  1. Maybe somebody has it confused with this one? He will also share fish population characteristics expected on Stockton Lake in 2014. Ages 12 and up. Registration begins February 1. Call 417-888-4237.
  2. Looks tasty.
  3. There's a lot worse going on down there. See it every day.
  4. Al you say a lot of smart things but occasionally you say something really dumb too. What happened to just letting everyone do it their way? Your way works for you, I'm okay with that. I however like to stand. I'm not so ignorant that I go floating down a river trying to stand in a canoe but when I get a chance I like to stretch my legs. For those of you that think it's so difficult then give it a try, it doesn't take that long to get the hang of it. Or you can just sit down and fish. I have no problems with you doing that.
  5. Sounds like a great place. The only thing I will add is that many people look to find a place that is shaded in the afternoon. It's comfortable to setup camp in the shade and just relax. But They fail to take into consideration where the sun will be in the morning. If it's early spring then your suggestion is great. Nice warming morning sun drying off the tent and warming the body. If it's the middle of summer then that same location will be miserable. Packing up while the sun is blazing down on you sucks, it can get really warm, really fast. And if you have planned on fixing a big breakfast........well all I will say is enjoy that. I have found a couple that I would say are the best gravel bar campsites that you could ever find. One on the Buffalo and one on the Eleven Point.
  6. Yep I would rather stand and feel much more confident when I can.
  7. Sorry guys I had a little hold up but my army of frogs are in the mail.
  8. What's wrong with a business venture? I make darn good pizza. But sometimes I don't want to screw with it so I order one. Should the pizza place give it to me because I can make one better than them?
  9. That would be scary. Breathables with separate boots get heavy but they won't pull you down.
  10. I've rolled a canoe a couple of times while in waders. Both times were a hell of a lot easier/better than falling out of a bass boat in freezing temps. I think that old tale about waders dragging you under is BS. Actually I know it is.
  11. They were standing outside a Nascar race I went to last year making little kids hold signs that said "God hates fags". They need a better purpose in life.
  12. Scum of the earth. I don't typically hate people but I make an exception for these assholes. Hope they rot in hell, the sooner the better.
  13. Looks like fun.
  14. You would not be allowed to make anything like Blazing Saddles or All in the Family today. There's lots of talent out there but unfortunately the world wants to watch crap.
  15. I wish they wouldn't do it. Too many good companies turn into horrible companies when they go public. I'm just glad that I work for a huge privately held company that will never go public.
  16. Here's one, but Jack is right on, lots of info on here. Need to go back and re-read some of it myself.
  17. He talks in a weird hillbilly code sometimes. Especially when he has a couple of shots for breakfast. What are you talking about Wrench?
  18. From what I can find on The Moxie's website this film is only being shown on Saturday, Feb 8th at 2pm. This film is sponsored by the Springfield Nature center and is FREE. Call 888-4237 to reserve your spot as seats are limited. Adults only. This film is not rated. http://www.moxiecinema.com/films/low-and-clear/
  19. Yeah it might be good. I enjoyed the ones I read but they all said the same thing. Let us know how it is. I need something good to read.
  20. I'm like Quil, I like to read stuff. But there are no good books on flyfishing for bass and I've read a bunch. At least not since I looked last and just gave up. I'll be honest and say that this was several years ago. But most of it is either a long advertisement for something they want to push on you or it's a trout fisherman that writes a bass fishing book. According to them you only need a standard popper, a sneaky pete, a wooly bugger and a clouser, oh oh oh probably a sculpin pattern, don't forget that, And you will need a 9' 6wt. It's the only thing that will work. And in a lot of ways they are right. All these items will catch you some smallies, but what do you do when you get bored with a bunch of 10 inch fish? You start thinking about it from the bass fishing world and try to merge them together. That's when you will find good success. Lots of good information around here. Read, ask, apply. That's all it takes...........oh and an 8 or 9wt rod.
  21. I love that! I don't hunt anymore and never did really hunt with dogs so I might be the wrong one to be making comments about hunting dogs, but no matter what a dog has to be part of the family. How anyone can treat them like a tool is beyond me.
  22. Pretty places out there in NC. Not going to be the same in KC.
  23. Ha! Been there, done that. It don't have to be pretty just has to catch a fish.

Oh I know what you said and what he said but the article says something different. That's why I mentioned it.

Well if you read the article it doesn't say that they ARE going to close it. It just says that they would like to discuss it and maybe get somebody besides the CORP to take it over.
