This spring we should go change that.

They are liars.

I do believe that a guy who used to participate more on the forum still holds the white bass on a fly rod world record. Think Mr. Doty was in the boat when it happened.

Take that sucker to the salt so you can see how bad your drag sucks and see where your backing is attached to the reel.

There have been times when I would go Iaconelli when I lost a good fish. Then something happened and now I find it hysterical for some reason. Me and my dad were fishing Fork and it was late in the day. We had caught a bunch of good fish and decided to hit my favorite bank one last time before heading in. The wind was blowing harder that the trolling motor could handle so dad fires up the big motor and basically pushes me up the bank while I stood in the front and casted. I wound up that rattletrap and made a big long cast. Maybe retrieved it 20 feet when a huge bass tried to take my rod away. After a crazy fight I was able to get it up next to the boat. Wind still blowing like crazy. No way to move the boat. Dad grabs the net and tries to get it up under this monster. He of course misses and as he goes in after it again the rattletrap gets caught up in the net and pops it free. I just rolled over on my back and had a laughing fit. Because it was seriously the most idiotic thing I had ever witnessed. We both laughed like crazy. And then we went and ate the biggest steaks we could find. That fish was well into the double digits. And while I would have loved to have held it, or even turn it over to their share a lunker program, I cherish that memory even more. And listening to my dad tell the story over and over again back at the lodge was something I will never forget. Seemed the more people he told the funnier it was to me.

Geez you are like a 15 year old girl! its very easy to do though. I like those notifications. Helps remind me there are better things to be doing.

We ain’t talking about conventional gear we are saying that very few fly fishing methods are lazy. It would be much easier to use a spinning rod on the beach but I always go with the fly rod when possible.
-
Or spend a day chasing smallmouth with Trigg. Ain’t nothing lazy about that. Or I can wear your posterior out in a few hours walking a beach. Maybe roll casting to a trout is lazy? But it’s still fun too.

I hate feral cats or the neighbors cats or whatever. Not only do they kill birds they also dig and crap everywhere, destroy plants, drive the dog crazy, use the deck furniture for scratching post. Rocks, dogs, BB guns, small dishes of antifreeze.....whatever it takes. I keep my dog in my yard. All you have to do is keep your cat out of it.

It’s not that they don’t know it but sometimes they get wrapped up in their own store and don’t realize the big picture. I bring them to our corporate HQ in Raleigh and make sure they realize that the things they sell have to pay for not only their store but all of that too. And I have to make sure they understand the value in that. But I think you would be surprised at how little most people in business know so little about things like that. It’s why a lot of them don’t last.

I train store managers from all over the country. I explain the same thing to them. The profit from sales is what pays for EVERYTHING. You would be surprised how many light bulbs come on when they hear that. Immediately changes their outlook on what they are doing.

What are your fishing goals for 2019??

Hey that’s exactly the same number I did last year. -

Goals? I've been thinking about this a bunch since I saw it started but really have no idea. Get in better shape. Is that a fishing goal? Well heck yeah it is. Not that it's something that keeps me from going or doing anything but I hit the big FIVE-O in 2019 and I'm starting to figure out I'm not in my early twenties any mo. Buy a new camera body. Again it's probably not what most would consider a fishing goal but I do. Get my wife in a kayak. Been talking about it for a couple of years but it happens this year. Not even an option anymore. I didn't camp on a river in 2018. That BS is going to change this coming year. Catch some fish, tell some lies, have some fun. Maybe even some of you will let me tag along. Any of you are free to tag along with me anytime. -
We have turned Christmas into a competition. Not only is it about how much you do it's also about who get's it all done first. Capitalism at it's finest. My wife and I are not exchanging any gifts this year. Our only plans are to spend the day with our daughters and just have some fun.

I'm sure that many of us would make the sacrifice if it would help you reach your goal. Just let us know. -
I’ve seen Smokey and the Bandit once and Jaws three times this year alone. I need a life.

Nice job. Pat had to show you how to do it but it looks like you caught on quick. You have to have some Megabass. Those river fish love them too.
-
Mine would be somewhere around zero lately. But I'm only fishing the rivers these days and usually only in the spring. Been many years since I spent a lot of time on the lake. But when I did I don't think I considered it rare. I I fished a lot of main lake secondary point stuff up around the dam always chasing a smallmouth but was never surprised to catch nice spots.

No wait, we can't have all that dog ignorance in one place. We tried that when you and Jason both brought your new pups. I was already nursing my broken back and barely able to hold a jack and coke when Orion decided the best place to be was in my lap. I spilled that drink all over me but hurt too much to get up and go change. Then Jason shows up with Streamer and things really got out of hand. They had fun though. That was January 2015 by the way. Never made a cast that weekend but I took one of my all time favorite photos on that trip.

Isn't every great dog?

Yep. I could see him going home with pretty much anyone. He was a very friendly pup.

We are about the same. Our iTunes accounts are tied together so I get what she gets and she gets what I do. Luckily we like most of the same stuff.
