Nice going there Ketchup. I can’t get them this time of the year. If the weather keeps cooling down and we get some consistent wind I am going to look for some of them for the freezer.
$4000 is all that is keeping me from getting them.
If you want to read a lot about them, go to bbc.net and look in the electric/wiring/trolling motor forum. They have been discussing it for months.
Plan on spending some time as the last time I looked at it there was like 1500 posts on the topic.
Went looking for spinnerbait green fish. Caught 4 spots on the bleeding shad. Came upon some deeper ledges and tossed a Zero. Caught a spot on the first cast. Forgot about the greenies and chased the spots. Not many keepers but lots of fun. Wound up with 25 spots and 3 greenies. 8:30-2:30.
It has been a long time since I have seen any surface down there. Wouldn’t you know we’d have wind all week long when I couldn’t get away. Now I have a free day and no wind so I guess I will just go down to the Rock and look for some greenies.
Glad they are still hitting it somewhere. It sure died for me at Stockton. I’m hoping to get caught up enough to go to Cape Fair Friday morning for a while.
Several times there has been a bait that I really liked and when a big company took over the bait went away. A few years ago I was cow killing them on a Terminator double bladed buzz bait. Rapala sucked them up and no more bait for me.
Now it is Pradco buying out War Eagle and discontinuing the bleeding shad. I bought up all of the baits and replacement skirts that I could get. I looked all over the web but no more are available so I went to one of my favorite places fishingskirts.com and bought a couple of hundred dalmatian red and chartreuse skirts. So Peadco can take a hike.
Mine is the one with the regular head. I don’t have access to the Screaming Eagle head.
I’ve never had the occasion to argue with one. One is a good friend and turkey and deer hunted with us for several years. Another on used to trap on one of our farms until he transferred to another area.
Some spots dropped by the boat. I invited them to come home with me for dinner. They accepted. I didn’t have room for the brown beans on the plate so they went in a bowl as a side.
