  1. Spoke with Mike again last night. Said they would follow but not eat. Many times he had multiple fish on the live scope. Lots of the guys were saying the same thing. I'd like to try those K's out down there and see what I could make of them. Marty Stone said the majority of them really never go to the bank and live their life suspended over deep trees, except a very short period to spawn, and that may be extremely deep spammers, due to the clarity of the lake. Does that remind you of anyplace we know?
  2. How in the H-e double ek can Wheeler catch 51 fish today with 30 keepers. In this guys hands Garmin Live scope and Lowrance Active Target should not be allowed. He is so far ahead of the field that its pro-ball against college. Spoke to Mike yesterday. He had 1 keeper the 1st. day of practice and 6 the second day. He is right in there to make the knockout, but that is 46 Friggin pounds behind Wheeler. If we ever have a food shortage dude and his fam. would be OK if they liked to eat fish everyday. Unreal.
  3. What Cheese said. Without a doubt
  4. We walked there after church, and it was open, boats were launching. Walking trails had sections that were closed. Bet they opened it midmorning.
  5. Surface Temps are not yet 50. Cricket most likely low 40's. Probably by next week we will be there with 70 degree weather coming later this week and a few 50 degree nights.
  6. Your my new hero. If you can keep your Garmin junk trolling motor running your dangerous😃😃😃😃😃😃
  7. Good job Mike. You guys look like the MLF Pro's with all those rods laying across the deck. 😃😃😃
  8. No problem with doing that. Your 360 is on a separate turret. I would then place a Live scope on the Garmin shaft. There are lots of boats operating like this. You then have a Garmin graph up front for the Live Scope and a Helix for the 360. You have a UHD transducer on the Garmin for 2D. You also have mapping and GPS lock, down and side scan. KVD used his Mega 360 day before yesterday to locate broken off tree tops lying on the bottom, then would crank over them. He stressed the word MEGA, so I don't know how much he was using live, as he never mentioned the word live a single time. He wasn't looking for fish, he was looking for structure. I think Ebare caught them yesterday using the new Bird forward facing sonar so it really works. Good luck.
  9. I think I’d use the Helix but maybe not the big one. Bird however is way better than any of the others about not leaving you out in the woods when something new comes along. If it’s Lowrance they start fresh and your in trouble. That 2018 HDS12Gen III I just sold does not work with Active Target you have to have at the least a Carbon Unit. Should be updates to make a 3/4 year old $3,000.00 unit work. I think Bird will do the right thing. Hate to see guys dropping thousands of dollars and then a total change. Not really fair. Guess fair is just in my mind.
  10. Dutch is absolutely right, I have had multiple clients have the same problems. The regional Phoenix rep. also had the same problems so there are some bugs there right now. Unless your totally sold and have an Ultrex or Ulterra, there might be way better options out there at this moment. The way this is setting up you need to have your set up be a complete system, and they are all upgrading and changing as we speak. From what I've picked up visiting with some of the BPT guys, the biggest mover may be Minn Kota, Hummingbird in the next 18 to 24 months, with a new motor and new electronics. I think in the first BPT event this year Power Pole also had a demo brushless motor out there. Garmin is making big improvements on panoptics and Lowrance is already all new with the best CURRENT trolling motor on the market. I'm not changing anything for a while as it is a horrible arms race right now. The guys with Active Target and Panoptics Livescope, are just hammering them on Fork.
  11. Footnote, I will tell you almost every Pro runs the depth on auto.
  12. Should tell you in the manual if you can do it. Everyone I know is using the touch and that is all displayed right on the screen. Sorry Bakers videos are killer and I believe some of the early scope vids have the 1022. Subscribe to his channel and ask him and he will tell you in a minute. Wheeler had 57 pounds on a jerk bait today and said he saw everyone of them bite it. Active Target but same forward facing deal.
  13. Great morning Bobby, glad it happened for you.
  14. If the waters off they have been eating a pink Power Worm from Fall Creek to Trout Hollow or a micro jig 7' under a float. I used 6X leader from the float down. On Zero generation they also bit a dark micro really well in the restricted zone. Same depth. Good Fishing
  15. Weather it be a Yeti, Engle, or K2 cooler using the 60 series on all models they hold 2 blocks of Ice with one bag poured over the top of the drinks 12 waters 24 cans on one side. 12 boxes of crawlers in the other half side of the cooler. All 3, in the summer, easy 10 days in our aluminum trout boats. Really about a buck a day for ice cost. Are they worth it. Yes to us because we get a guide discount on them and then, your not continually messing with putting ice in everyday. Almost all the guides are using them in non- conforming boats that don't have a cooler. Makes a great padded seat too. Minus, big, heavy, full retail cost.
