  1. Thanks buddy. I really need to stay closer and visit more with Micah more. I figure I may need him to haul my old carcass in and out of the marsh someday . I'll ask him more about the dog.
  2. Got a text from Micah this morning. Any of you that have been on OAF for a few years might remember my young friend. If you don't I will jog your memory with this, So to the text. Just finished up this trip. It was a blast. We killed 76 birds in three days, Took my new bird dog as well. Then these pictures. I responded Micah you have no idea how proud I am of you. Then came this text and I lost it. I want to thank you for introducing me to bird hunting. It came at a perfect time as my football career came to an end. I needed a new hobby. I can't think of a better complement to get from a very special young friend. Again, I choke up. I remember when Micah was a little bitty kid and how much his Grandfather Richard would light up talking about Micah. Remember guys we reap what we sow. This is a perfect example. Micah wants to try to come up in January for a late hunt. Oh, how I hope this can happen.
  3. Always on the look out for my friends like to do.
  4. For @oneshot and alter ego @oneshot 1, Others too interested in this kind of stuff too.

    What's Cooking?

@budman Man you have me wanting to try this beer. Did a search through New Belgium. My closest place is in Paola Kansas. From my house one hour and 36 minutes! Dang. Limited release means in limited areas I bet also. Double dang.

  10. Thank you Doug, Have been blessed to fish in some neat places and done it on our own. Completed lots of firsts and goals. Hopefully someone will decide to get a job so Pat will get two weeks off in a row again so we can do another adventure. Wisconsin took some of the edge off but there is noting to compare the West in our opinion.
  11. Well done again DJ. That daughter of yours will never be the same again!

    What's Cooking?

Been awhile since I heated up the sous vide pot of water. Did so today. Venison backstrap section. S&P on the meat and into the bag before sealing couple sprigs of rosemary and thyme out of the garden. A couple smashed garlic cloves too. Then into the 130 degree water for 2 hours. Then we split and stuffed some cubanelle peppers with cream cheese and sharp cheddar cheese. Picked lettuce from garden too. Fired up both charcoal grills. One got the back strap and one got the stuffed peppers. Result was good! Tomorrow will be a fish fry .

  21. We did and wanted to but left it to fate. Hitting the sack looking from bed on screened in porch towards east the full moon was bright. I told Pat wish it would stay right there for viewing later on. So fate happened at three 15 AM had to get up to pee. I rolled out of the bed and heard Pat follow. After doing my thing we went out the back porch and looked up to see it. Neat it was and worth the viewing. Then back to front porch and under the electric blanket. This morning all kinds of pictures on the TV and internet.
