  1. Actually i think there is a stipulation where farmers can while doing farming practices. They need one of those slow moving triangles on the back of what they are driving. Not supposed to drive them on county dirt roads but everyone does. I have to title, pay taxes and do a license sticker on mine every few years so I think we should be able to at least on county dirt roads. Amish, bicyclers and farmers do not get on my nerves but long haul truckers sometimes do. 90 miles an hour going down a hill . Then on curves and an incline its 40 to 45 mph. Worst part is when you find a place to pass and you are doing the posted MPH on those downhill runs they are on your tail and it can get down right dangerous. They cannot stop if they need to.

    What's Cooking?

I'll do a bundle on this weekends food, Started off yesterday making some Vietnamese spring rolls. Turned out to be brunch. Enough left this Evening will have them again. Then chicken on the grill. Charcoal and apple wood. Charred apricot whisky chicken. We used all thigh meat. Sides of baked sweet potato and slaw, More grilling of protein today. Ground venison with some pork added for the fat aspect. The superstar of this meal was Duck Fat-Potato Galette with Caraway and sweet onions. Dang it was good. Sliced yellow potatoes 1/8th inch thick with the mandolin, same with the sweet red onions. Then the potatoes coated with the duck (goose) fat with the toasted mortar and pestle and ground caraway. Then one layer of overlapping potato slices, then onions, repeat for a total of three layers with potatoes on top. Before, and after, This will become a regular deal . So plated up with tomato slices and bread and butter pickles, it was a good weekend.

Ditto to what the others said. Here is to hoping is comes out negative. If not prayers for the mild case!
  4. It's really weird Mike. Even flats and rings gone. We were looking for more half gallon jars to put dehydrated tomatoes in. I would rather store them that way. I did get a replacement seal for our canner on amazon. It was a couple months back. I did find a second big pressure canner three weeks ago. At a flea market. Same size as the one we have. Asking 15 bucks. Everything was there. The pressure weight and trivet too. Looked brand new. Seal was flexible. I don't think it had been used at all. When I got to the front asked if they would take any less. Yep got it for 12 bucks. Got a spare now.
  5. Just try to find canning jars! Shelves empty everywhere.
  6. Well you cranky old man, You wouldn't be very happy in Amish country either.

    What's Cooking?

The three in front of your wife. Wait a minute you have three right? Now I'm second guessing. Two in front of your wife and maybe the third in the arms of the lady on the right? Three girls you have? I give up. You all eat well though .
  8. Oneshot 3 I am betting.

  13. I wish he would do a little write up of what he did in Sweden or some area of the world. I have slept since then when he went over there and shot me e-mails of his movements. It was really neat.

  20. Nope! If he wore his Carp Camo and was stealthy you would never have known. His fault not yours! Go for it I say
  21. That is a fact. Where we found these it started at 8AM. We were there at 7:45 puling up to the place. Wads of folks there carrying stuff in bags away already. PAt got a birdfeeder and a package of tea towles for 1.75. She spends way too much money 🤣
  22. Feeding the hungry, While out patrolling the garden this morning I seen this box turtle. Picked a little tomato and set it in frot of him. His neck began to streach out, Then he took a step or two closer for a tiny taste, Then it's like this is kind of good and he really got into it, Glad he can't climb . Had a possum getting one or two a night. He is gone!
  23. Garage sales are the bomb for things you need and things you don't. Todays find a set of six nice little bluegill rapala fillet knives. Well maybe a set of steak knives? :). That will be what they are used for! Lady says don't put them in a dishwasher HA. I will sand them down and soak the handles in mineral oil then wipe down. All for three bits (75 cents).
  24. Some men are mean, Some men are bossy, If Wrench lived way back when, He would of fell in love with his big brown horsey.
  25. Awsome! Good for her and you both.
