Fished from above Big M down to about point 23. Above Big M the water is fairly dingy, visibility maybe a foot or two, below it starts to clear up a bit, maybe 3-5 feet of viz. In the dirty water I caught fish on a Wiggle Wart and the Menace grub on a 3/8 oz wobble head. In the clearer water the Ned was working better. Stained water fish were better quality overall, caught 6 largemouth keepers on the Wart and Menace, mainly back in pockets and coves. Caught one smallie keeper on the Ned. 25 bass total. Worked the Wart and Menace fairly close to the bank on rocky shores. Ned was catching deeper fish, 10-20 FOW. Water temps 55-57

Fished for crappie today with Muddy Water, we fished from Viney to mouth of the Kings, trying several coves. We caught half a dozen in 6 hours of fishing, I expected to have to work for them, but was hoping for more than a half dozen. Nice fish, 12-13" and thick bodied, but not many of them. We caught them swimming small flukes on 1/16 oz Ned heads. We also caught about a few bass on the swimmer. We swam them from the bank back to the boat, seems most of our bites were in about 10 FOW. Saw water temps from 56 to almost 60.

Pretty good for a few hours of fishing.

We covered a lot of water today, didn't fish it all, but we saw a lot. Water was stained everywhere, with it being a light brown color further up the White at Stubblefield. I fished with RPS in his boat today. Lots of wood debris in the water from the rising water also. Lots of boats too. Fishing was on the slow side, we boated about 30 bass and one short walleye, all on the Ned. I think we had 2 keepers. Rps got big fish honors with one about 3 lbs. Fish were mostly right on the bank with a few out deeper. Water temps ranged from 54 to 58.

Cool, congrats to the Mizzou BB program. Of course I hope the Hogs beat the stuffing out of Mizzou next year, but in spite of that, it is good to see some talent going to the SEC. I would be perfectly happy to see 6 SEC teams in the top 25 every year.

I am about done with "pick a guy that has done well on the lake before" strategy. it's still early, and the weather is killing the offshore guys today, but it is tough to make up ground if a guy falls to far behind.
