this fascinating subject. this would be a great subject to have it own forum
  15. Way more goes on than people realize in conservation departments….it’s not all about busting poachers, and sitting around in trucks writing on a tablet…lots of good work gets done no one ever sees or will get to see…and it’s not a job people take for the money ether… #laboroflove #respect #keepupthe goodworks
  16. Sharing this from a FB post The most important message the River Rangers* try to spread: DON'T MOVE THE ROCKS. Rocks in and around rivers are important habitats for salamanders, macroinvertebrates, fish and more! In addition, when you move these rocks, you can change the flow of a stream an increase sedimentation, which may change what can survive there. This summer, we took apart more than 300 rock structures! Please refrain from moving the rocks and leave the cairns for designated trail markers. EDIT- These are pictures of us disassembling rock structures, not building them! Learn more in "The Last Dragon" by Freshwaters Illustrated. https://www.freshwatersillustrated.org/the-last-dragons * Pisgah River Rangers is an education and outreach program based in Pisgah National Forest. They are sponsored by The Pisgah Conservancy, US Forest Service, Trout Unlimited, Clemson University and Public Land Corps. This year have a American Fisheries Society Hutton Scholar working with them.
  17. I have noticed bowfins getting some love in the last few years…caught them as a kid down south in the Mobile AL drainages…grinnel is what we called them, fighters that would smash a lure. They would get over 10# regularly, definitely ruin a lure…many states giving them gamefish like protections….buddy of mine told me black river ditches in NE Arkansas we could catch all we wanted…..figure a few should be in some of or weedier waters…cool fish
  18. I agree but need a ruler or something for scale
