  1. I hate pretty much everything about the point and look style of fishing. It's been called "video game fishing" for a while now when it was just 2D sonar and guys drop-shotting 20+ years ago. But now it truly is video game fishing glued to the screen 100% of the time and selecting a fish to target. Only looking up to make sure you aren't running someone over. Just go buy an Oculus for $400. It's cheaper than buying a boat, gear, tackle and gas.
  2. At least better than the Olympics. No doubt.
  3. BMC starts Friday morning. This is your reminder to get those lineups set. Good luck! If interested in coverage on TV: Bassmaster LIVE is on FOX Saturday morning and FS1 Sunday morning! 8:00 a.m. to noon ET both days. LIVE Mix will be shown here during those times. Bassmaster.com March 4, 2022 8am - 3pm Bassmaster LIVE Bassmaster.com March 5-6, 2022 12pm - 3pm Bassmaster LIVE FOX March 5, 2022 8am - 12pm Bassmaster LIVE FS1 March 6, 2022 8am - 12pm Bassmaster LIVE
  4. I know you're good for it and you just forgot. I'm glad you didn't just so I had the chance to poke fun at you.
  5. Ladies and Gents, We have 20 total participants which makes the prize pool a total of $200 even. Will pay out the top 3 spots in Tackle Warehouse Gift Cards at the end of the year: 1st = $100 2nd = $60 3rd = $40 All but 2 people have paid entry fee. Coincidentally it's the guy currently in 1st and the other is next to last. So thanks to those that have paid so I can have my unsaid cove security personnel paid through the bed fishing season when it's needed most to fend off trespassers. **Side note** Bassmaster Classic on Hartwell kicks off in about a week and a half. Don't let it sneak up on you and get your teams set.
  6. Just a heads up that the next tournament is already this week on Harris Chain. Don't let is sneak up on you and forget to set your lineups. -Guy at the bottom
  7. Scoot over and make room for me down there. I also stink.
  8. Last call to join the Ozark Anglers BASS Fantasy Fishing League for 2022. We have 16 ladies and gents signed up and paid thus far. Season starts this THURSDAY. For those already signed up don't forget to get your rosters set BEFORE THURSDAY MORNING LAUNCH. $10 bucks gets you in for the whole season and keeps you somewhat entertained throughout the year. Also kinda keeps you up to date on what guys are throwing at particular times of the year, on various bodies of water across the country and how they catch fish. New techniques. New tackle. New gear. Etc. Might just learn a thing or two from some of the best in the world. Good luck to everyone.
  9. It definitely gets you a steep discount.
  10. False. I know exactly what the fish are doing every time out based on seasonal patterns. I have a proven track record of knowing exactly where they aren't and a true master of fishing dead water with a 95% unsuccessful rate.
  11. Happy belated b-day, Bill. Thinking of selling your place? Say it ain't so neighbor!
  12. You only see that benefit card show up in the mail if you pay "The Cove That Shalt Not Be Named" annual dues. Which is why the card hasn't hit your mail box yet.
  13. Thanks to all 15 members who have signed up. Still have just over a week for anyone else who'd like to join.
  14. Another bump. Up to 11 guys entered but that is still about half what we had last year. First Elite event starts in just about 3 weeks from today. If interested you have until then to sign up.
  15. Only 9 guys entered so far. Come on gents! Makes watching the BASS events either on TV or on Live Steam during the tournament more enjoyable (or frustrating depending on who you picked).
  16. The golf thing is the most egregious of those infractions. But at this point Branson is fast-tracking itself as a national or even global golf destination now. So that said, prices will reflect having the luxury of playing his courses and even the surrounding that aren't owned by JM. Cheap golf around Branson will cease to exist unless it's a complete goat track. Which then will be bought out by JM. Eventually.
  17. Damiki rig jig head. Kinda pricey for what they are but Bill has made up that cost and then some by betting against Mizzou to not cover the spread in both football and basketball. He now has more money than Johnny Morris as a result.
  18. Hey, last year you were in it all year then folded at the end like a cheap lawn chair. This is YOUR YEAR!
  19. Ladies and Gents, Registration has started a little early this year. As of writing this only 64 days til the first Elite event! Seems like the $10 up front entry fee we did the last two seasons has been a success and people find it fair and worthwhile. Everyone got their payments to me rather quickly last year which was nice for me and hope that is the case again this year. PayPal is still preferable as that is the easiest method for most, including me. I can also do Venmo as an option. If you don't have either of those payment systems then I can accept cash through the mail if you are willing to take on that risk of mailing cash (I am not dealing with checks). I would take no liability in money lost in the mail. League entry fee is due by the start of the first tournament on 2/11. If you have not paid by that time then you will not be eligible to win prizes in the league even if you continue to participate in filling out rosters every event. Once you have signed up for the league the payment information is on that message board. Or you can directly PM me here on Ozark Anglers. The prizes will be in the form of Tackle Warehouse gift cards at various values. The value of those gift cards will be determined on interest and amount of people that join the league. The payout will scale accordingly from 1st prize to an agreed upon (by the league majority) last winning place. Example: 25 entries x $10 = $250 in pot TW Gift Cards 1st - $100 2nd - $75 3rd - $50 4th - $25 - Something along these lines. To sign up go here: https://bassmasterfantasy.com/ For those of you new to fantasy fishing its very simple and requires very little effort or skill. The only thing you need to do is FILL OUT A TEAM EVERY WEEK there is an event. You forget or miss one tournament event then it is hard to compete for prizes as it is nearly impossible to make up those lost points. See above link for more info. Please register your name AS THE SAME NAME/HANDLE you have here on Ozark Anglers as it's easier for everyone to identify each other. To join the league find the OZARK ANGLERS group I've created after you've registered an account. It is marked as private as to not let a bunch of people into the league. Group name: OZARK ANGLERS Password: smallmouth Please respond here on this thread for those that plan to participate so I can get an idea of how many will be joining. BASS will have a couple of faces back like JPow and everyone's favorite lake loudmouth, Mike Ike. Thanks and good luck this year.
  20. Did you try just fishing off your dock? That usually works.
  21. Our lawn doesn't have any grass to spare with thousands of newly acquired "Cove Commandos" trampling it all down. Time to have a meeting with Unsaid Cove Members and see if we can't raise the Defense Debt Ceiling to get the things that we need to protect this cove that is the Opal of the Ozarks.
  22. Thank you for the donation. The dock is in need of some repairs and with the cost of lumber every bit helps. You're a good man. Alex on the other had is all take and no give. Guy owes for about 7 years in back taxes or "membership fees" to Unsaid Cove. For the rest of you, if you appreciate using Unsaid Cove, the tip jar is in plain sight on the dock. Don't be stingy. Due to the lack of donations this year I had to cut back on "Defense Spending". I friggin' had to resort to buying some slightly used and damaged Blackhawks, AK-47s without triggers, foggy night-vision goggles and tanks missing a tread or two from the recent weapons cache that the Taliban somehow acquired.
