  1. Or he could be real lazy like me and get the Ulterra.😎
  2. Have you considered a trolling motor with spot lock?
  3. The only campers ramp that I know about is at Cedar Ridge. That one is inside the Corps campground. The one at Mutton Creek is inside the campground but it is leased to the Mutton Creek dock not run by the Corps.
  4. Me too. I switched to several years ago. This is the first one that has given me an instant of trouble.
  5. Lowrance HDS units
  6. I thought it was 39° for the lake to begin its turn over because of the hypolimnion being 40°.
  7. Yes Scott and Brad know a lot about them but they don't work on them. They have been helping me trouble shoot and try different options to fix the problem. It has been an ongoing problem for quite some time and I have spent a lot of $ trying to fix it.
  8. I saw 48° most every where I went today.
  9. I took my neighbor crappie fishing today. We tried a few spots and found one that would give up some. We caught 11 before my bow unit went on the fritz. I can barely catch those specs with a depth finder let alone trying to catch them when you have no idea of how deep the water is. Tomorrow I'm going to take it to Clear Cast Marine and see if they can cure it.
  10. Welcome to the forum. We have some good fishing at times around here. Dale Hollow smallmouth would be on my bucket list if I had one.
  11. They were not very cooperative today. Only managed 12, 1 walleye and some white bass. They bit on several colors light dark and medium colored plastics. Most were 25-30' deep. It must have been a tough day as the rouark lot was empty when I left. I think that was a first for me.
  12. Well I have both light and dark colored do-nothins and stingers. I'll give them a shot as well as lighter colors and see if I can get some eaters.
  13. I really don't know much about them but with no wind to speak of I have taken whites off the plate for tomorrow. On cloudy days should one go to dark colors? If so what might be considered a good choice to start the day?
  14. Wow it looks like that baby has spent its entire life inside and well taken care of. Congrats. She is a beauty.
  15. I have had my best luck with Dual Pro.
  16. If you are bass fishing, try getting on cove banks with a spinnerbait. Last week I had 5 keepers with some early good ones on the spinnerbait.
  17. I think I still have it.
  18. I saw about 5 tin boats pull out of the Little Sac at the same time Saturday afternoon. I figured they were headed for the weigh in. What did it take to win?

Good goin'. I was in that area Sunday. What boat were you in?
  20. I took the guy across the street today. We went white bass fishing. He had not done this type of fishing. I loaned him a setup and baits. We started in Sons Creek, then we fished Greaser Creek. It was tough going so we started making our way up the Big Sac. We fished several places picking up a few here and there. We fished all the way up to Turnback Creek and managed to catch 3 black bass two of which were keepers. My neighbor caught the best of those with a smallie that was just under 3 pounds. We hit some places where you could fish a quarter mile and only catch one or two whites. We also hit a place here and there that had some decent amounts of fish. Some of them we double and tripled. Until they would give up no more bites. We worked our way back toward Springfield Cove then headed back to the truck at Mutton Creek. We wound up with 71 white bass for the day. That ends fishing for me for a while as I am having surgery on my left hand and cortisone injections in my right Tuesday morning. So good luck to those of you who get to enjoy the rest of the good fall fishing.
  21. I read about the tin boat tournament at Rouark. I suspected one would be out of Hartley and maybe State Park so I went to the dam. There were very few boats and most of them were walleye or crappie fishing. I worked both sides of the lake catching some spinnerbait fish. When that quit I started toward State Park. I worked my way up the river hitting different types of spots. Cranks worked a little and worms and jigs produced some. I wound up catching 11 with 5 of them being keepers. The best was a greenie about 3.5 pounds.
  22. Wrench the wind is my friend. When it gets to howling for a few consecutive days the food chain is localized. The small boats with less than powerful trolling motors can't stay on the good water which can make for some 200 fish days. I run a 60 inch shaft 36 volt 112 pounds of thrust trolling motor on my Nitro. I can stay until water starts coming over the bow. Sorry to say but not even a 50 fish day on this trip.
  23. No wind only got to fish 3 hours . Wound up with 19.
  24. Managed 40 today.with some of the best ones that I have had this fall. All were shallow.
  25. Mopan I am probably the guy you heard that from when Pommy was lousy with them. Those were good times. Today the south wind took yesterday's banks out of play. Fish were scattered and from 2 to 20 feet deep. Had to cover lots of water. Only windy points produced. Managed 33 whites and 5 blacks in 5 hours.
