  1. Kudos to you folks for jumping in and releasing the fish in other locations and spreading them out a bit. I'd like to see AGFC do that on Beaver lake also for the FLW fish, according to the newspaper, FLW supplied a barge, but released all the fish just a few hundred yards from the Prairie Creek ramp. 2,400 of them so they say. I really wish they could have done a better job of relocating them throughout the lake, rather than dumping them right at PC. But, maybe the info I read was wrong, but that's what I read.
  2. It is good to have friends in the right places.
  3. Hard body.
  4. Wind roared through here about 1 AM, power was knocked out for 4 hours. No damage that I can see, except for a lot of limbs and leaves lying around. Hopefully all are well.
  5. I have one in that same color. Threw it for about 10 casts on Beaver yesterday, got two fish to swirl at it, neither touched it. It wakes well at slow speed, has a great looking swimming action, and has a deep kind of wood sounding knock. I'm sure it will catch fish, but is it better than old reliable, the Redfin?
  6. No, I did not see any beds or fish on the shore, I didn't look in a lot of places, but did check out a couple of pockets that I thought should have had beds.
  7. Fished from daylight until 1:30 PM, picked up 14 black bass, fish were scattered, one of those days where I'd get a bite every once in a while. Caught some decent fish, a couple of large mouth on a crank, a meanmouth and smalle on a c-rigged craw that were all 2.5-2.75 lb. fish. Some where out on the main channel, some half way back in coves, in 5-15 FOW. Water temps 63-64.
  8. Some great fish for sure, and sounds like it was a good time!
  9. Well today over at Beaver I caught one of those green meanies on a crank bait. It was a tussle I tell you, son of a gun made a drag pulling run at a pile of cedars, had to clamp my thumb on the spool and pull on that rod as hard as I could to turn him (thank goodness for 15 lb. line). Gave me a few anxious moments at the boat as he kept diving under the boat and making runs at the trolling motor. he went airborne a couple times also, probably cleared water by a good 4 feet - what a fight! Here's a pic I took, didn't weigh him, wanted to get him back in the water quickly.
  10. Love those chunky spots!
  11. Some very respectable fish - I like that meanie in the 2nd pic!
  12. Very nice Robert, some great fish fry material there!
  13. Really close in the standings, have to wonder how Norfolk will fish tomorrow, didn't put out much size on day one. I'm rooting for my home town guy McClelland.
  14. The Rock has been relatively tough this spring, yeah some guys are getting them good of course, but it is not an easy deal out there. You might want to take a break from the tourneys, just get out there and fish and not have to worry about getting enough to weigh in. Experiment with some different stuff and just have fun. I have heard this story before - guys get into the tournament grind, get burned out and quit fishing. Get out and just have fun.
  15. Thanks for the report, sounds like some great fishing. Fish Doctor bite is a lot of fun.
  16. According to Basstrak, Powroznik has 5 in the box for 15 and change, and it's only 9 AM.
  17. I see that every time I fish one, but it usually happens when a fish grabs it and I swing and miss. Could be, like you are saying, the bait isn't rigged on there straight. If I had a bait that was doing that a lot, I'd cut it off and try another. Could be bluegills jacking around with it, but you should be able to feel them when they bite it.
  18. Very nice, those are some quality fish!
  19. Just took a look at BassTrak - It has Biffle in the lead with a 21 lb. and change bag for today. He almost always throws a wobble head, don't know if he threw it today, but I think it's a safe bet he did. BassTrak can sometimes be wrong. they should be weighing in soon..
  20. A really nice day to be out on the water. Caught 14 bass, one smallie and one largemouth that were around the 15" mark, and the rest were pretty much all 12-14" spots. Had the yips today, lost a couple of nice bass in the 2-3 lb. range at the boat and had a couple of hard pullers that got off before I could see them. Sometimes the fish win. Fish were off the banks a bit in 5-15 FOW. Most of the fish came on Carolina rigged lizards and craws. Caught one on a jig, and one on a wobbler. Tried a Whopper Plopper for a while early, but they did not like it. Caught what I believe is a meanie, but sure looks like a spot in the pic. He was darker than he looks.
  21. Hey hope your wife is doing better! Good luck on the fishing!
  22. Great fish Dave (and Dave)!
  23. I see Davis with 5 for 12 and change.
  24. Saw this pic on Bass Blaster. Caught on Oneida lake in NY. Considerable long arming going on, but a nice meanie. No weight given.
  25. Just checked in on the weigh in. A couple of big names, Evers and KVD did not catch limits. As in 3 fish for 5 lbs. or so. Leader is at 17.
