  1. It was ugly, what a disappointment.
  2. Way to go Champ! Nice to see some bass being whipped!
  3. WASHINGTON — First, the blackbirds fell out of the sky on New Year's Eve in Arkansas. In recent days, wildlife have mysteriously died in big numbers: 2 million fish in the Chesapeake Bay, 150 tons of red tilapia in Vietnam, 40,000 crabs in Britain and other places across the world. Blogs connected the deadly dots, joking about the "aflockalypse" while others saw real signs of something sinister, either biblical or environmental. The reality, say biologists, is that these mass die-offs happen all the time and usually are unrelated. I still say it is UFO's,
  4. More dead fish, but in Chesapeake bay. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40947831/ns/us_news-environment/
  5. No prob, sometimes it's hard to tell when people are kidding around or not.
  6. They know the difference, do you?
  7. For the record, the fish in Lake Norwood are Saugeye, not Sauger. And I don't know if there are enough of them in the lake to make it worthwhile to target them. You also have to be a property owner in Bella Vista to fish the lakes here or fish with a propert owner.
  8. Oprah killed the blackbirds?
  9. Actually a sub-sonic sonic boom is created when a aircraft flies BACKWARDS and breaks the sound barrier, since no earthmade aircraft can exceed the speed of sound by flying backwards, it was obviously a UFO flying backwards that created the sub-sonic sonic boom. So it's obvious, a UFO killed the blackbirds.
  10. That's either a really big fish or it's a really small guy.
  11. The Benton County Daily record had a short article about the tournament, the winners said they used crawdad colored cranks, jerkbaits and jigs. Targeting windy banks between Prairie Creek and the dam. One of the members of the 2nd place team was the son of one of the members of the winning team, they weighed in with 14.94 lbs. 3rd place was 14.7 lbs.
  12. Yesterdays paper reported a Drum dieoff in the Arkansas river, upstream of Little Rock, several thousand kaput, but other species not affected. Fish and Game folks are scratching their heads, they took a few away for analysis.
  13. Those are some very nice linesides you go there. I might head down that way tomorrow afternoon, but will probably look for black bass, but if a striper gets in the way, I won't complain.
  14. Very nice!
  15. Welcome! Great to see another Beaver lake fisherman on here.
  16. Based on the weather forecast, it's going to be very "Polar" in the AM Saturday. Hopefully someone can post the results, it will be interesting to see what the winners bag weight is.
  17. I've heard good things about the JM Gold on other bass forums, never tried one myself. I do have a Curado, it's a not a bad reel, but I prefer my Revo Premiers.

Nope, I am not a walleye fisherman, I catch some accidently while bass fishing. That link Wildeye provided does have some good info. I might try it myself one of these days if I can just put down the bass stuff. Mouth of War Eagle sounds like a great place to start for the walleyes.
  19. A timely article, we may have reached peak gasoline consumprion here in the US in 2008 according to this article and may be on a downward trend. Only problem, as far as global warming is concerned, is that other nations will continue to increase their gasoline consumption offsetting our decrease. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40755238/ns/business-stocks_and_economy/

Nice Walleye! I fish the Lost Bridge area quite a bit myself, it can be a tough area to fish.
  21. Now we've got a bunch of movie critics I liked that scene where the pirates (or whatever they were) were attacking that floating town thing and they guy was shooting it up with the quad 50's, and Costner, using his catamran, turns it so he shoots up Hopper's command vessel. And when Hopper decides he wants to move that oil tanker, his troops all grab oars and start rowing - that was classic.
  22. I 2nd the reocmmendation for Tim Hughes.
  23. Ahh yes, the River Runt, that was my go to bait back around 1970 (I was 13 then) when we lived in Michigan and had some bass ponds within walking distance of my house. I might still have one in my old tackle box, I'll have to dig it out and check. I think I have a Lucky 13 or two that belonged to my grandpa. My grandpa and dad used to make a road trip every year to Table Rock back in the early 60's. The way they talked about it, it sounded like it was as close to a fishing paradise as any you could find on this earth. Lots of crappie and big, stupid bass.
  24. Yes, thanks for the info, and good luck in the tourney!
  25. I threw a black hair jig and eel around one of the lakes here in Bella Vista, did not get a bite. I was a little disappointed, I dragged it through some brush piles and for sure thought I would get a bite. Switched to a suspending jerk bait and picked a couple of fish up. Only fished about three hours, too darn cold and windy.
