Another great read is Many Rivers to Cross by M. R. Montgomery. The author travels the west in search of native populations of trout and dives into the causes of the demise or extirpation of them. Excellent book! Just found it on Amazon again which still shows my book review from 1998🤪

I always liked Take on Me and the cool video with a blend of live action and pencil sketches. The missus knows when that comes on the radio I’m gonna take a crack at hitting the high notes😀 That and Take it to the Limit. It Don’t Come Easy.

We bottomed out at 2 this morning. It's about 16 now and pretty windy. About half the snow is gone on the grass but the piles we made when we shoveled are still pretty tall. I'd guess 12 inches in the biggest part of the piles. -
Yeah, and they've made it clear they're going to err on the side of protecting the QB too.

Slightly warm here. I want a little fat but I don’t want cold fat. The ketchup, mustard, brown sugar glaze in our recipe is first choice to sauce. BBQ sauce next, then plain old ketchup. On toast, light. Some say I’m a picky eater😀 I just dial things in the way I like it. Or the way my missus likes it. I love it when it’s the same.

I would’ve liked that arrangement to get to try a bunch of different stuff.

It's not speed or agility. He just kinda glides around out there and almost lulls the defenders to sleep. Catches the ball and lumbers down the field. I thought his touchdown ball-drop non-celebration was pretty fun.

And the Oscar goes to.... Patrick Mahomes! That fake hit out of bounds was pretty convincing!

Kelce, Hunt, Karlaftis, Mahomes, Spagnolo.

I don’t care for liver either, though I have had it breaded and fried a couple times and it was passable. We used to do a “turkey shoot” at an old Catholic Church in the country. They put out a big spread of chicken livers and gizzards. Loved those gizzards!

That sounds familiar, but I think there was a newer version at the old B&G Roller Rink. But, I may not remember for sure because I was probably high on one of those 3 foot long pixie sticks 🤪

An homage to my big (age, not stature) sister Nancy. A classic first-child-female, my brother and I couldn’t possibly measure up to Miss Perfect. Cooking wise, she took flight in elementary home economics. We experienced many things, especially Beany Weanies. At some point she came across Waikiki Meatballs, probably from mom’s Betty Crocker cookbook. Well, we all liked it and I wrote the recipe down many, many years ago. I made it tonight and it honestly was pretty good. It’s still around and out on Allrecipes if you care. I give you Waikiki Meatballs (less the nasty green pepper):

I was more a Hokey Pokey guy😀

Hey, not to change the subject or anything, but did you guys hear Bob Uecker died?
-
I love the guy! That Hall of Fame induction is a classic. "It was a nativity scene", "three truck drivers", "Shoulda gone in as a player" Don't know if you'll all be able to see this, but saw this one this morning and thought it was great. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=599206636392256

Our dogs have beaten the grass down to almost nothing in the back yard. It's gonna be a friggin mess when this snow melts. I always tell them to wipe their feet before they come in, but they never listen.

Linguine and clams. Trust me, there are clams under there. The missus loves this, easy to do and everything was already in the pantry.

Cracked open the first of my latest batch, made back in August. This one was carbonated, the others were still. All of them have been pretty dry. I’m very pleased with this one. It’s very good now, but it will only improve with age. The missus says I need to start some more. That’s probably the best compliment I could get.

What a mess at the MIL’s place. Apparently they got a new roof last summer. This snow/ice combo exposed the shoddy work. She started getting drips from the ceiling Thursday. When she got back from breakfast Friday a portion of the ceiling had collapsed and she had a couple inches of water in the floor. Fortunately they got a crew on it immediately and got her stuff moved out of the room and into an open room. So she’s in relatively good shape but there’s a lot to sort out. Lots of damaged furniture, etc.

Don't shoot the messenger just sharing and making us think.

If only there was a really, really, really rich guy that's big into conservation. *Real* conservation, not the kind with an admittance charge. -
We got about an inch or two on top of what's left of the 11 inches + ice we got last weekend. It was handled easily with the leaf blower. My poor MIL lives in a senior living facility near here that is dealing with a major water infiltration. According to her there's three inches of water inside her apartment, water into the electrical that has the fire alarms going off, and the fire department in there. Sounds like an absolute disaster. Luckily we'll be able to have her here until this is figured out.

Talked to a guy in Boston today. I asked if he was getting any of this weather. He said, ‘What weather?’ 😀 Boston folks are interesting.
