  1. Sounds like the white bite has begun! Congrats on a good day.
  2. Good job, glad to see they are hitting the DC jig.
  3. Lake jumped a foot and a half.
  4. Mondotackle.com now sells shroom heads in 1/8 and 1/16 with a choice of manufacturers (all size 1) hooks, at least on the 1/16. They are unpainted (except chartreuse) and lacking weedguards.
  5. They're kind of fun, I've caught them fishing jigs on Grand - they'll HAMMER that jig, and like you say fight hard for a bit - then they give up. I can certainly understand why guys fishing tourneys don't want to be bothered by them, but I don't mind getting bit by them when I'm fun fishing.
  6. In the world of canned meats, I prefer Spam. It's much more versatile. Cold spam out of the can, fried spam and eggs, spam spaghetti, spam with Alfredo sauce, spam sandwiches, spam salad....
  7. Cool, Ned may have to make a trip to Grand, if, as Champ says, all the bass are dead, I hear Ned is a great drum catcher!
  8. My dad graduated from Wichita State, so I can pull for them.
  9. I'm not disappointed the Hogs did not make it either, except that I believe it does help recruiting to be able to say to a recruit that they can play for a team (coach) that has a track record of making the NCAA tourney.
  10. Might have been, silver F-150 towing a black/silver Phoenix.
  11. Guys, it all boils down to laziness, after a day of fishing, last thing I want to do is clean fish.
  12. I don't throw the rig either, not much fun IMO. But to win a tourney right now it sounds as if you have to throw it.
  13. Could have been, I was all over the place trying to find spots that didn't already have boats on them.
  14. AR Democrat Gazette had an article noting that February 27th was the 10 year anniversary of the Ivory billed being seen in the Arkansas green timber. The 2 guys that reported it still stand by their assertion that they did in fact see one that day. I hope that there are some out there, but no verifiable evidence has surfaced that they still exist.
  15. The ground outside is now snow covered, but the roads are only wet. Pretty darned windy to boot. And it's a cold wind. Grrrrr.....
  16. Looks like a great day! It was a zoo yesterday.
  17. I wonder if it would work at Grand lake in the stained water? Those fish probably see very little of "Ned".
  18. Some Brown draft info from NBA draft.net: The leading scorer in the entire SEC conference, Brown has been on a tear of late knocking down 3 or more three pointers in each of his past 8 games going 29 of 50 (58%). He's shooting 47% from 3 on the year and doing so on a high volume of makes, averaging 3 per game. Brown struggled to live up to the expectations in his first two seasons after being a McDonald's All American, but has really found his game and become a force playing alongside point guard Jordan Clarkson. Brown is expected to leave after this season according to sources and is now considered a bubble first rounder for the 2014 draft. He has been a model of consistency scoring in double figures in every game this season. His measurements will likely be a critical factor as he appears to be closer to 6'4 than 6'5.
  19. Looking out the window, I now see snow.
  20. This morning definitely meets my definition of bad weather.
  21. I just can't get excited about the NIT, but if somehow it leads to another Hogs/Mizzou matchup I'd probably watch that game.
  22. I'll also add that if you get snagged up on some line, pull it in if you can and get it out of the lake. I pulled in a 20 yard stretch of mono yesterday on TR.
  23. I've got a Phoenix.
  24. A bit of a slow day today, caught a dozen bass, but most were 12" dinks, only one keeper that was 16" or so. Caught the fish on tubes and the Ned rig. Did catch a 20" Wallie on the Ned. Toted him around in the live well hoping for a 2nd eye to make it worth cleaning, but could not find #2, so the eye got to swim free. Water temps 43-48.
