  1. Lots of 50+ mph (some much faster than that) rigs on the rivers these days. My 40mph 150hp setup is low man on the totem pole. They aren't running those anywhere but the long straight stretches though.

    Anybody Go Out Today?

I've had several others try it and they all seemed to enjoy it. I'm going to eat the last of it for lunch today and then use the left over thigh/leg meat to make some street tacos for dinner tonight.

    1) Pressure cook thighs/legs for 90 minutes at 15lbs of pressure or just simmer in an open pot long enough to get the meat tender so you can remove it from the bones and tendons. I usually add some beef or chicken bouillon to the water during this process to infuse a little more flavor. 2) Shred the meat and mix it with a can of mixed veggies and some beef or chicken gravy. I took the easy way out and used Heintz canned beef gravy for mine. 3) Lay 9" pie crust in a pie pan, add filling and add second 9" pie crust on top. Seal edges, poke holes for vents and bake in oven at 425 for 45 minutes (or until crust is golden). I'd imagine you could use fresh ingredients, homemade gravy and a variety of seasonings to make it even better.

    Anybody Go Out Today?

I was guilty of doing breasting them out and throwing the rest away up until 3-4 years ago. Makes me feel bad knowing how much good meat I wasted of the year on my turkeys. I'm sure the coons and other critters enjoyed it though.

No. I took the easy way out and used canned gravy, canned mixed veggies and two preformed pie crusts.

I pressure cooked the legs and thighs to separate the meat from the bones/tendons and made some pot pies. Super simple and tasty! There was about half a quart bag of meat left over so I'll probably make tacos out of that in a few days once the pot pies are gone.
  7. Last year was terrible for me. I never even set eyes on a tom. This morning was much better. Got out of the truck at 6am and bird was flopping at 6:31am. Got lucky and finally had one break away from the flock and roost solo across the field from my blind. He gobbled twice on the roost and once at me after he hit the ground. A few moments later he came running in at full strut and put a whoopin on my jake decoy before taking some #5s to the noggin. 19.5# 10” beard 1” spurs
  8. Not sure if you've been living under a rock or what but anglers have been video game fishing LONG before Livescope became a thing. Drop shotting Kentuckies and vertical jigging brush piles for crappie has been going on forever with 2D units on the trolling motor. Livescope and other FFS has turned it in to a horizontal approach now instead of just vertical though.
  9. I've bought locally and through Cabelas as well and it was always super quick for me. Apparently that ain't always the case though. Most people must not the cleanest records or something.
  10. Just do it like Wheeler did a few years ago....😁
  11. and then you have guys like Josh Jones that are now using Active Target after using Livescope for years and still crushing giant bass and crappie like no other. One may look prettier than the other, but the guy behind it is the real factor. They will catch them regardless of which brand they use. Lowrance was smart to get him onboard IMO. It amazes me how people will buy something because so and so uses it instead of just getting on YouTube and watchin the thousands of reviews that compare tech and formulate their own opinions.
  12. Have you ever filled out a form that asked if you were binary or non-binary instead of male, female or "other"? I haven't. I'm just asking questions. This crap is about like common core math to me.....
  13. Wouldn't that technically be three though? Binary means two (male/female) and non-binary would be it's own thing (unless non-binary has more than one group). It's so hard to keep up these days......
  14. The tech is completely different so comparing which is easier would depend on who is using it. If I was choosing between the two, I'd go with Livescope. The real time feedback is just hard to beat.
  15. Like Ryan said, you should be able to log in with your cable/satellite provider on Bally Sports website. The only other way I know is to have at least a choice level package to DirecTV stream. My inlaws have DirecTV satellite due to not having access to decent internet so we use their account to login to Bally Sports on our phones and then cast the stream to our TV with Chromecast or Airplay. Click the blue Watch button in the top right and then it should ask for the login details to your cable provider.
  16. I'm the same way. I'll call it Mallard Bay without thinking and then have to correct myself.
  17. The previous owner passed away in 2017 and the current owners bought and reopened it in 2018 or early 2019.
  18. Mallard Bay and Ravae are the same place.
  19. Ravae is KC, Lazy Dayz is Springfield and Hurricane Deck is the bridge so it's the same for either one.
  20. Ravae RV Park at the 55mm Lazy Dayz at the 45mm Hurricane Deck 35mm I believe they are all $10 to put in.
  21. One of these days I need to go down there. Several guys I know do it a few times a year and love it. That whole $5.15/lbs and having to keep fish you catch is just hard to swallow. I can go to Taneycomo for the money I'd spend. I may just have to use light tippet and let them get away at the net. 😁
  22. I doubt you'll be embarassing many of us but I do hope you are able to get healthy and at least have the opportunity to try.
  23. After 25+ years of watching people at trout parks clean fish, it's obvious that it doesn't take much to impress them. I've had plenty watch in amazement at how fast I can clean my trout. It's second nature to me but a lot of less experienced people aren't very good at it.
  24. The Niangua fish tend to get nicer for us the closer we get to the main river channel. The further up the Big/Little I go the more Gravois/Glaize like it becomes. I've caught some really nice fish on the Gravois, but never very many of them in one outing. Honestly I don't care if I catch a limit of 9-10" fish or 11-12". They all make a pretty good turd.
  25. I've met and fished with several now and everybody has been great. People always ask if I'm worried about meeting randos off the internet to fish with it and I'm like "I've been talking these guys online for years so it really doesn't feel that weird." If you like fishing then chances are pretty high that we'll click.
