I think my hook choice was bad. I'll try lighter wire hooks and hadn't even thought of using a jig hook on a crawler. I have hundreds of jig hooks from #4 to 4/0. How do you think it would work with a # 2 instead of a 1/0? Would that be too small?
I tried them out earlier this week and got hung in some brush piles. Needless to say they are still there.
Is there any way to get the beads and blade back when you break off? I have tried a few ideas and all of them were bust.
Thanks for the responses guys. I have enough tied up to try this type of fishing out and see what happens. I hope to give it a try for a bit on Friday morning.
Do you use a double snell on crawlers or is it necessary?
Can some please school me. I am wanting to learn to fish for walleye. They are "accident" fish but really taste good.
I have read some about bottom bouncers and spinner rigs. I made up some bouncers and am in the process of snelling some hooks and making spinner rigs but don't really know what to do with either of them.
Any help appreciated.
I might be interested in the stuff but really have no use for the assortment of used brass as I like all of my reloads to perform the same.
Are the dies in good shape? About how many rounds have been reloaded with them?
I was there today until the storms came in. I chickened out and came home. I had 6 greenies on a spinnerbait and 1 brown fish on a jig. None of them came from the backs of coves. They were near or on points.
