  1. That won't even begin to fill my high capacity mags...
  2. My cousin was killed last night by an out of control Toyota 4 Runner. If I was a Democrat right now, I would sell my 4 Runner as it has been deemed a killer. And I would lobby the Government to ban All 4 Runners as they are proven killers. But I am not. I know what the real killer was. It was the human behind the wheel.
  3. I think mankind will be alright without the croutch critters. Let the monkeys have them back.....
  4. Where did you find a place with green trees on Friday? Stay away from those liberal virus infested sites and your computer will not get sick.
  5. I don't recall anything in the Constitution preserving your right to drive that fast. But I do remember a time when you could drive that fast on the interstate. I think people were held accountable for their own actions and did not need the Government to tell them what to do. Then the fuel shortages of the Carter years came along and it was dropped to 55. They, the government, claimed it saved lives and gas. But they have raised it since.
  6. Expanding the apiary to at least 5 hives this spring with 2 locations. Building wooden ware and getting ready for expansion sometime in late March. Daughter graduates in May. Several weekends already booked with friends and work. Arkansas float trips booked for this year, 4 of them, May thru July. Somewhere there will be a garden.
  7. Hmmm....
  8. Yes we do, Hopefully this spring and summer will be better than last year. My yak only hit the water in Spring River and I did not do much wading or floating because of low water and drought. Then there is that free time thing.
  9. I can't see the video on dialup, but you are describing a lamprey. I am not sure of them in the 11pt watershed, but I guess it is possible.
  10. I read about it over on life science website this week. Military is looking at it as a coating on new clothing to make it waterproof, breathable, and reduce laundry by deflecting dirt and blood. I does have possibilities in our applications.
  11. Gavin, if you fished more, you would not have to sell your lures. You could just leave them in the trees for others to find.
  12. That chasm is pretty deep when you are a rural conservative Republican. Why don't they take the money directed by Executive Order directing money back to the CDC to track how guns transmit communicable diseases. That money was pulled along time ago as it was government directed data that supported Anti Gun Legislation. Gun deaths should be tracked by someone like the FBI. But the Executive Order put that money back into the CDC's pocket instead of the school system to harden the security. Has anyone done a study on the actual costs of hardening our public schools to help avoid this anyway? Most schools have a SRO already, have some kind of a lockdown procedure, and controlled access. How much money would it really take to further secure our public school system?
  13. I would second Charlie Reading in your neck of the woods. Or hire a flyfishing only guide for a day and have him teach you to cast. Or if you make it to St Louis, FeatherCraft and T Hargroves does them on the weekends sometimes. Usually you will get some good lessons just trying out a rod in the yard. I took the Orvis class years ago and came up with some pretty good pointers. But I was self taught and my style was hard to change as it was already ingrained into me for several years of flyfishing before the class. Keep an eye out, the fly shops usually have a fishing clinic weekend during the season and they go over basics there.
  14. With the fear of a gun grab going around, there are many new gun owners out there that have never owned them before. Gunshops in my area are stripped of AR's, Handguns, Defensive Shotguns, and Ruger 10-22's. Lots of new gun owners out there. There are bound to be accidents. That is why I am pushing for more training.
  15. Why not? With a nice bull barrel and a good scope, you can nail a bunch of them. I have several friends that use them when they go out. I personally have not had the opportunity. Cheap brass, cheap to reload = cheap shooting. Or you can swap uppers and start in with 22lr.
  16. I have not spent much time in that area, but friends have. I wonder why he left a road and hit a trail when it was raining and he had no rain gear?
  17. Dang, the media got something wrong?
  18. There is only one man to really believe in. The rest could be fakes. You really should not believe in false idols either.
  19. I really don't think the problems with the mental illness are the ones that forget stuff or have a stroke. It is schitzophrenia and other agressive split personality disorders that we have to worry about. Ones like the lady a few weeks ago that was getting her kicks pushing people in front of trains. And ones like the attack on Gabby Giffords, the movie theater, and the school. Violent mental illness is the issue. Surely the drugs to treat the individuals could be flagged in the system and the individuals on them could be blackballed to where they could not buy a firearm. The trouble is, the ACLU protects their rights to privacy and they do not show up in databases.
  20. What if you are hunting multiple animals? While prarie dog hunting, it is common to go thru several hundred rounds a day. That is where the AR and a 30 round mag comes in handy. For deer and other animals, 10 rounds in both the AR and my 10-22. Deer usually only take 1 shot most of the time, unless I decide to fill multiple tags, buck and doe, 2 does. Squirrels sometimes fall several at a time from the 10-22.
  21. Sorry, I did not see the black folk part, I thought it was just people in general. I am not a racist. I have just grown sick and tired of people coming up with numbers that seem to support their cause, did not read the fine print. And I thought JOED was going to shove it all up the anti gunners butt, I may have mistaken that too........
  22. Exactly, too many people in the world today. Something has to thin them out.
  23. It did not stop Columbine, Jonesboro, or any of the others that happened after Columbine. Sandy Hook was in a state that still had most of the original gun ban in place, mags were banned. Why do it? Because they have been itching to do it again since the last ban was lifted. They just love to pee us gun owners off with worthless legislation. And it creates a distraction from what they should really be doing like creating a budget, controlling the debt, and all of the other stuff we elected them for.
  24. I can count the holes in the mag you left in the box...... Better save your ammo, it is gone around here. 22lr, 9mm, 40, 45, 223 all gone bye bye. What you have in reserve is all you will have till this thing gets caught up again. Our XD shelf at the store is pretty bare, as is Glock, M&P, SIG, Ruger, and others. We still have some Berettas, 1911's, Kahr's, and other misc auto. Mostly 40's, 9's and 45's went quick.
