  5. I actually turned off the pellet stove yesterday. This big warm up it got to 78 in the room where the pellet stove resides. We pre buy propane every year so it will be used full time now I suppose if we are finally transitioning to this thing called Spring you speak of . BilletHead
  6. Good birthday for sure Dale and a happy one to you, BilletHead
  7. Oh my gosh Jeff. Little wild brook trout gutted and beheaded. Some rosemary, S&P sautéed in olive oil until falling off the bone. Come on man I am now worried about you . BilletHead
  8. Taken from Coors" Its the water and a lot more" , John there was one creek in the Bighorn mountains in Wyoming. Bull Creek where we hiked up, way up this little stream. Thin and narrow water. Caught some mighty good cutthroat from undercut banks. Got to a wide meadow sneaking along throwing way ahead. We came upon a deep pool. Worked it over before looking into it. No bites at all. Finally approached and peered in to see one large lone brook trout right in the middle on the bottom. We began to drift everything in the box from top to bottom at every level and not a look. 9. He is even in a Podunk Missouri town newspaper , BilletHead
  10. Glad I have an agreement. They are tasty feeding on natural foods. They need to be caught, consumed and eradicated in places where the little invasive is crowding out natives! So there I said it again . BilletHead
  11. What? Not the ones we have found. Either we found dumb ones everywhere we went or we are a super stealthy flyfishing duo. BilletHead
  12. Thanks Phil and grandkids are first. To @duckydoty oh how I wish I would of kept warm and fuzzy hat hostage. Pulled some of the energy out of it 😁, BilletHead
  13. You were Suprised by the channel cat at jig fest too Jeff 😀. BilletHead
  14. Mike, Good question. There may be no arguments but lots of answers. I use a surgeons knot with three to four twists and lots of spit and a slow draw down to seat the knot. With my fat and cold jig fest fingers this worked best for me. Did not loose any fish from knot failure and I would say 50 50 on knot breakage due to snags on junction of braid or jig tie in point. I used 10 nano and 6 to 8 lb leader and did recover some snagged jigs by bending hooks. I know the guys throwing 4 mono out caught me. BilletHead
  15. She says thank you! I say thank you too, BilletHead
  16. Heck we still had a party line on our phone . At least three households on it! I suppose if you listened to your neighbors you may of found their hot fishing spots! BilletHead
  17. Actually I have been working on getting a new TM for some time. This story actually goes back many, many years. We were at Bass Pro on Pat's birthday. Somehow I ended up with a trolling motor that day and ever since Pat asks if she is getting a trolling motor each birthday since. A long running joke and gig at me. So I had been thinking of upgrading for about a year. I knew @duckydoty was familiar with this type of motor and when we fished with him I asked many questions and he explained part of what I needed to know. So fast forward to the Jig Fest we just had. I again grilled Duane for more info. Game changer he said among other things. Duane and I fished together Friday all day and on the way back to lodge when we had signal I called Pat to check in on speaker phone. Then I told her Duane had to tell her something and he took the ball and played it which helped my cause . What a guy ! This pretty much sealed the deal and I think Pat got tired of me talking about it and got green light to order which with out hesitation I did. Proud of myself I shot Duane a text telling him what I had just done. He laughed and said you may be on one cast. When it came up I about lost it. So with baited breath I could hardly wait until my bride made it home from work yesterday. When she got home I told her to sit that I had something for her to watch. I get that "What Now" saying and look. Come on guys you all now that deal 🤣. So very intently she watched then I seen Duane reach into his pocket to check his phone. Then Pat began to loose it laughing and carrying on like this was a plan. no plan it all just came together like a plan. St. Patrick's is her birthday and it is coming up soon so Happy Birthday to Pat ! BilletHead
  18. Besides our commander and chief and his first mate doing one cast pay attention to the text Duane gets about two thirds through the one cast for today. Volume up please . Epic when Mrs. BilletHead got home from work and I told her to watch it, BilletHead
  19. Great picture Brett! Very photogenic you are John. All those fish are special, BilletHead
  20. I relate his kite in a tree like a jig stuck on the bottom of the river, or like the kite in a tree even 🤣, BilletHead
  21. That is a fact and I get some real funny looks when I bust out laughing while saying to myself "what a dumb a**". Folks wonder who I am talking to but I know who I am talking to , BilletHead
  22. Hahahhahhah.
  23. Actually laughs and having a good time is more important than catching a bunch to me. BilletHead
  24. So this statement, how many little ones to count as a single fish? 😁.
