  1. Happy birthday guys!
  2. I have tried those Max Scent trailers and cannot get a bite on them. Still have some somewhere, might have to give them another shot.
  3. Great colors on that fish!
  4. Quillback

    Eager (Beaver)

Thanks for the recommendation, always looking for a good read.
  5. You are getting some birds this year.
  6. They're probably used to guys showing up in waders asking to just catch one Koi out of the display. Gotta knock one off the species list.
  7. For me it is a wallet agenda. When it was $4.60/gallon, a day trip over to Table Rock cost a few.
  8. 7 keepers is pretty darned good for this time of year.
  9. Betcha didn't burn much gas. 👍
  10. I've heard that visibility is a problem, especially deeper.
  11. I hear there is a bit of a plopper bite going on.
  12. Whoa Nellie. that is a nice brown! I should fish the tail water, I assume there is plenty of bank access?
  13. Curious if the wind and clouds turned them on.
  14. Well if you are ever in the PAC NW, these are the folks to go with. Prices sure have gone up, I remember when it was $80 for the day. I like this quote from the tuna trips. Full Rain gear is a must. This is a bloody fishery, you'll be happy you brought full gear. Trip Types - Deep Sea Charters LLC
  15. Salmon is just OK for me. I gave a lot away, some of my neighbors loved the stuff. I used to smoke some of it, that was excellent. My favorite west coast fish to eat were ling cod.
  16. Yep, I started using the Quillback moniker when I lived in WA and was on the steelheader.net forum, I've had it for a long time. I have also caught the saltwater version when I lived there, it is an ugly fish but tasty to eat.
  17. That's pretty darned good, congrats!
  18. Quillbacks are very smart and hard to catch. 😁
  19. There's a lot I like about NW Arkansas, but one thing I don't like is that it has really grown. Might make a move someday, still kicking around where to go. Mountain Home area is on the list, or maybe East Texas, somewhere around Toledo Bend or Rayburn. Not going anywhere that has a real winter.
  20. 2nd guess is Japanese hop.
  21. My best guess: taxon detail - FSUS (unc.edu)
