Finally a shooter...we’ve been hunting every weekend since it opened and a couple days in between...oldest boy finally decided this one was worthy. Fun times

I’ve been messing with the boat...I’m pretty much ready to go. I drove thru 4rivers Friday...still isn’t flooded...I’m not walking in so I hope they put the plug in the drain soon

Mud buddy style...it pushes it along good enough to get 3 guys and way too many decoys into 4rivers the bad thing about it is that you have to beach it to shoot out of it

Catfish to ducks...pulled the front deck extension and trolling motor...put up the Avery quick set frame...it’s a heck of a little boat.

Pretty fish...you can see some of the film on the water in your pics. It was really bad in May...almost like an oil layer...was a couple inches thick it seemed Years ago they said the next state record would come out of it. Mdc had shocked a big one I guess. I used to go up there all the time...the bass fishing was fantastic for numbers and size.

Lamar lake used to be awesome 15 years ago...but it’s went downhill. There’s so much pressure on it Last time we were there...which was May or so of this year. The Water had a film on it...and the weeds were black as coal. I think they sprayed the weeds or something or maybe ag run off has hurt it

Don’t forget lower Taneycomo...when my boys were little we went down there quite a bit due to Trav’s reports. We caught a slew of bluegills behind the islands between edgewater and rockaway beach id think there would be some good ones in there if you knew how to catch them

I split an arrow today...hard to believe because I’m a mediocre shot at best...but I do like to practice I’ve knocked the nocks off of them before...but never had one split the arrow and stick

I agree with that...I am one. Heck, both me and rick took a shot on a jet foot for a 50 year old Johnson 25hp...you’ve never seen us on jeopardy

Maybe they would..but not many people are trying to keep a 40 year old mercury 9.9 alive.

^^^^^ i agree...get a guide Pack bug spray —- we went to white bear lake once in the fall when I was a kid...40 years ago. I don’t remember much...except the mosquitoes there’s a cabelas In owatonna on the way up...if you want to buy leaches If renting a bare bones fishing boat...take a trolling motor, battery and basic fishfinder.

Ya...I’d rather use hot dogs than that stuff might go to low water bridge and try to catch some bait before I go back...strip pits might be a good place to catch some perch too Somebody left a big soft shell dead at the ramp I noticed as I was putting the boat on the trailer...What a jerk...I hate it that someone would kill it...and just leave it there for the birds to eat

I went to riverton yesterday after church I tried to use secret 7 dip bait...but had a hard time keeping it on the hook weve got some pancrease and spleen in the deep freeze but it must be at the bottom...I couldn’t find it got to figure something else out for bait...I didn’t like the dip bait...too messy

I’m getting ready to go...I like beef pancreas for bait. Cut it in cubes. Has a bunch of fibers in it that help it stay on the hook. Usually squirt some bang Garlic or crawdad scent on it im just using 14lb big game...and 10lb for my leader i might try using a float of some sort on my Carolina rig...Not real sure how that works so gonna google around on it...thanks

I think riv nuts are what I call self tapping screws i mounted it to the plate for now...might go later on this evening and try it out Anybody have any catfishing tips?

ive got two hitek rod holders I bought a year or so ago...that I’ve never installed. Was planning to to try spider rigging based on all the success that lance has down at beaver...but I think catfish would be more my speed...and there’s a good population pretty close to the house thinking about putting one base up front to start and just using old bass rods and reels. kansas has a two rod max...but can buy a 3 rod permit for extra $$...Oklahoma is pretty much wide open...up to seven each do you think the base would be secure enough if I use self tapping screws down thru the front deck? If I put it here it goes thru 2 layers because of the brace...but doesn’t sound super secure Or what’s the best way to install the bases? I want them to be removable for ducks... wonder if I should mount the base to a 10 lb plate...and just move it wherever I want to fish from...that might work
