  1. I'm guilty of the same thing here where I'm at. My buddy floated the Bourb yesterday and had an awesome day, dirty water and all. He put in less than 30 minutes from my house. What can i say, I am lazy.
  2. I won't be able to make that one. The bass club I fish has a tournament that day.
  3. My buddy and and a friend fished up in that vicinity somewhere this weekend. He said it was tough, but they still ended up catching 30 keepers. Biggest fish was a 3# largemouth that choked a custom made buzzbait.
  4. If he is getting a Helix 9 g2n with mega imaging, then he will need to install the new transducer for the MEGA imaging to work. If it is a gen 1 Helix, then the HD SI that came with the 899 can stay on there. I believe the gen1 Helix 9 came with the smaller non HD side imaging transducer. The HDSI that came with the 899 will give produce a better image than the shorter SI transducer anyways.
  5. I was down at Lazy Valley for a family reunion the past few days and got plenty of fishing in as well. My dad and relatives had no problem catching their limits with crawlers and salmon peach powerbait off the dock in the AM when the water was off. They also caught 10 nice white suckers on the crawlers. That was a nice bonus since we haven't done very well on them in several years. Myself and the fiance mainly fished out of the boat using the pink power worm and 1/16oz jigs. Jig colors were black and orange head sculpin/orange. Black was the most productive. Monkey Island produced decent as did Short Creek area, but there were a lot of runts. I ended up finding better quality rainbows in front of the first long dock above Lilley's with the wooden shack in the middle. Most of the fish we caught in that area were 11-15". My fiance got big fish for the stay with a chunky 17.5" bow that weighed 2.55# on my digital scale. She caught it on a white thread jig Friday morning just below the buoy near Lilley's.

  7. Not yet. We brought dads1860 Tracker grizzly. My boat should be done next week. That is what i was told the Friday before last.
  8. I know it is hard to tell feom the picture, my family likes dachshunds. The front middle red is Scarlett and the black and tan to the right is Gunnar. The other three are my parents. The black and tan is Norman, the small red is Sadie and the big red is Red.
  9. It poured off and on for us from Rolla all the way to Branson. It finally cleared up and the sun popped out about 20-30 minutes ago. Hopefully it stays that way for a while so I can get out on Taney and aore lip some trout.
  10. I don't mind a skinny gravel riffle. It's the ones like above Roaring Springs with actual rocks that I'm leery of. Stanton has two of those spots within a few miles of the ramp. I've fished out of Onondaga and Campbell a few times, but I don't recall seeing any of those can openers in those areas, but maybe the water wasn't low enough either.
  11. That area gets beat heavily by jet boat traffic. I'd stay above Jerome if I were floating. I floated up around Waynesville recently and it was awesome. Never saw another person on the water until we took out near Highway 7. Fishing hasn't been very good down around Rollins and Pointers this year either. Paydown on up has been far better.
  12. I'm slowly gaining ground, but tourneys 1, 5 and 6 really put me in the hole.
  13. I'm going to branch out and go with some lower ownership guys this time around. I've got to do something to try and make up some ground. I'd be sitting pretty good if it wasn't for absolutely bombing a few of the tourneys this year.
  14. Looks similar to the black cherry variety that we planted. They are delicious!
  15. 4-21-37-44-72 after day 1. Palaniuk is the #72 spot. I figured he would have been one of my top guys in this one.
  16. It is just like flick shaking a stick worm, but the hooks and baits are smaller profile. Sometimes they prefer the worm nose hooked and I may try a stinger for that setup if they are short striking.
  17. Hard to put a stinger hook on a 3" trout worm without screwing with the action though. It's a lot easier when you're using bass size soft plastics.
  18. I've looked at my fly rod case the past few times I've headed down there and then didn't mess with it. I really need to get back in to it one of these days. Maybe next month when I head down to Taneycomo, I will break it out again.
  19. Dad and I ran down Friday evening. The water is low and clear and the fishing was much tougher. I ended up catching five and dad caught four. He got his drifting a 1" piece of an orange trout worm on a jighead beneath and indicator in the faster water below riffles. A few of mine came from the same water as well as down by the bridge on a green/white rubber leg jig. I tried a trout worm and had several bites, but they wouldn't eat it well enough to get the hook in their mouth for a hook set. The numbers of fish in the park was pretty low compared to when I was there last time.
  20. We finally got a few tomatoes. The red is a big beef and the other is a Cherokee Purple. The small ones are black cherry. If all goes well, we should be loaded up here shortly with Cherokee Purples. We have four of them and they all have quite a few big tomatoes that haven't started turning yet.
  21. That stinks, Brett. Hopefully they get the kinks worked out soon.
  22. Congrats again on a great fish!
  23. Well good news and bad news. The good news is we finally got our first ripe tomatoes, which were black cherries. The bad news is two of my tomato plants caught some sort of disease and died on me. I planted tomatoes in this raised bed a few years ago and the same thing happened to the plants in that same spot. The other plants in the bed are still going strong and look great. The plants that died were looking good and then wilted down to nothing within a matter of days. The side boards are getting worn out so I may just tear it down and build a new bed in another location with fresh soil next year anyways.
  24. If you are still having troubles getting the image to upload, you can email it to seth_turner_04@hotmail.com and I will post it for you. I've had issues uploading images on my IOS devices since the last forum upgrade.
