  7. Every year I get to go it becomes more of the process that I enjoy. The harvest is the bonus or the icing on the cake. Thanks for sharing Phil!
  8. Well good question and I didn't think anyone cared about that. More interested in the good eating Bierocks. So according to @curtisce he shot better than I did claiming he got his limit. I guess this is true as he got his limit of two allowed mallard hens. I did not do as well according to Curt's theory . I only got two mallard drakes and I was allowed four so I only got half my limit. 🤣 As for number of shots taken I'm not going to say. I think I had a better average! ha. Multiple spoonies could of been taken but we opted not to shoot at them. It was fun. Open water was the key. Curt had the plan on getting to the "X" but we were second group into the drawn section and the other group got it. We watched many birds work the guys in the open area. I mean many, many birds work them but birds would work down and not finish up. They shot what they thought they could get and did get a few but for as many birds as they had work I would call our hunt better. We were close enough to them a few birds would break out of the ones over the open water set up and began to work us and finish feet down and back peddling into our spread. Curt may add more input to this but it will probably be bragging on getting his limit !
  9. What makes it worse is being regulated and 65 shots on a fill. This all makes tins of pellets disappear fast. The rabbit Hole is deep I hope I have wedged in there in this spot as to not fall in deeper.
  10. And staying warm, dry with an occasional nap.
  11. This raccoon will actually have a conversation with me. Now I am worried.
  12. Bierocks go way back before Runza's. You can pretty much stuff them with about anything. We make the dough from scratch. In these are a mix of ground venison, cabbage, sauerkraut , onions, mustard , S&P, thyme, malt vinegar and beer. Good from hot to cold and in between. Egg wash on top and we topped with everything bagel seasoning. Bierock - Wikipedia
  13. Bierock! @curtisce we need a blind like @semble so we could of cooked or heated up our Bierocks
  14. Pat has this big fuzzy robe. Says it is comfortable. With the color of it I said she looks like a raccoon. would this be concerning?
  15. As much as I shoot could the air rifle be considered part of my lifestyle ?
  16. Correct I was just giving my friend a poke in the ribs. I prefer the air rifle to the muzzle loader, handgun or the atlatl during that time.
  17. To be political correct you need to say muzzleloader season. Now I cannot get Johnsfolly trying to field dress this guy out of my mind. 🦌
  18. Yes easily have eaten that many. We cook four to five per dish depending on what we cook. I actually started this count on opening day in May and it will end February 15th when season ends. I am looking for 100 for the season. Hawks can feast on something else. Plenty of road kill for them.
  19. Do you mean Fred? I could do something special with Fred and his kin. invite them all to dinner. I took out number 70 a couple hours ago. . Fred would be dead around here.
  20. 43 years together. Got to be some reason. Sure isn't because I had money or good looks so that has to be why?
  21. Let me tell you that honeymoon was fine. Did not take too long to wear out and had to get rid of two of the three. Pat got the long straw
