  1. I hate ticks...
  2. Reading in the paper that the AGFC bios are collecting big largemouth bass (some from the FLW catches) for brood stock. Their goal is to collect 500 bass and put them in the Beaver lake nursery pond and they anticipate being able to stock 500,000 fingerlings this year into Beaver. This is to offset the anticipated low spawning success due to low water this year.
  3. Yep, I fished the rivers of the Pac NW for years for salmon and steelhead, I've seen several fights on the bank, nothing funnier than watching 2 guys roll around in the mud wrasslin on a cold winter day. Stupid stuff, but entertaining.
  4. Yep I agree, a Mizzou vs Hogs annual football game would be a great thing and create that rivalry atmosphere. Currently the "official" AR rivalry game is with LSU for the boot, but I just don't sense that heated rivalry feeling, especially from LSU. It's just a manufactured rivalry IMO.
  5. New leader, Stacey King still hanging in there. looks to be about 8-9 lbs. back. Steve Meadors of Bella Vista took the co-angler title, congrats Steve! http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/flw/tournament/2013/6945/beaver-lake-professional-results/
  6. So I guess by that logic, if it's not headline news it ain't happening.
  7. Some great fish you got there, nice to see those quality spots.
  8. There's plenty of complaining about the big fiber glass noise and wake makers. Once summer rolls around, start a thread about how annoying it is to have a ski boat fly by 50 feet from your boat while you're fishing, you'll get lots of response.
  9. Well Roland fell off the map, only 5 lbs. on day 2. A couple of old-timers made the cut, Stacey King and Jimmy Houston. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/flw/tournament/2013/6945/beaver-lake-professional-results/
  10. Fished out of the back of Jeb's boat today, I always enjoy roaming his back deck. The fishing was outstanding numbers wise, we caught close to 60 black bass, probably about 60% spots, the rest being mostly male LM's with a couple of smallies and meanmouth thrown in. It was one of those quantity, not quality days, biggest bass was maybe 2.5 lbs. and we might have had 10 keepers total. Best baits were t-rigged tubes and c-rigged craws. Rocky flats and secondary points midway back in coves were the places to get them, stay in contact with the bottom and slow drag the plastics and you should catch fish up in the White. Water temps were 52 - 54. Jeb also got a couple of keeper walleye on the craw, and we picked up several nice whites to boot. I'm assuming these are the bigger female whites as they were around 2 lbs. but looks like they've got a ways to go before they get up to the Holiday Island area. Funny how the spots have suddenly become active, wish we could have found some of those nice 3 lb. spots but just couldn't seem to find them, maybe next time..
  11. I've also heard a story from someone who was a back seater with Roland that he was not a pleasant guy, but I've never met Roland so can't say so myself.
  12. Drew Benton in the lead with 18+ lbs. Roland Martin is tied for 9th only 3 lbs. back. It would be neat to see Roland pull it off, I believe he is 72 now, so I would have to think he'd be the oldest to win an FLW if he pulled it off. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/flw/tournament/2013/6945/beaver-lake-professional-results/
  13. Very nice, congrats
  14. Great day! Thanks for the report.
  15. Nice one!
  16. Wow, heck of a deal for some great reels, I've got more than enough reels right now, but it sure is tempting.
  17. Raining hard here in Bella Vista right now, getting some flash BOOM action also, lightning striking, then right away BOOM accompanied with some house rattling. Looks like the heavy rain stretches down south past Fayetteville, so I'm wondering if the creeks and rivers are going to get a little bump and push the lake up a foot or two. Be interesting to see how this effects the FLW boys, cold temps, lake coming up, potential for muddy river arms, I'm real interested to see what these guys use and how well they do. my guess is they'll be throwing the A-rig a lot. That is if the A-rig is still legal on the FLW and I believe it is.
  18. Yeah I don't see him as being a good NBA prospect, he might be able to play overseas and I guess a player gets paid reasonably well playing over there, but it's not NBA money. He'd be better served to stay in school, take advantage of his scholarship and get a degree that gives him some kind of marketable skill.
  19. Good on you for taking the kids out fishing!
  20. Another InvisX user here on spinning tackle and AbazX on BC's.
  21. You should have waded in right next to him, given him a little pinch on the butt, and asked him if he was looking for a boyfriend. More than likely it would spook him and he would take off, only problem would be if he said yes, then you'd have to figure a way out. But seriously, you'll run into jackasses out there whether it's a river or lake, best thing to do, as you did, is just walk off and let them have their fun.
  22. It's up Aunts creek.....just kidding, I don't know where it is.
  23. Yep great report ab, that's a nice spot BTW. I hear you on that wind, I've stayed around the house doing chores rather than going out and fighting that wind. Did you need much of a pause to get them to hit the McStick? I'm thinking with the wind it would have been tough to do a long pause.
  24. I would call that a good start, nice pair of bass.
  25. Yes a very nice eye!
