  1. looks like the Kings is running at 25,000 CFS, that's a lot for a small river.
  2. A few years ago Beaver had a big rise, I was fishing back in the Indian creek arm and there were big patches of leaf litter floating in the main channel. The carp were coming up and feeding on that stuff. If a guy could figure out some kind of leaf imitating fly, there was fun to be had. Dunno if the same thing will happen on TR this weekend.
  3. Good to hear they are going to start moving some of this water out, long range forecast showed more rain possible next week, but nothing about whether it will amount to much. Evening news showed the precip totals over the region and the worst of it was around the Fayetteville area stretching NE. Beaver is really coming up fast, would not surprise me if they start dumping water out of Beaver. Little Sugar is way out of its banks, but that drains to Grand. It will mess up some of the golf courses here.
  4. And why not let them whack some flying carp (geese)? Way too many of those things around here.
  5. Might be able to shoot out of tree stands if the water gets up high enough. They've got some out of bounds areas around some of the big docks and even a few coves, tourist fed carp are probably safe.
  6. This rain may really mess up the Kings river arm, that arm will fill up with floating wood and it is very difficult to get through. Otherwise the Viola ramp is a good one to use on the Kings and it has a courtesy dock. You could also go a bit further on 86 to Eagle Rock to access the upper White, courtesy dock there too.
  7. Didn't know that, maybe trying to keep Beaver at 1120?
  8. Looks like they are releasing water through the floodgates?
  9. Kind of on the NW edge of it here in Bella Vista, so it has rained but not crazy amounts at least so far. Down south a bit in Bentonville they have video of a school bus that got swept into a ditch by water over the road and also some cars getting washed away. So far no fatalities thankfully.
  10. No need to do it if they're eats blades and jigs and you're targeting bass, but if a guy just wanted to catch fish, I bet a redworm on a drop shot fished where those worms are popping out would keep a guy pretty busy.
  11. I bet you have some rigs that will imitate the little worm.
  12. Let us hope. In the meantime however, if you have some spare time, might be a good idea to tie on some marker buoys to your favorite concrete picnic tables.
  13. We've tried to point out the benefits of fishing in the dry months of August and September, but he's not falling for it.
  14. Break out the spinnerbaits! A few weeks ago I had one of the best spinnerbait bites I've ever had on one of the BV lakes in the aftermath of a heavy rain that dirtied up one of the coves. Got back out there the next day all fired up to do it again, water had cleared a bit and could not get one bite on the SB. If I can get to the ramp tomorrow I'm going to try it again. Dunno if the bass will move back in there again as they are in a sort of almost ready to spawn mode, but I will have to give it a try.
  15. The "We're saving the bass" argument is weak, very weak. Why not just say that they're a bunch of guys that like to go out at night and shoot fish?
  16. Congrats, and some species I have never heard of. That blue-spotted sunfish is pretty neat looking.

  19. I've seen some of your pics on another forum where you've caught some impressive bass on swimmers.

  21. Love those fat spots!
  22. Interesting, paying over a thousand bucks for a lure you don't expect to catch fish on. 😄
  23. Good deal, would like to get out on Beaver myself, but as you noted this dang wind just keeps blowing.
