  1. Oh yeah. Real good. Boil'em just like the cajun's do and they are great. Lil' garlic butter....mmmmmmm.
  2. Hopefully this link works for everyone, including people who aren't on Facebook. I couldn't find a direct link on Youtube or Wired2Fish with the video and had to do it straight from Facebook. According to the video it was recorded on Table Rock yesterday (says October 20th but he said he mistakenly said that and meant Nov. 20th).
  3. That's an eater. You'd be surprised on how many of those there are in the lake. Every now and then in the summer we will set out traps for them and get always get a few that size every night. We usually set our trap in about 15 feet of water in the dock slip to get'em.
  4. I think the turds left at the scene are the thank you note?
  5. Have 2 great uncles that live on BSL. One in Protem on the MO side and one in Peel on the AR side. Need to get over there more often.
  6. Looked at the Missouri Regatta and there are no large tournaments the rest of the month, or rest of the year for that matter. When I was down this past weekend pretty much had the dam area to myself which is a first. Only saw a handful of bass rigs running around both days. I was the only idiot at the 86 ramp when I launched on Saturday morning and only one other moron was at the ramp when I pulled out on Sunday afternoon.

    Boat

Funny I've seen him doing the same thing to his crankbait box.
  8. I think it's fairly close. The shad and minnows SEEM to want to be pushing back into creeks.
  9. Last couple of years I've had success on jerkers as well starting in early to mid November. Didn't get a sniff on it. There was just nothing suspended anywhere that I could see. Granted I didn't look any further out that 35 feet because I'm not much of a tree top drop shotter or spooner. Not gonna find me in 90 feet of water dropping a spoon down 40 feet into the tree tops. But typically I will run across something suspended in that 15-35 foot range SOMEWHERE. Nada. Based on this last weekend they are out deep or just glued to the bottom waiting for this stupid weather to make up it's mind. I did see some areas further back in pockets and creeks that had whatever those small minnows are that flip themselves all over on the surface. Also saw quite a bit of big gizzards on main lake gravel points and pockets busting surface. Tried throwing into them with various baits from top to bottom and every water column in between.....again...NADA. The fish that I did catch over the weekend were really healthy. None of them spit up any meals so not sure what they were feeding on.
  10. Not much to say other than it was brutal. Cold front rolled in, bluebird skies, lack of wind.....Table Rock's version of a kick to the groin. Caught very few fish and ZERO keepers in 2 days of fishing. Absolutely no pattern to anything and could not locate ANYTHING on the graph in anything less than 35 feet of water. Best bite (if you can even say that) was on shakeyhead worms but had to have timber targets. If it was a bare bank it was barren of fish. Also swam a swimjig with paddle tail trailer and had one on that and some short strikes but again had to be near wood. Most consistent bite was on steep 45 degree or shelf/ledge banks that had to be on the shade side of the lake. Just flat out awful but that's fishin'. Tried various cranks from 5-20 feet in craw and shad patterns both, ploppers, double ploppers, buzzbaits, football jigs, shakeyheads, spoons, lipless, jerkbaits, swimjigs and spinnerbaits. We covered it all and royally stunk it up. I'm sure someone caught'em but it wasn't us. For those of you that went into the woods this past weekend instead of into the water...... or......................
  11. Jig/wobblehead, buzzer/plopper or spinnerbait out the back. Or a deeper crank out the other side of the boater hitting the deeper zone he isn't.
  12. I saw that. Rigged upside down...probably just to screw with peoples head. Wonder how many of them left out the bait they really did best with.
  13. Probably will get more views here than on the Sell/Swap boards. Great looking jigs, especially for the price.
  14. That is Dwayne Batey's company (not sure if he is full owner or partial). He used to be a top notch custom painter out of Siloam Springs. Used to be called BaitWerks custom bait painting. About a year or two ago he quit that full time and devoted all his efforts to only painting for Skirmish baits. Had him do a handful of pre-rap wiggle warts for me about 5 years ago. Man is a talent with the airbrush no doubt.
  15. Amen.
  16. I don't think that is a real sale. That color in an unopened box go for like $40-50 bucks. I think sometimes the sellers buddies bid stuff up to see if any idiot will just outbid them at an outrageous price well beyond the normal going rate. Then they don't make their buddies pay if they win the auction obviously and just relist it. But yeah, some colors like the SP's going for stupid $.
  17. I liked the one older gentleman that said something to the effect that "he is going to fish how he likes to fish (shallow) and if he doesn't catch'em then he doesn't". Not sure how he well he typically finishes in tournaments but that doesn't sound like a recipe for success.
  18. Thanks for the link Quill. Watched an extra video they had up as well and none of them sounded optimistic about the weights being worth a crap. But we already knew that as it's been tough for 3-4 weeks now with just the reports here on the boards. 35lbs or less might win this deal. These out of town'er shallow guys are in for a treat. The spoon'ers and drop shot'ers will probably do the best. I would bet someone from out West familiar with those finesse or deep water presentations will win. That or a more local person that isn't too proud to get off the bank.
  19. Warts only dive about 10 feet max.....no lure retriever? I RARELY ever lose a crank unless it is over 20 feet deep or is really tangled up in a cedar.
  20. http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2fish/story/1723288-peak-rock-capital-acquires-lew-s-fishing Don't have the full details but looks like Lew's has been, at least in part, bought by a mid market equity firm.
  21. Not arguing with their logic or yours. Was just stating, from my non-tournament fisherman perspective, that it amazes me that they would want to sacrifice that amount of time running instead of fishing.
  22. Yep 3 days. Will be interesting to see what part of the lake the winners focused on and if they get their fish deep or shallow. From take off at State Park to way up the White is a heck of a run, at least in my eyes. To the pro's it's probably nothing. I remember watching the 2011 BM Classic when it was on the Mississippi Delta in New Orleans. Remember watching video and whatnot with guys running 2-3 hours (I believe it was called the Venice location on the river) before even making a single cast. That's unreal that someone would devote 50% or more of the tournament day in just getting to a location. But Quill is right, someone will catch'em. 45lbs is probably a good guess as 15lbs now is apparently a winning sack and doing that 3 days in a row will be hard to beat.
  23. I saw that they re-released those. They were initially the "Warthog" and after a 99% complaint rate of them filling with water and sinking immediately had to pull them from the shelves. They look good, are a USA made product and local MO company which is great, but they have had QC issues in the past. So maybe get one or two before backing up the truck on them. Next TW order I will get one or two to try. If I had a dollar for every time I heard that a company has "the old wiggle wart mold" I would have been able to outbid Johnny Morris to buy out Cabela's. Another mention is the Teckel Drunker. Has great hunting action and has a more subtle rattle. I like'm, but they come with junk hardware. But if you are a true wart junky type you are already swapping out hooks and rings anyways.
  24. I was speaking of THIS weekend (Nov 4-6) . Was going to come down but looked at the MO regatta and the FLW guys will be beating the lake to a froth and I am not big on lake latte. Especially since they will be launching from State Park....directly across from Beardsley. NO THANKS! On top of all that, the fishing is tough unless you are fortunate enough to happen across some feeding fish on top or below on the spoon deal. Sounds like most of that action is up the White anyhow. Will wait another week and hopefully temps drop into the low 60s/upper 50's soon. Probably not going to happen as it is going to be 84 tomorrow (potential STL record for that date) and mid 70s the rest of the week here. Need a handful of upper 30 degree nights in a row to zap that water temp down quickly to where it belongs for this time of year.
