  1. Or maybe they didn't screw up at all. Maybe they just felt that they had him on the hook long enough, toss in a couple of extras. They seem to be a pretty good group of people.
  2. It probably would be best to read it online but I have a couple of problems with that. One, I actually hate reading books and magazines online. Or on a kindle or anything else and I have tried a lot of different ones. I want to have the book or paper or magazine in my hand if at all possible. The other reason, a more important reason, is that if I only read it online then none of my kids will probably see it. But if I leave it laying on the coffee table then I know that each of my daughters will eventually pick it up. And then if it lays there long enough my wife will take it to the doctors office she works at and hopefully some kid there will get a chance to read it.
  3. Sometimes you find one of those sweet spots and they just produce like that year after year. I've found several spots like that on Pomme and they always produced fish. Maybe not always a fish that you wanted to weigh but something was always home. One of these spots was very small. Just the tip of a secondary point. It always has at least one keeper on it if you needed it. But it wouldn't produce much more than that. I found a little spot while fishing a flat one day. It was a small tournament and we were doing pretty good throwing small crankbaits on that flat between where the creek channel turned out and an old road bed. Probably a hundred yard stretch of 2 ft water. As the bite slowed we wandered a little past the road bed. it got shallower at first and then all of a sudden dropped to 15 ft. It was like a little old pond right up against a little bluff. Maybe 20 yards across. We already had a small limit but that spot on that day put away any one else's chances of beating us. It doesn't always hold fish but it's crazy good when it does. And nobody ever goes down that bank because it's just an old shallow blank flat. Sometimes I miss those days in my early twenties thinking I ruled the lake. Don't wanna go back though, just glad I survived it the first time.
  4. Hey that's what I do!
  5. I saw a post on FB the other day from Field and Stream about cooking bass on a cedar plank. Bet the foodies here would love that. Note: I do not have a link. It was on FB. If you want to see it go look it up.
  6. Geez how many times we gonna beat this dead bass....errrr...horse. Last time I stood up for those that choose to keep fish. And I would do it again if they weren't the ones starting childish bullshit. You know it's not popular so why come on here starting a bunch of crap. AGAIN. True ignorance, it's the new American way. What ever happened to live and let live. Did the government make that illegal too?

    What's Cooking?

A gas grill is only convenient if you have one. I got rid of my last one 6 or 7 years ago and haven't missed it. Yeah the coals take a little longer but it's all part of the process and you just get used to it. We still cookout at least 2 or 3 times a week.
  8. Most can't.
  9. That's cool. I grew up in Marlow.
  10. Yep it works in Oklahoma. Watched my dad catch a lot of fish on it on Lake Lawtonka. Some big white bass included. This was back in the late 1970's. All this talk about the Ned has been reminding me of how good he would of been at fishing it. Yeah he wasn't using a mushroom head back in those days, nor elaztech, but he fished it the same way and caught a lot of fish doing it.
  11. I call those people dipshits. I have "friends" that are like that. I feel they are poorer than me.

    What's Cooking?

But did you catch a fish from there this morning? See I'm always one step ahead. And I didn't have to buy an over priced princess dress on my way.

    What's Cooking?

I made some mediocre baked spaghetti tonight. Wasn't even picture worthy. But the view from the kitchen was.
  14. Sad deal. I never met him but enjoyed his reports. Seemed like a good man. RIP Jim.
  15. Holy cow that's awesome. That last picture is perfect. So what were the GPS coordinates to mom's pond?

    What's Cooking?

Is Amber wearing a scarf or a towel? I can understand a towel before digging into that but it's a little warm for a scarf. But I've got one and I know how they are about fashion.
  17. That's a lie. I live close to a road where they routinely have sobriety check points. They can do whatever they want.
  18. You may be planning on it but I don't think you are floating this weekend. Sucks I know but they are expecting a lot of rain. Better safe than dead. Call one of the canoe outfitters before making the 4 hour drive.
  19. Well that's not saying a whole lot. My dog would be a better President than any of them. At least her decisions wouldn't be made for financial gain. You think Wrench hates cops? That is mild compared to how I feel about politicians.
  20. I do agree with that.
  21. My business would appreciate it if all of you would start having more automobile collisions. Nothing major, don't want anyone hurt and a totaled vehicle does nothing for me. Just some good whacks that require a body shop. Thanks for your help.
  22. If you are unloading at the Wheatland ramp and night fishing then you shouldn't have to go far. I probably wouldn't even try to start the big motor until it was time to put it back on the trailer. That's a good area to night fish.
  23. Comparing DC, like you would find on a boat, to lightning is like comparing a hot wheel to a top fuel dragster. There is no comparison. With lightning everything is a conductor. It's going to ground period. And there is nothing that is going to stop that.
  24. I learned it by watching you. Just kidding, just kidding, relax, I'm sorry. You are passionate about things and I am passionate about things and sometimes those things collide. I was an butt. I'm sure it will happen again. Your statement isn't wrong. Very hypocritical of me. I apologize.
