Looking forward to results RPS. Trying to decide what's on todays menu. Probably Wednesdays walleye, BilletHead

Since I did not put my own spin on it if I did post a step by step would it be plagiarizing? If not I will do it next go around. It is really good. Guess I could tweak it and post away . Healthy dish except for the chips, BilletHead

Thanks RPS, Actually not my Idea but subbed the plentiful whites we can get into this time of the year. Freshwater fish can be debugged by -10 degrees freezing for a few days. In this case today to do that the white bass fillets are quick cooked. Quart of water with juice of one lime squeezed in and the lime rinds too. Bring to a simmer for a few minutes then add fillets and bring to a quick boil. Turn off heat and drain water and let fish set in the drained pot tightly covered for another few minutes. Take out and let cool as you prep other ingredients. BilletHead

8.5 on presentation. Your pepper job is all over the nice white tablecloth. Your spoon is pre seasoned though BilletHead

You know in the little three pack of solarez there was a tube of the flex. Wednesday I kind of dinged up a fly line. I used the flex on that spot. Liked the results. BilletHead

Old boat needs some love......
BilletHead replied to CAVECLOTH's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Perhaps you can use a pair of open slings spaced out fore and aft. Lift boat off of trailer with a pair of hoists. Roll boat over in slings so you can work the whole bottom at once. Like JD hard to tell without seeing the whole boat. Much easier to roll boat in slings than to actually lift to turn over, BilletHead -
Spring Time Double, Two Seven Pounders.

Congrads Gramps . Sounds like you are getting close to your possession limit. In this case you are allowed to keep this limit, BilletHead -
So this means the bucks in the box I get back? It was COD wasn't it? BilletHead

Good idea, And Amber could push Mrs. BilletHead down to the water in her wheelchair . BTW Mrs. BilletHead is laughing her rear off right now! BilletHead

Thanks, may have to try that. Wonder how durable it is? Way cheaper in the long run at that price too. You have me wanting to grab the balsa and exacto knife. Have more ideas to try. This tribe of tiers in this swap may each get something to test out as a bonus. All you other weenies that did not participate are going to miss out, BilletHead

Marketing ploy Probably. Keeping with the push of equality likely also. I would back more women getting into the sport, children too start them young. Teach everyone and anyone you can. Watching the ladies I have had the pleasure of helping and seeing them light up. Some will never pick up a fly rod again and some I have helped still fly fish. Heck hate to tell you all but I fish with my buddies only because my favorite fishing female is working or cannot go for some reason. Sorry guys she smells better, she can cook and keeps me warm during the Winter. Only down side is it costs me double. Has her own gear and it is hers. I have to tie stuff to order in colors she likes, that and she raids my boxes. It is all worth it and she can hold her own with the long rod. She can back the trailer to launch me and the boat and repeat the process when we get done. Women should be given the opportunity to try and if it sticks so much more the better. When I croak I hope she keeps her love of fly fishing strong, BilletHead

You do tie cool flys and I will like adding yours and others to my collection. Yes to the clear cure goo leaving the market. That is what I started with but I am using what I had left. Got some little tubes of the solarez in a three pack. Thin, thick and flex. Messing with it too. Cheaper and it really goes a long ways. The cure goo thin was nice in the bottle really thin and it would soak right into thread wraps. I did not like the syringe with the thin and thick. Had a tack and needed a cover of hard as nails or wipe with alcohol to get the tack gone. I think I will settle on the solarez thin and invest in a big bottle for all of my UV uses. On my balsa work still liking the 30 minute two part epoxy. Having a hard tome getting it locally. Everything is old stock I am thinking. One side of the double tubes is cloudy and thick. Looks like it is crystalizing or something. Need to get down your way and hit the big hardware store to see If I can find some newer stuff on the shelf. BilletHead

I like those greenbass too. Fun to fish for and catch. Glad they like to eat my flies. I am starting to like the heads more and more. Beats building up heads with UV epoxies. Here I just use a bit under the head and zap it through the clear head and then a coat over the eyes. BilletHead

Warning, The flys sent by BilletHead will catch those pesky stinkin green bass. Well actually those fish are not too smart and they will eat anything. Caught a few this morning. Hey Ness got yours done yet? BilletHead

I nominate this as post of the day! You mean I shipped mine wrong. I did not know you could still ship Cash in Delivery. BilletHead

That deal may work but you may need to wait until tree rat season opens back up. A small baiting fee may be applied and bring your own bullets. BilletHead

Where to go , what to do? Really wanted to make the run to the Spring in Oklahoma for whites but with the wind forecast Curtice and the BilletHead met at the Aldrich ramp and jetted up the river looking for fish. Higher than the last time I was up there. We shot up to a couple of spots for a try. Anchored near a cut bank with some slower water. We rigged up the fly rods. Curt tied on a purple clouser and I a good old pink over white clouser. First cast this is what I got , 18 incher and not too shabby I thought. We casted some more and about ten casts later I had another walleye but came off at the surface. A few casts later I had another,19.5 inches . Funny how they bit. I would cast out and let the clouser swing. Strip back slowly. When I thought I had enough and wanted in I would strip fast to get line ready for another cast. This is when I got my hits stripping fast. We worked over several places. Whites were pretty scarce. I landed one and Curt two or three. It wouldn't be much of a trip if I did not catch something weird, Seen several other fishermen and three of those guys were fellow fly fisher folks. No one was tearing them up. Starting water temps 49 to 50 degrees. Did hit one stretch of 54 on way back to ramp. Most of the day it averaged 52 degrees. A nice day out. Wind was strange in places. We knew it was South West but in places it was blowing up river seeming to come from the North. Air temp started in the fifties and finished out close to seventy-five. Trying to decide if I should do this trip again in the AM? Also Trolling motor acting strange, got a spare that is working, BilletHead

Glad the maters may be salvageable Lancer. Yes Dang weather, all we have outside is the lettuce patch. Doing well. In this picture it looks kind of flat as I had just watered it. Then we have the tomatoes. Only had a few I started early and they are going bananas. This is the third repot and i need to do it again and hopefully it will be the last time. Have more tomatoes coming up, in later but do not think this is necessarily a bad thing. They are now two to three inches tall. Three types of peppers planted same time as last tomatoes. Longer sprouting time just peeking out from starter pots, BilletHead
