I have never turkey hunted, so I did not go. Had several run across the road early this am and I tried to run one down with no luck. I would have gone and got tags if I had been successful in running over a couple or three. I will try again tomorrow.

Last summer I would fish bssp occasionally. I would normally fish for about 2 hrs and realize that I had been there about 1.5 hrs too long. Only then did I remember why I had not fished it on a regular basis as in years past, before 2004. I look for bssp to make some changes to spark their revenue. Maybe they will charge 5 bucks for a daily tag, and charge a daily parking fee. Make the two bridges crossing the creek into toll bridges, and close them to all foot traffic. Maybe then they could afford to release 2 fish per fisherman, and buy food for the ones with stunted grow. It is obvious that their growth is stunted by the fish you catch.

Aint it the truth? And if you listen to JR every opener, he will tell you that they just released 200 lunkers, and 50 of them are over 8lbs. It is always , "come on down", the fishing is great and the water is always clear and at wadable levels. Daily stockers are released at a rate of 1.5 fish per estimated fisherman for the following day. Realisticly they only estimate about 39 fishermen to show up on any week day.

Well Wayne that has got to be one the best stories I have ever heard. Like I said ealier, it is almost impossible to fix stupid. I know you can remember when fishermen would leave the creek to walk around your backcast. Them days are long gone.

People like that have to be unconscious, because someone in a conscious state of mind could not possibly be that stupid, or rude, or unknowing. I see it on a daily basis at the trout parks and tcomo, but rarely say anything anymore. I bleed alot easier than I use to in my younger days. I once took the hat off a fellow with a well placed fly and split shot. He knew he was wrong and never said a word as he raced downstream to catch up with the hat.

I agree with DADAKOTA, people try to rush this crappie thing every year. And along about november they will be talking about a second spawn and the dang lake turning over.

A few years back, Kdan and I witnessed a 7lb brown eat a small brown trout, 10 inch, and attempt to eat a much larger rainbow, probably 14 inch, all in the same day. He would grab them from the side and hold their gills closed while they drowned. He would then try to swallow head first. We nicknamed him the "fish eater brown". we caught and released him 4 times that season.

We had our favorite meal last evening. Crappie fresh out of the lake, a few brats and steaks hot off the grill, with cole slaw, baked taters, greens beans and some good ole black eyed peas. Add nine close friends and neighbors for one of the most enjoyable meals of all time. After dinner we drank coffee and watched the lake flow by.

No dumb ones huh? I would suspect it is because you have given them all sore mouth and smartened them up. I failed in my quest for a record logperch today. I hooked some log salmon, caught some crappie, but did not land any logperch. Had one break off on the 5x, so I am guessing it was the fish I was after. Maybe tomorrow.
