  1. Here yah go jeb. Mswp has a searchable database for registered regattas by lake/month/year. I tried to cut and paste specifics, but it wouldn't let me....so here's the user friendly link.:-) - http://www.mshp.dps.mo.gov/WP04Web/app/searchRegattaWeb?action=Search+Again - Looks like there's a few going on; but I think babler (i think it was bill?) brought up a good point one time; about how table rock will easily swallow up several hundred tourney boats; and not to worry. Which is a good point.:-)
  2. Woowee! That's a heckuva fish!:-)
  3. Great report sir!......and thanks for the pix.......love 'em!
  4. - Run this thread into the ground Dave; post some pix!:-).......I'd love to see them myself.:-)
  5. Very nice report sir; and great pix!......getting into those whites on the James is a hoot!.......way to regroup and find the windblown bank to put something together too.:-)
  6. Cool pix trout! That bow fishing is a heckuva good time; sadly, I dont have much time anymore for it. :-(
  7. Great thread indeed Gavin!:-)........glad my info posted wasn't just Internet 'lore'.........very cool story RPS!:-) - Love that peanut butter color too troutgnat..........and I'm with you too mixermark, I LOVE me some purple on my Warts too!(okay........that sounded gross:-P) - And from the sounds of it; I wonder if the 'new' warts could be turned into 'old' warts with a bandsaw and a few odd sized/material pellets. Saw one right down the middle, add a few odd sized BB's/pellets, glue/epoxy it back together...........okay............this sounds weird too.........I need some sleep!(hahaha)
  8. A bit off topic; but I thought this was interesting. - I'm not one for Internet 'lore', but I read this on another message board about the old Warts, and it seemed pretty logical? Sounds like too tight a quality control and consistency may have taken away from the 'mystique' of the old Warts, since Rapala came along. - "So I have sat down here and talked to a few guys who have been here longer than I have to try and figure out what the deal is with the different materials and colors. It looks like a big part of the “attraction” to the old wiggle warts was the variety of materials that they used back in the day. We have literally cut apart and analyzed hundreds of old originals and the most consistent thing that can be said about them is that they were incredibly inconsistent. The pre-Rapala Storm company was notorious for using whatever plastic, split rings, rattles, and hooks they could get a deal on at the time so it’s really hard to pin down exactly what combination is the magic one. We have cut apart lures out of the same inner pack box and found different sizes and number of steel balls inside of them as well as different clips and split rings." - The few original warts I have all seem to be pretty inconsistent in materials too. Maybe there's something to this?
  9. Congrats Champ!....... well played sir..........and thanks for the write-up, good read:-)..........proof positive, it pays to tread where others won't dare.:-)
  10. Lots of great info above; and I know this has been mentioned before.......but it may be worth seriously considering hiring a great guide from the boards here, for a few hours. - Take it from someone who fished the Rock for years; and always scoffed at the idea of hiring a guide. Until my stubborn side gave way to my more realistic side; and I'm glad it did!.......wished I would have done it years prior and saved myself countless hours/days of struggling on the water. It really may be a great idea with the little guy with you!:-)
  11. Thanks for the heads up exiled. Wife, I and kids stayed there last fall. VERY nice place that was family friendly; were definitely going back a few times this year........and that's saying something.......my wife is not easily impressed.:-)
  12. Can you pull the engine history for any stored codes?
  13. Welcome aboard Gary!........Be sure and grab a couple OAF decals for your boat/car. It's a great, easy way to meet each other at a distance.:-) - http://lilleystacklestore.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16939&cat=280&page=1
  14. This is purely a personal preference for me; but I use the high visibility (bright yellow) super lines; with a 20+ foot leader of Fluoro. It casts a mile with no memory, but I still get the benefits of clear line. And the length of leader allows me to retire as needed throughout the day without re-tying a new leader. I like the high viz line to see those subtle movements in the line.:-)
  15. - I've heard nothing but great things about the Sunline Sniper, haven't picked any up yet; but did grab some Seaguar Tatsu to try.......hope it loves up to its reputation.......and price!
  16. - I was VERY apprehensive dropping down to that size myself, but all I can say is just give it try. It really forces you to know where your drag is set. - I'm not much of a fan of Bassmaster magazine anymore; but I happened to read the cover article by Aaron Martens this month about drop shotting; and found it very interesting. He talks about even using 4 lb test in clear water..........I haven't gotten that brave yet!:-) - (Sorry to stray a bit off topic:-)
  17. - Nope........but I get a LOT more bites on 6 lb Fluoro on spinning gear on the finesse stuff:-).........just loosen that drag and tire them out. Sure you may lose a few going that light, but I feel like I make up for a lost fish with more bites.
  18. Congrats indeed......I'd be thrilled with those sacks in this weather. - Not looking for any secrets; but I'm always curious what guys are throwing in weather like this?........I have some thoughts, but I always like to see if I have a clue.(lol)
  19. It stands to reason the thing would work. I've been intrigued by the concept since this type of product came on the market. I know I've seen a lot of research over the years regarding saltwater baitfish, and predators feeding increasing, because of the sounds given off by the frenzy. - Watch and listen at about the 50 second mark.......interesting stuff.:-) - - Now I'm waiting for water sprayers for a bassboat to become affordable. Then my co-angler and I can wear hardhats as we flip the tons of fish in the boat!(lol)
  20. My old 86 Basscat was heavily clouded when I got it; and a goodly amount of wet sanding and buffing got it to shine again. - Before getting too intimidated; try a few of the worse spots by hand first; to see if you want to bother getting into it with the buffer. - 3M has some good fiberglass specific compounds that are very user friendly. Pretty common stuff most boat dealers carry. Just find a bottle and put some in a clean rag; then fire up your elbow, shoulder and back and get to rubbing in a circular motion. After a few minutes your arm should start begging for mercy, that's a good time to stop, wipe, then wash all the compound off the spot you tried and put some wax on it in the same procedure. You might be pleasantly surprised! - If you like the results on the several spots you tried; then take the buffer route. It goes much faster that way. But the ole buffer will cut deep, quick. Just be careful........and keep us posted!
  21. Welcome back Troy!.......the lakemaster vs. navionics question will be one to watch. :-)
  22. Beautiful boat Champ!......love the colors. Very classy. Congrats.:-)
  23. A couple seasons ago I bought the BPS knockoffs in the mid-weight and they are VERY warm!.......the key is having good wind proof outerwear on.......then they do a great job! - And for the record.......blue jeans are poor wind proof outerwear.(Hahahaha!)........don't ask me how I know.:-P - I thought about getting the warmer stuff; but much colder temps; and my dern hands get too numb fishing anyway.......which takes the fun out of it for me.:-(
  24. Great read bill!......keep us posted what develops today.:-)
  25. I didn't see a pic bill......not sure if it didn't come through?
