  1. Not my fault, some other poor sob raised his son and did not teach him the great outdoors. He is going to be a small engine mechanic, maybe he can at least tune my boat. She laughs at the fact that she can shoot a gun and has her own, he has not even shot one.
  2. Have a metal fabricator make you some. I have not seen any commercially made as an addon. All I have ever seen came with the boat from the boat shop. Find someone good with metal and have them custom made to fit the contours of your boat.
  3. Bad thing about girls is they grow up and find other guys to hang out with. My little girl was my hunting and fishing buddy till she turned 18 and graduated. Now she can never find the time to spend with me because of the other guy. And he does not hunt or fish. And for some reason he is a little skittish around me when I suggest we go hunting too.
  4. Back to the church, here is an interesting story of a Snowball coming back from the dead. http://www.wjtv.com/story/24845099/holmes-county-man-prnounced-dead-now-back-to-life
  5. I found 2 dead during the snow in Dec and have shot 2 on the farm since. There is no shortage. We do need the rain. Last time I checked ramps on Diversion Channel, there was about 15 foot of gravel past the end of the concrete and not enough water to run or launch a boat. I was looking to get out for some walleye,
  6. No human hands unless the butchers lose one chopping up things. Mini dogs are made of the stuff they scoop off the floor in the processing plant and I am sure they use a shovel.
  7. Hopefully it will thin out the ticks and armadillos. As of last week, 6 out of 6 bee hives have survived the winter. But it looks like we are probably going to get another month of winter the way things are going.
  8. They have been heading north by the hundreds for a week now. They were taking advantage of the south winds last week.
  9. When it is nice and cold in a duck blind, the goo gels and you can just flick it out of the can like a booger. I only eat the mini dogs at freezing temps.
  10. I don't see the jalapeno ones, those are pretty tasty. May have been renamed to hot and spicy since fall. Duck blind staple food. Good for enticeing the blugills that live under the blind too.
  11. You could attach it to the post. I can't attach mp3, I do not have permissions.
  12. Right click and Save as File? Then copy to device you want to play them on.
  13. They can alter the Olympics too. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/02/20/video-shows-wolf-walking-through-sochi-athletes-village
  14. Hilltop view with nice breeze.
  15. You have to do a roux or the crock pot thing would not be as good I am thinking. It is a mixture that makes it all taste right. I wonder how they come up with the roux thing. Of course, I wonder about a lot of things in life.
  16. I think he shut it down and let everyone cool off. People are so sensitive on here.....
  17. Ness, great idea to make the roux. I hate standing around stirring the stuff to keep from scorching. That would have made my etoufee alot easier the other night also. This recipe should work well on the white bass run here in about a month, I will give it a shot.
  18. Anything over waist deep water if temps are below 50 and I have a jacket or an inflatable on. Knock on wood, I have not had to use it yet. My friends son dumped his yak duck hunting a lake in the dark last year, water was about 20 ft deep and cold. Yaks float no matter what and he was able to stay with it and get to the bank. He was calm and did not yell out, all we heard was a weird thrashing around. We did not know about it till he rowed up.
  19. High clear knoll overlooking the river with a good view on all sides, Limited access so you don't have to waste much time laying trip wires and have more for drinking. Pick a quiet spot so the slightest noise will awaken you from your drunken slumber to defend camp in case of intruder meth heads or mountain lions. Clear fields of fire and plenty of bright lights.
  20. What caused the outage over the weekend? I noticed the forum was down from Sat around 8 till about 11 or so on Sunday. It kept showing a sql server error or something like that when it loaded under the header.
  21. Could be the thaw, everyone is thinking about going Fishing.
  22. Lead balloon! Only need a few of them to fill a freezer. You would need a cricket the size of a mouse for bait.
  23. I just thought it got the big ole delete button, but like others, the issue had to be linked to politics. His post was not the one I was thinking of, I thought it was kinda harmless.
  24. Wow, if I knew it was that easy, I should have done it a long time ago. The tides did not mess with you are were you far enough inland? I would just be happy eating a fresh supply of seafood for several days. That oyster po boy has my mouth watering.
  25. The net bags would allow the spores to fall from the mushrooms to the ground where a solid bag would not. But there is more needed to get the mushrooms to grow. The actual fungus grows in the ground thru out the year and only "fruits" and develops a mushroom when the conditions are right. The mushroom does release the spores that spread the mushroom and they develop in the folds of the main body. The fungus part is thought to have a symbiotic relationship with roots of trees and needs the tree to develop. I have best luck around sycamore, ash, poplar, catalpa, elm, apple, and oaks. They are usually found in loose fertile soil with leafy cover. Too much leaf cover and the mushroom does not break thru and they are hard to find. If one could grow them commercially, it would be a great accomplishment. But for the most part, it seems like they will always be a "wild" product.
