  1. @Johnsfolly, Here is one for you. A state record is awaiting your bait. https://news.maryland.gov/dnr/2019/01/28/eastern-shore-angler-catches-record-longnose-gar/ Slipped back into the waters just for you buddy! BilletHead
  2. Three years ago, Seems like yesterday. That was a fun hunt. Those geese that use that pond were good last two years. This year not at all. My buddy Brad says they are getting smart on me , BilletHead
  3. Got to be very open to accept all types. Even the ones who frustrate you. BilletHead
  4. He is talking about me John . Don't feel a bit guilty abut it either. BilletHead
  5. @Johnsfolly How many times do I have tell you. If these introduced species are not affecting native species I am ok with them but if they are invasive and doing wrong like CARP, SNAKEHEAD, BLACK CARP, BIGHEAD CARP on and on and on kill them all I say. I know for a fact my buddy @curtisce has been and caught Peacock bass in their native range where they really count 😉 . BilletHead
  6. Heck I wouldn't care if you posted the 2nd,3rd or 4th you caught. What number was the snook ? BilletHead
  7. @Terrierman, Good luck Rick! BilletHead
  8. It's not all about your mistake Wrench, What about the other guy that causes the accidental incident that puts you in danger? Lets see how to make this work for LOZ since you fish it. That big wake boat swamped your boat, flipped you out then you bumped your head on Old Plugs log. Not your fault but there you are unconscious with no life jacket. Think of your family, think of us here that need to ask how to fix our Evinrude outboard. Seen that happen but not a heroic event, a stupid decision. Us there up close and personal trying to throw the guy a rope. Sickening feeling, BilletHead
  9. Stockton was generating full tilt. A not so smart guy decided he wanted to try to ride a raft over the dam. ON PURPOSE. BilletHead
  10. Bump for Dayrk, Man I like this thing and see some real potential. Wish I had it for my flotilla. BilletHead
  11. Well Old Plug I hate to tell you but this is pretty normal for your age. I will compare you to my Uncle John who is 80 if not a bit more. He comes twice a year. Spring and Fall. Hauls his boat from the Illinois side of St Louis. He wants to fish while he is here. Most of the time with my 70 year old cousin I am the young one at 60. Well sometimes I draw the straw and Uncle and I fish together. Scary man scary. He looses his balance and falls. One time we used my boat. I let him drive it on the trailer I stop and ask him if he wants off at the ramp. No Ill ride up in the boat. So John want help getting out in parking lot? No I got it he says. I turned around and heard a crash and ooooooof sound. There is uncle John on the ground all scraped up and bleeding all over the place. Glad I had a roll of paper towels to clean him up. We will all be there sooner or later. BilletHead
  12. Hey Old Plug! Mrs. BilletHead is blushing BiletHead
  13. I can see his obit now, Fishinwrench, He took chances. Spun the cylinder in his air rifle with one pellet in it. Rolled the dice testing his fate. Chance finally caught up with him. Survivors are Sugarbritches, his lovley children and is yellow dog Orion plus his many friends and enemies on Ozarks Anglers. We will all miss our resident outboard mechanic. Cremation will follow and he will be buried at sea in LOZ in a small Evinrude outboard. Memorials are suggested to the let bass go where you caught them association and his foundation the be smarter than me club. BilletHead
  14. Thanks guys, Pat and I have been in on a recovery below the low head dam at Caplinger Mills. We were in the same boat BTW. I posted that deal before on here but we forget what we read after awhile. It started as a rescue but became a recovery. Pat and I were the only ones that tried. The only other boat said they did not want to be involved. We pulled the lifeless body into the boat. A big boy. Still do know how how we did it. Got him to shore and on bank where I started CPR. When first responders arrived they hooked him up to the defibulater. It would not let them go any further. Corner arrived and pronounced him deceased. By far I think this is the worst thing we have done in life so far. If we all make better choices maybe we can prevent someone from doing this to all of us reading this. BilletHead
  15. Oh boy Quill! You have opened up a can of worms. I think the ditch pickle fishermen and women would rather have a few hundred stripers dumped in? . Ok shouldn't of said ditch Pickle. Should be Stinkin green fish. Nope wrong again that should be the various varieties of black bass. How would more triploids mess up the system in Taney? It is already managed for non natives that are there because of the dam and cold water discharge right? Not saying what has been done is wrong as the trout are taking place of other fish because of the dam, BilletHead
  16. That's it heard enough, As far as effetely swimming I cannot anymore. With the shot left shoulder it is funny the way I try to swim. Cannot raise the arm above the head now. I can still tread and dog paddle. Going to bite the bullet and get both of us an inflatable. Going to share a story. Many moons ago when I had my very first boat. Tracker panfish special. Twenty to thirty years back. Pat and I were on Truman up close to the dam area. Busy weekend hot and humid. We had fished the morning and decided to anchor swim to shore and mess around on an island. So being in the deeper part of the lake those islands are hill tops. The tip top of those hills. Can you say steep banks? Well had a strong south wind. Wind catches boat, anchor slips off edge and boat begins to float away. I was in great shape back then. We looked at each other trying to decide if I should swim out to get it? I thought surely someone would see it and investigate. No boat after boat went by. We would wave and they would wave back . Boat getting further I decided to swim. I was not gaining ground and getting very, very tired. Enough I was getting scared, scared bad. Looked back to shore and Pat then at the boat said a prayer and worked my way slowly towards the boat. Got to it and so tired I could not lift myself into it. I hung on and Pat and the island were nothing but a dot. After resting got a leg in and rested more. Finally in boat started and back to Pat. I was shaking so hard. Got her in and went back to ramp. I could hardly get out of boat I was so sore, every muscle hurt. Loaded out and went home. We talked very little just held hands on trip back. We have good jackets and use them if we think they are needed. The inflatable would be the thing to have. I cringe thinking back on this, BilletHead
  17. And here he goes again! Whoo Hoo. Like it, BilletHead

  21. Another question, Did they get the boat ramp operational at Tecumseh ? Have not been over there in awhile, BilletHead
  22. Oh man I owe him a gallon of that sauce after loosing one of his megabass on upper Bull 😖, BilletHead
  23. You got that right John there will ducks coming out our ears in the next few weeks as they head back north. The last ones through will be bluewings in their best dressed plumage. Pat and I fish some ponds that they frequent on that trip north. Those drakes buzz us with that crescent moon shape on the head. Honesty I drool a bit when it happens. Speaking of fishing I am so ready. Got a text from one of my friends and forum member Curtise. Picture of a peacock bass and a snook. Dang! BilletHead
  24. Good report and pictures as always John. We did not even attempt it this last couple of days. Lots of ice on local ponds and just not going to fight it. we ended up pretty good number wise but not less than last season. May still get out for more geese but again water will be solid so hoping for a quick thaw just once more! BilletHead
  25. Excellent report Ryan, I love hearing good things going on at Taney. You couldn't have fished with a better guy operating that boat , BilletHead