  16. Lund. ------------------------------ All the rest with the exception of Crestliner, on V bottoms. Flat bottoms. Allweld, Sea Ark---------------------------All the rest.
  17. Make an appointment at Warsaw with Pro Choice Marine. Tell the owner Luke I sent you. You will not find a better price on a Nitro anywhere. I think they may be the biggest dealer in the US for Nitro boats Before you buy one go across the street to Anglers Port and check out the Phoenix's. Really without equal in dry ride big water bass boats. At that 2 dealerships you can see 4 lines of bass boats. Everything but I believe Triton and Bass Cat. I'd probably stay clear of the Triton's as they keep telling us they are going away.
  18. After looking at that bass boat hull it looks like it would beat the beegeebers out of you on Lake O. or the Rock. Also guessing on a 3 quarter head wind it would soak you to the bone. There are just to many good bass boats out there with local dealers to stand behind them here to make a move like that unless they were so low cost it was strict a money decision I wouldn't poo poo the Nitro to much right now as since Johnny bought Triton and Ranger, Nitro has become the flagship for those lines. Just an opinion and you know the story about those.
  19. Fished with McClelland today at the dam. Close to 50 degree when we pulled out Mostly working on prototype baits and fine tuning a new Garmin update. Great day with a a super guy an a fantastic friend. We watched MLF Live and solved all the worlds problems
  20. Sold to the man in the 196. Tks.
  21. This unit was in the dash of my Phoenix for side, down, Gps and 2D I put the new Garmans in and took this unit to Marine Repair for a go thru and up date. Scott said its in perfect condition. You can install in dash or bow mount. Comes with no transducers as there are now 7 different options for the different configurations, so its yours to chose. Prices on transducers run from $80.00 to $300.00. Price on the HDS 12 is $600.00. Call or write😁 417-332-7016.
  22. Chad McKee just cracked me up talking about the US Ice fishing team at the Winter Olympics facing possible doping violations.
  23. LVN2, I think they have chosen to follow the NASCAR model on advertising, as they have the platform to do so with all the add space on themselves, their trucks and boats. I think in golf you are only allowed a single sponsorship on your clothing. I was at the Mercedes dealership getting my wife's car serviced and they were talking about the golfer that represents them on tour. I forget his name, think its Ricky something but it is a young guy that wears a flat bill hat and both his hat and shirt have the car emblem on it. Said he was getting 3 million a year for the sponsorship, just wearing the shirt and hat and a free $350,000.00 SUV. The guys on the BPT are getting free baits and equipment and some, from their title sponsor a stipen. Not apples to apples, but I do agree with you, I get tired of hearing it from race car drivers, fishermen and the worst is the hunting and fishing shows.
  24. James, I had 2 guides out yesterday from Lake O. We were watching the derby while fishing. When he went on a run at caught 2 six pounders and 2 seven pounders those guys both shouted. DING!! Then when either caught a good one they were dinging themselves. It was very interesting talking to the other guides about him, I had a great day, with them. Great win by your Hogs the other nite.
  25. Watched a video a few years a go with Dustin Connell, MPJ and Jacob Wheeler. Wheeler was kind of running it and they were talking about seasonal migration of bass and global imaging. Wheeler had just won a big money deal and was saying every fish he caught he had found on satellite imaging on Google Earth. He had located deep travel routes to staging locations in conjunction with spawning areas, visually looking at these instead of looking at a contour map. I forget what lake it was but he said he had like 30 locations. He went to all those and no other spots, using at the time pan optics to scan and see what was currently there. He found concentrations on 10 of those spots. Said he did not make a single cast in two days of practice, just used the technology. That is not how we fish or have been taught to fish. How many of us have caught our biggest fish in a derby on the day prior to the derby. As a guide I have guided tournament fisherman for 30 years. If you find fish for them they can't leave them alone, always got to test them. Can't tell you the number of really good fishermen that say if you even think you may know where they are living on the White River Lakes stay as far away from them as you can prior to a derby. They don't replenish, leave them the HE&& Alone. This current crop of Pro's are doing that with tech. They still have to make them bite, but they are fishing where the fish are. They already know they are there prior to ever casting and at times prior to even launching the boat. That is generational.
