  1. I used a couple of these down at Grand a while back and the blades broke on both of them. Are they for sure going to mold the blades in or continue to glue them on? I was using the large ones. They do catch fish until they break though. Another bait we used at Grand was the Grass Burner. It worked awesome too. They are $25 , but the fish really seemed to like it.
  2. If you are fishing up lake I would put in a Flat Creek. Down lake go to the marina. The ramp at Bridgeport is iffy right now. When you are done you can get some of that great catfish at Flat Creek restaurant.
  3. This Ned fishing sounds addictive. What is the web site to order Daves jig heads. Thanks in advance.
  4. Flat Creek has the very best catfish on the planet. All you can eat every night.
  5. The day we were up in the Kings, there wasn't much wind. The two big fish we had were flipping swimbaits back in dock stalls. They came out from under those floats and devoured that big bull shad. I lost a giant at LOZ flipping a buzz bait back in stalls during the Big Bass Bash. Wish I would of been throwing that bull shad.
  6. We started our week out Monday in the James and Tuesday in the Kings. I put both of those reports on here earlier in the week. Wednesday we fished in the Cape Fair Marina tourny and found a lot of fish in the James. Lot of shad in all the cuts and the fish were biting. We ended up taking 2nd with 9+ with 4 fish(big bass 3.59). The winning team had 12+ with 4 fish. Thursday we fished out of Aunts and headed around point 12. No shad but caught fish all day. We took a ride in the new 210 Charger with Kelly from Ulrich. What a boat. Friday we fished up in the little and big Indian on a windy north wind. Caught fish all day. Top water was best with our best 5 at 17lbs. We fished the TOC on Saturday and headed back to the Indian. With no wind, very bad decision. Caught 4 fish all day with one keeper spot. We should of followed our gut and headed up the James. The fog was our decision maker. All in all a great fall vacation.
  7. We put in at Kings River Marina and headed south around 7 this morning. Throwing top water, we managed to put 15 or so in the boat with no keepers. Had some nice blow-ups but didn't connect. Around 1130 we changed over to some different stuff and my cousin had a 5 1/2 and a 3+ on back to back casts. We fished down to Arrowhead and finished around 3. Ended the day with 26(4 keepers). We did not see any shad all day. Don't know if they are in the main channel or what , but definite were not back in the coves. Going to try around Cape Fair again tomorrow. I have some good pics, but don't have a clue how to put them on here. Good luck fishing.
  8. We didn't get more than a mile or two past point 15.
  9. My cousin and myself got here around 5 today. Started at Flat Creek ramp and caught two with one keeper. Caught it on a Rock Crawler. Caught three more around the riprap with one keeper on a red eye. Moved over to the James and caught several more on buzzer and red eye. Ended up with 13(5 keepers). Biggest fish(3.25lb) was caught on a buzz bait on the end of a dock. Quit at dark and ate some of the awesome catfish at Flat Creek. Fished the Big Bass Bash at LOZ. 7.16 won it for $1000,000. 7.15 took 2nd for $20,000. Wouldn't that hurt. We are going to be here all week trying different areas all week. Will try and keep it shorter. Good luck to all.
  10. I fished up in Flat Creek and the James north of the split last week. We caught all Largemouth with 25% keepers. Nothing over 4lbs. Tons of 3-4" shad up there. Fished up in the dam area mid week and discovered the Whopper P. Big fish bait Deluxe. Smallies will flat blow it out of the water. The 3.5" Whopper P catches everything in the lake. Baby perch up to big fish. Great for numbers. We fished the Champion Tourny Saturday and had the fish blow up on the Whopper P, but didn't get a couple big LM in around point 11. 13 and change won the money with 3.54 BB. Great weather all last week but the cool front came through Thursday and slowed them down a bit. Awesome fishing for a couple Kansas boys. Hated to come back to work. Keep catching them and good luck.
  11. Thanks on the TOC. I hope everybody starts getting on them pretty soon. Once the water gets in the 70's it will be lights out. Good luck to all.
  12. Nice fish Donna. Cool weather will be here shortly and the top water bite will be right around the corner. Donna, do you know when the Champion Owners tourny is in October. Thanks for the info in advance.
  13. I am coming down tomorrow and could not find any jigs in Wichita. Is there anyone in the Cape Fair area that would like to sell some. Or I will travel to meet up. It sounds like the ticket to having a lot of fun. Any feedback would be great. I will keep everyone posted of any success thru-out the week. Thanks CBO
  14. Champ, when did they start having the Champion Derby again. Where can I find details for it. Thanks Chris
  15. One guy that is not mentioned on here very much is Jackie Davis. I have used him in the month of October for the last several years and if you want to catch big smallies on a jig, he is the man. The fish are still down deep, so if you are wanting to spoon or drop shot, one of the other guys would be great also. Good luck.
