Some kind of bot fly, lays egg, burrows under skin and grows and eats. Nasty critters. Some call them warble worms.

Fox squirrels are just tough usually unless you have a good scope and can pick a young one off. They fight the greys and make it tough on them. But the Fox Squirrel has more meat and has a bigger head, easier target. I prefer greys when hunting. Wolf worms seem to like the Fox squirrels better too.
  4. No pic of the bleeding, mangled mess?
  5. My experience, the phermones in the traps just lure them to ya. Spray and kill the ones that are eating your stuff and look for the source of the invasion. Mine was a nearby grape vineyard that has went defunkt and plowed under now. Don't see many beetles any more.
  6. Simply posting it on F Book gets it out to all of the locals. These are challenging times, THEY are all in it together ruining what WE enjoy.
  7. Turnips, radishes, lettuce and other fall cold crops. Second plant of squash and cucs sometimes works. But dry weather can make it hard on them.
  8. I did read the current viral load is significantly lower than the peak in April. Its not making anyone really sick.
  9. We are a stand your ground state. But, I would not be surprised to see a charge of brandishing a firearm at the least. May get by with that in the country, but city folk have different rules about firearms in public. I doubt if she ever has used a gun, she is holding it wrong. And what guy would dress like him if he had any money. I think it is staged. Or just stupid people doing what they have been doing lately.
  10. Its just small town MO. Come on down some time and enjoy the compound.. Jerry Springer ain't got nothing on Wayne County.
  11. Probably a bunch of white Democrat kids that showed up not knowing what was going on...... They had one in Ste Genevieve a couple of weeks back, the Oldest French German town this side of old Miss. Same thing.
  12. Now is the time to be self sufficient. Keep up the good work.
  13. Yep, I have run across several that wondered who I was. When I let them know the word "landowner" they seem to take a different perspective. We are a "stand your ground state". That seems to carry a little weight.
  14. My scenario worked out perfect. i rolled in afternoon and confronted 2 parties, one invited and the other the Ahole neighbor that owns property that joins us. Neither knew the ones from Friday but knew quickly where I stood. The mess was still there and we stayed at the house and did our thing. While we were there, fight broke out and invited party slugged it out with Ahole. All ended up leaving with tails between there legs. Found out about it this morning. The one I worried about turned out to be a good Ally, more trust worthy than what I expected. Took some research from other family members to get the whole picture. Dropping a gate in next weekend to stop it all. The gam cam showed 20 different vehicles throughout the week from the party crowd. One night, it lasted until after 4 am, catching a bunch of people. It missed the dually that really caused the stir on Friday but caught the Razor Side by Side and the little Side by Side that have been coming down the creek bed from other locations. Let MDC agents see that as the creek beds are getting wore slick from a bunch of city slickers that bought a 10 acre property upstream and have moved in 10 high dollar campers and running amoke on everyone trespassing. No shots fired and no law called. Yet. A few phone calls and I found out info on most of what I had been seeing on the game cam this spring. The caddie that went thru one nite was a thief with a known record. Still looking for the little late nite Japanese extended cab that came thru, he is unknown.
  15. Pretty much the same around here. Call the sheriff and make a report for theft. Get a call a week later, did you figure out who did it yet? Nope, you are the detective. If I had figured it out, there "might" have been a call about a man with a gun...........
  16. Has been dry around here too. Little shower last night strained all of the Sahara sand out of the clouds onto the cars. Made a nasty mess.
  17. Nice Tackle HD display at local farm store now. Somebody is cranking them out. Well stocked even with the shortages going on now.
  18. Universities tend to support that kind of thinking. She may have to sit out a semester. Have to keep an eye on what unfolds there. A city will not last long without law enforcement. County dept will not be able to fill in the gaps. Fire and paramedic will falter without support also. Some speculation I have seen think 2 amend will be supressed also leaving the law abiding defenseless. We are running aground pretty fast
  19. Looks like they are going to break up Minn police dept, voted 12-0 for it. See how a city copes without law enforcement now. I guess county sheriff will have to step up his game.
  20. Started busting up a rally in the backyard this week. Ran Game cams the other nite an saw many coons, possums, armadillo, feral cats, several stray dogs, and one big ole doe deer. Nailed a 2 fer last nite. Must have a big litter after feeding on my bees all spring. 3 kits relocated now and counting.
  21. I was hoping Covid would have that affect on human population myself. Our mental gene pool is getting pretty shallow. I am sure that fisheries management will have to do a study about this year. People are not travelling far and seem to have lots of free time with all of the government cheese floating around. They all seem to be heading outdoors. Yaks, bikes, tents, campers, side by sides, boats are everywhere
  22. Picking cherry and sun sugar now, big tomatoes foundering from something. Found a few plants last weekend an put them out in pots. Green beans have been putting on for a few weeks now. Peppers about thumb size. Zuc and cucs blooming but not setting fruits. Having to water every other day, finally hit a dry spell
  23. That's a good thing, over here, only the counties around St. Louis inspect construction outside city limits. Lots of rinky dink buildings go down every year.
  24. County law enforcement is pretty weak out there. But it is an election year. I think I know most of them, so there should not be an issue. The foreigners the brought in, not sure. They don't seem to value others property lines. I really worry about the quality of all future fishing in Mo after this year. Lots of people outdoors.
  25. Beware of "cheap" pole barns. Non engineered building tend to squash whats in them under a ice load or blow away easy in the wind. Make sure they have engineer approval.
