Nice pictures Bob. Great job. I have no new spinning rods right now. Sorry.

I know they have been way improved. Those things used to break faster than a teenagers heart. I believe Champ had a deal with them at one time, but I think he had some problems. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I know Denjak busted more than one. Beck also had a 1/2 dozen of them one of the tackle reps gave him and I saw him snap one on about a 10 inch jaw. Bill Beck was a pressure hook setter. Never saw him jerk or snap set a bait in the 20 plus years I knew and fished with him. The most pressure he ever put on a rod was long lining a heavy jig in deep water or fishing a blade. He flipped docks on the Rock with 8 pound Maxi and 10 pound Invizx. Never saw him break one off or lose one. I told Champ about this 15 years ago and he thought we were nuts fishing that spiderweb around docks. I can't say the same for myself. I can remember getting a time out for snapping a couple off one day. 😆😆😆 I get off track easy. That was a long time ago. Ducketts were not as bad as the old carrot stick, but just a bit worse than a Loomis. I know that's all been corrected, but it left a pretty bad taste. Hey, you know me. Anything good enough for Wheeler is plenty good enough.

I'm a US kind of guy too, but show me a single spinning reel that even comes close to a Shimano Stella or a casting reel that is even in the same zip code with a Diawa Steez. Not to even mention a Megabass jerk bait. Better quality, better performance, better craftsmanship. Very sad but true.

Happen to hear what the big bag was caught on?

Might be a bit above the price point your looking for but I have 3 new on the rack Falcon Cara's made in the USA Mike McClelland Crank bait rods. Mike made these especially for the Rock Crawler, wiggle wart and square bill. They work great with a Dixie Jet or jigging spoon and the will throw a Redfin a country mile, even as lite as it is. Extremely sensitive fast tip, soft thru the middle and stout butt section. The quaint essential crank bait rod designed by Mike. I can sell picked up here for $229.00. Buy 2 and shipping is included.

I've got a couple locations at Baxter I catch just monsters in the Spring. I'm a master crappie guy for about 7 days a year. In September this year I caught some really nice ones. Also at Baxter, boat in 70' to 100' throwing Dixie Jet spoons at suspended shad schools, 30'. Crappie were right in the shad balls. Probably hard to repeat😆😆😋

You can go up the James and pitch dock slips and catch some. Same with the Kings and Long Creek but boy that's tough There are some good crappie guys here, but really its a pretty tight lipped bunch and its for a reason. On crappie on the Rock if you figure it out mums the word if your smart. There is a young guide here in Branson that has probably 50 man made locations that is probably the best on the lake right now. He has put in the work and it is work. Pete Leonard. 417-543-0304 Good Luck.

That might have been the crappiest write up I've ever read. Pretty much just a BP sales add. Geez. Would have been nice to let the young men talk about it a little.

Thanks bassackwards. Now we know. Again this morning on a Tuesday at 6:45 the lake is covered with fisherman. Seems to be a parade coming from the dam toward long creek

I'm a huge Hogville.net fan and most of those folks think that line is ridiculous. 8 pts. at the most. Burks is the key along with Tyler Badie. Missouri seems to have gotten their rush defense in order but not their secondary. If Burks gets 150 plus the Hogs win if Badie gets 150 plus the Tigers may have a chance.

Best bet is to tell him to move to Warsaw. Got Truman and Lake O. 😁😁😁

If your on a college team how does this type of win effect your amateur status? Also really surprised to see the number of fisherman out this morning. Got up at daylight and boats were running. These are not guide trips for the most part as none came out of BC Marina. I can count 8 boats right now. Pressure on this pond is relentless.

Great game by the pigs. They will destroy my Tigers next weekend. We did beat Florida as did everyone else but Bowl eligible is a great feeling and recruiting class ranked in the top 15 is totally unreal for Ole Missouri.

AND THEY'RE OFF. 7:15 First Flight under the Long Creek bridge. Couple off families going to have a nice 2021. Its totally pouring all of a sudden cloud burst. Ouch. Rain stings at 60mph.

No way you can get a new one by February. From what I'm hearing its April if you order it today.

Again there is a money restriction for this tournament. People that have won I believe its $50,000 in their lifetime fishing here do not qualify. Can't fish. Lots of the top locals just cant fish as they are on top of that in winnings. Blevins is NOT FISHING, that's his dad. Blevins fishes a Bass Cat. His dad is fishing out if a bass pro product that Blevins won and sold to him, to qualify on Bull Shoals. I'm sure he is fishing young Blevins fish. Also heard. A-Rig. Period. Don't think for one second that you can't fish it 40' to 60' thru deep fish. Works good anytime there feeding on shad regardless of depth. Ask Blevins.
-
Probably 100 plus skunks yesterday so they are not moving that many, but we for sure get your drift. I believe it may be Blevins dad as Blevins has won to much money to be able to fish it. Got my first trip after deer season today on Taney and it looks like a churned up ocean out here this morning, looking at the Rock from the lodge. Crazy to hammer them the first day. I believe 15 pounds or less makes it thru to tomorrow so that's when you need to go to your best location. I think the 50 tomorrow start at zero weight. If its accumulated over all 3 days then excuse me.

Lilley's Lake Taneycomo Fishing Report, November 17
Bill Babler replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Great report and Vid. Thanks much -
Indian Hills. Great pavilion, best launch and dock on the lake. Better call quickly
-
Depending on the boat and your preference, there are at least 50 mounting configuration and brackets. Can you be a little more specific? Thanks.

Guided the Rock same day, out of KC. We only had 7 with 4 solid keeps. 2 keeps shallow on a GP NED and 2 deep on a drop shot. Tougher than 20 year old leather boot.
-
So sorry to have missed it. Unfortunately it fell on a Saturday that the son and I take in our annual Mizzou game. Congrats to Cheese and all that were able to participate.
-
Just got back from Columbia and our annual Missouri football game. Hope the fishing derby worked out better than the Razorbacks and the Tigers days today. Give us the Skinny.

10-15-21 For you all that are getting to fish the tournament tomorrow, there are some really good reports coming in on shallow Jig fish. Boat in 15’ at first light small 5/16th. Or 3/8th. oz. jig with small pac-a-chunk trailer. Gravel points and cuts Indian Point to Campbell Point. 10 am move the boat to 30’ with bite still good 1/2 way back in the 12’ to 20’ range. Switch to a Hard Head and reel it slow like a crank bait bumping the bottom or drag it. C-Rig is also really good up in the day. GP Centipede, same depth. All brown fish. One of the local really reliable guides told me his clients had 16 keeps up to 4 lbs. Monday and then had 12 keeps Tuesday. Not a lot of short fish. More keeps than short bites. Good Luck.

Did Someone Say "We sure could use some rain"?
Bill Babler replied to vernon's topic in Table Rock Lake
Over the last 2 days at the lodge we have gotten to this point 5.5 inches. Really needed it. I think we are still about 8” down for the year to date. Lights here went out about an hour ago all over the Carroll Electric grid in this area.
