  1. In high school one of our friends was a competitive water ski jumper. It didn't snow very often that far south in Oklahoma, but one freezing winter we got a few inches. In what had to be the coolest thing to see from the outside, we got pulled over by the police for pulling a skier behind a car. It's a good thing it was small town Oklahoma.
  2. I had that same thought.
  3. I've only used under an indicator. But I think they are really popular in the Euro world, that I really know nothing about. I ran across the patterns while building a list of flys to travel West.
  4. Niangua/Bennett I plan on showing them to some Crane rainbows and Yellowstone Cutts in 2026.
  5. Been playing with some of these. The one day that I have used them on the river they produced fish better than other things I tried. These are all size 14.
  6. I had a buddy get ahold of one while we were noodling in a small creek. We were in high school. He said I’ve got a catfish by the head. He’s got both hands in the water, and it’s Oklahoma so water clarity is near zero. He pulls it up and has this snapper by the head. Well he drops it immediately and we both go screaming out of the water like a couple of girls. We ran across that same turtle later in the day. It had crawled up on the bank and was almost dead. It was sick and that’s why my buddy didn’t lose any digits.
  7. Thanks Griz!
  8. Finally back to this cork. It’s probably a cheap one. Bartenura Moscato I’m not a big wine guy. I like it and have some sometimes when they buy it but they usually like things that are way too sweet to me. I’ll just take an old fashioned or a cup of coffee please.
  9. ahhh, look at him smile while that nice man holds him.
  10. You do all that microfishing so that's what the fish gods thought you wanted. That thing is all tail!
  11. It's just a flesh wound.
  12. Two totally different ways of looking at it. Neither is wrong. Neither is what I would probably do. Getting in a rut is easy to do. I found myself in one several years ago and I think I'm just now coming out of it and finding a renewed drive in fishing. Not that I haven't always gone, but it got stale somehere and while I still did it, I wasn't working to change anything, or be any better. Trips planned for the future has created a lot of new drive. Not only am I looking forward to what is to come, I'm also more interested in the fishing I'm doing locally. It's brought everything around except my bank account. I used to be a lot different. I had to catch every fish. There was no time to take a break. There was no time for lunch. You just fished. And I had to catch the most and the biggest. I would be the best out there. Now I just want to catch one fish. I don't really care what it is or how big it is. Catch one and you are succesful. Then I feel free to do whatever I want. Catch more. Try new things. Take some pics. Or just sit and watch the world go by.
  13. I sent you a message with my address
  14. You guys are killing me. Already have a fishing trip booked for the weekend before. I’m going to try to make it one day. If anyone has a boat seat for a large camera man let me know.

    What's Cooking?

You had me at hotdog casserole.
  16. I don't remember but to be fair you piss and moan about a lot of stuff! 😄 We need to meet up at the river soon and we can piss and moan about it together.
  17. Good luck to you guys. I hope you all have a great time.
  18. That is the sad, sad truth.
  19. No idea. It was a leftover from Thanksgiving. I’ll be back in a couple of days and I’ll take a closer look.
  20. These have been working lately.
  21. She got a gimp fin, but she was fat, angry and ready to fight. It’s always interesting meeting fish that impress you.
  22. That’s a hard no for me.
  23. Look at Grundens. They have some stuff in that price range. I recently ordered waders from them and was able to get 10% off just for giving them an email address.

    What's Cooking?

Our Thanksgiving dinner is Saturday. That gave me time to make one of my childhood favorites. The recipe is in my mom’s handwriting. I remember the day she wrote it down for me. We thought we had lost it but my wife took the kitchen apart to find it. And I cooked it in my wife’s Grandmother’s pan. I hope nothing bad happens to it and a gallon of milk before morning. It’s the gooiest, stickiest, sweetest thing you ever put under ice cream. Delicious cold. And healthy too!
