Colin Smith in 2013 caught a World-record carp caught twice in a week by different anglers. 100-pound, 8-ounce common carp that smashed the old world record of 75 pounds, 11 ounces, at the popular carp destination of Etang La Saussaie in the Champagne region of France. (pic1) Remarkably, the same fish, which was released after it was weighed, was caught again by John Thorpe. They surmised that the fish had just started eating again after getting released since it had lost a pound, this time weighing 99 pounds, 12 ounces. (pic 2)

Shark found in Norfork lake in Arkansas Henderson, AR – Several beaches on this lake in Arkansas have been closed due to a disturbing find in Norfork lake. Boaters and swimmers, preparing for the evening’s fireworks show were alarmed when what appeared to be a large fin cutting through the water. Arkansas Game and Fish officers were called in and were able to catch this 6 foot Bull Shark 50 yards from the swim beach. Biologists have determined that this shark probably made it’s way down from Table Rock Lake in Missouri where at least 10 sightings have been reported. With recent flooding in this part of the country it has become more easy for larger fish to escape through the overflows of the dams while releasing excess water from the reservoirs. AGFC official urge caution and recommend all boaters and campers keep a shark bite kit on hand until this has been contained. http://channel24news.com/2017/07/shark-found-in-norfork-lake-in-arkansas/

fishing around brush any bluff around that area will hold fish, use a light and fish vertical you will catch a few as well as a bonus walleye and white bass...in this warm weather put your fish on ice they will eat better just make sure they are legal size...

wow soon much to do in soon little time I have family in that area, fly fishing can be tough...a 9 weight or go home.....big streamers in the surf areas for spanish will jack you up, big streamers worker parallel to the surf area wade out no deeper than belly button on a incoming tide, if you keep fish don't string them like you see on the videos..this time of year you'll be shark bait......Jelly fish can be bad sometimes a cheap pair of stocking waders help..youll know by how many people you see in the water...grand Isle area has great fishing worth the drive... you can and will catch anything..... -
If you keep an to the weather and stay away from the main lake you should be good, that boat is a great trolling boat, stockton has tons of access, the Aldrich side is less windy and is a waterfowl reserve area that gets fished a bit less than most of the lake, get a portable weather radio (don't count on a cell phone ap) also Table rock before the weather gets warm and all the non fishing boats come out to play don't forget the tons of smaller lakes, they have better fishing http://www.stocktonlake.com/app/webroot/files/stocktonlakemap.pdf just depends WHAT you want to fish for

I understand....I enjoy fishing with good company, one reason I started the euro carp fishing, met some people at a Carp Anglers Group "Fish-In" and have made long lasting friendships...its social fishing, many times a good conversation is interrupted by a take...not everyone enjoys getting "uncomfortable" to go fishing. Had buddies I went boat fishing with many an hour in pursuit of that wall hanger Walleye, Smallie or Trout yet of all the bank fishing with Euro Gear has been my Favorite

from what I know big nymphs, corn, bread, mulberry patterns.....Tim or one of the uber tiers hear would know better than I ....I saw somewhere that held a carp fly swap people tied up their faves and they pot lucked them so all involved got a bunch of flies..perhaps an OAF Carp fly swap? If I understand how it worked let say 15 people signed up, then each would tie 15 of their best carp pattern and send them in self addressed Postal pouch etc then a volunteer would divy them up and send out..from what I can tell people had 20 or so flies each named by their creator.......

I think it was the 70's an after school special, A kid in England fished for a well catfish in a moat, a hole in a castle wall... he had to catch eels for bait...fished at night..hooks the beast and almost dies trying......that show stuck in my head.....searched Wiki on ABC after school specials unless I missed something...not one of those....
