  1. You won't be talking so darn tough once I rally the Texas Rig troops and we kick your butts back across the pond where you belong.
  2. Better pick your days carefully. A north or south wind even 10-15 mph on that lake --- especially on the lower end --- will put you in some water you don't want to try in a 17-footer.
  3. Listen to the man. The COE was his life's work. This problem is rooted at the congressional level. LOZ is a bass factory. We all love TR but it is not even in the same league. Tournaments up there generally take well above 20 pounds to win and 15 will rarely get you a check.
  4. Stop acting like a mamby-pamby liberal. The Jika rig originated in Japan and arrived here in the States without proper documentation. It's an illegal alien, cut and dried, and needs to be deported. Have we already forgotten the great spy bait debacle? They can't finish The Wall soon enough.
  5. Sign me up! I'm headed for the garage NOW.
  6. Looks like a North American Bitin' Snake to me. 😄

    Bummer

Easy breezy launching at Shell Knob bridge and the courtesy dock is pulled up and usable.
  8. I have 15-20 in the boat but never more than 4 on the deck at once. Size 15's and clumsy don't bode well for rods.
  9. That's an ugly crank bait.
  10. We will get it done soon, 96 CHAMP. Only glitch I've ever had with that motor and it had to be on a day when I had company in the boat. At least it stranded us at the ramp and not in the back 40. Turned out to be a bad coil. Fixed under warranty and now purring like a kitten.
  11. Bo, hope all goes well with Linda's procedure and that you two are back to fishing together soon.
  12. War Eagle spoons come in 7/8 and 1/2 ounce sizes.
  13. Enjoyed a relaxing day on the water with top-shelf OAF member and contributor Quillback. We had hoped to get a bit earlier start but encountered a damsel in distress at Seligman, so QB jumped on the flat tire change while I pumped gas and we were off and running in no time. Despite the delay, QB managed a 3.5-pound LM with a topwater on his VERY FIRST CAST, which some including myself consider to be a major no-no. Didn't seem to hurt, though, as he went on to boat a couple more decent fish on the TW and had another three or so come unbuttoned on the way to the boat. We hopscotched an area roughly from Campbell Point to Baxter, finding lots of fish on points. Deep bite was nonexistent for us, as nearly all of our bites came in water 1-15 feet deep. Jig ended up being the top producer, although fish were also landed on a shaky head and spinnerbait. Ended the day at 2 p.m. with 24 total, of which 12 were keeps for a solid .500 batting average. Best five right at 15 pounds.
  14. 🤣
  15. Find a friend with a boat and ask him to go directly to Beardsley Branch. Best spot on the lake hands-down.
  16. Incredibly nice of you to share such detail. Just bear in mind that some do not practice CPR and that you might be drawing a map for the meat hogs. Lots of drive-by traffic here. Again, great day and congrats.
  17. Yes and it's gonna get a workout tomorrow. 😃
  18. Good informative report. Thanks for posting.
  19. You guys go ahead and throw all of those crappy old Fins my way. 😎
  20. I'm with Dave. Pretty meanmouth. Love those vertical bars on it.
  21. I'm confused. If you ran up from Eagle Rock, you were going toward Holiday Island, not Big M. For you guys struggling to get a Fin to run right, there are steps you can take to help immensely. Use the search feature within this TR forum and you'll find them.
  22. To whomever asked which flutter spoon Babler prefers, it is the Dixie Jet. He asked me to relay that information since he's having temporary trouble getting onto the forum since the server change.
  23. Thanks, C4F, for a great post and especially for including our police and firefighters. In my book, they deserve the same recognition as our military serving at home and abroad. Mostly, though, may God's peace and comfort fall on the families and friends of those who gave all, including the family of the deputy in Mississippi killed this weekend. For gosh sakes, this guy did puppet shows for kids when he wasn't chasing after bad guys. Blessings to all OAFers today and enjoy your time off ... just please take a moment to remember the reason.
  24. On the other hand, there is quite a "fat impact" when I land.
