  1. I could only take about 4 minutes of it.
  2. On the days they ask you that question - were you wearing a jersey?
  3. I think someone is miffed that MDC is removing those nasty invasive carp from Creve Couer and is trying to use that to direct anger at MDC. Nice try.
  4. The BH strikes again! Congrats on getting a bird.
  5. 16" crappie is a heckuva crappie.
  6. Thanks for the report, FLW Costa tourney starts Thursday.
  7. Nice too see some rain forecast for SW Kansas, be good for the bird habitat (and farmers).
  8. Finally got a break from the wind and cold, launched about 10 AM with the plan to fish points and banks that were in the sun. Slow rolled 2.8 Keitechs, caught 20 bass, maybe half of them keepers, and about half of them smallies. Biggest fish was a 3.5 largemouth. Fish were a bit deep, 10-20 FOW for the most part and some seem to be moving into the pockets and coves, starting to get near those spawning banks. Ran into my buddy Jeb out there, he had a visitor down from Minnesota, and they were getting bit too. WT 53 when I left, water in Indian is a stained green, clear water in the dam basin where you can see bottom in 15 FOW.
  9. Indian is stained green, further back you go the stain increases a bit. I'm going to say 3-4 feet of viz. I didn't fish the really clear water much, but did catch a couple of smallies in the clear water. Once I get back in Indian, I'm there for the day. I'd like to get over to the Clifty arms someday, kind of curious what the water color is there.
  10. Part of the NAFTA agreement, we send them Bud Light, they send us Corona. Win for us.

  12. Don't go picking on us Ned guys, I deep hook fewer fish with the Ned than just about any other bait I use. They hardly ever get it down in their throat or in their gills.
  13. Quite a few neighborhood ramps in the Big M area back in the coves, if I had only a Yak to fish from, I would not hesitate to fish back in some of those coves, you will get some bass boats back in them, but it's not that bad. Viney creek for example has two little ramps with parking, no launch fee.
  14. Congrats on some great fishing. You are an inspiration to wimps like me that stayed in the house this weekend and watched baseball and hockey instead of getting out there in that stinking wind.
  15. Shoot Bill Babler a PM, or call him, unless things have changed I believe he uses Falcons and if he doesn't have any around, I am sure he can find some for you. Contact info: http://whiteriveroutfitters.com/
  16. Any of you know what the water looks like around PC? Is it still pretty muddy?
  17. Whew, glad you didn't sore mouth any of my smallies. Just kidding of course, that white bass run to the back on Indian can be hard to time, cool to see you get into them!
  18. Just got my new bill, $309 for the year.
  19. That's pretty much what the yakkers do. Nothing wrong with it IMO. I believe they also have to pass out rulers for them to use or inspect the ones they are going to use. I remember a cheating incident where someone made their own scaled down ruler and used that to measure their fish. When it comes to cheating, people can get pretty creative. Sad thing is it is probably less than %1 of the anglers who will cheat, but it sure complicates things for everyone else.
  20. Same here, probably going to have to start thinking in inches like the kayak tourneys do, so many potential issues can arise when weighing fish and releasing them. We'll all have to start talking about our catches in inches, as in my best five went 94 inches.
  21. Bruins handled the Leafs last night, relatively close for the 1st two periods, then the Leafs collapsed. 5 minute major for a cheap shot in the 3rd sealed the deal. Chippy game, wouldn't be surprised to see Kadri, deliverer of the cheap shot, get suspended for a game, and when he comes back, he'd better keep his eyes open.
  22. Fishing buddy just got one of the new model Presidents from Cabelas, I didn't realize they have come out with a new model recently, anyway I gave it a practice cast and retrieve and I thought it was a very smooth reel, and I mean smooth, surprisingly so. Lightweight also. We'll see how it does over time, but next time I need a spinning reel, the President will be a contender.
  23. So if you keep sending in spoonie tags can you eventually get upgraded to a free tuxedo? A camo tuxedo would be really neat.
  24. Yep the Ol' Lilly pad worm drag. One of my favorites was dragging a Johnson silver spoon, tipped with an Uncle Josh pork frog trailer across the pads. You'd see that bulge in the water from 20 feet away from the lure start moving towards it, when it got close, I'd pull that spoon off a pad and let it drop, and sometimes you'd get the big old swirl when Mr. bass grabbed it.
