  1. What kind of lead? What kind of weights?
  2. The last time I fished Cape Fair I got a scummy ring all around the boat. I got the same thing at Cedar Ridge. Yesterday it happened again above Nemo on Pom. I sure hope we get some rain so maybe it will help clear the water some.
  3. Nemo is 6 miles from the dam. Martin’s flat another mile or so. Are you going to be Boondocking? The campground facilities are closed. The pit toilet at the ramp seems to be all that isn’t locked. I did manage a limit of black crappie on my homemade stingers using a 1/16 oz head. I fished in the Lindley and Pomme. All were associated with wood. Some were as shallow as 10 feet while others were right by the boat in close to 30’. I found the surface temp to be 72°. I caught fish on every color that I threw.
  4. I don’t see how it could be with water in the 70s and lots of places with a 30’ thermocline. The water in the Little Sac is nasty. It turned my white braid brown.
  5. No wrap. I had 4 windows in that garage.
  6. You might call Marine Repair Center (417-833-9191) in Springfield and tell those guys (Scott or Brad) what you want to do and see what they recommend. They might even have a good used unit.
  7. I’ve put them on a shelf in the garage and had tomatoes until Thanksgiving.
  8. Does this mean that Table Rock lake will be coming back up?

    Drought?

I have never seen vermin in any compost. I don’t use any other kind.

    Drought?

Lebanon probably has a yard waste recycling center. You might be able to get it there. It might even be free. If it is you might even be able to get it in 5 gallon buckets and haul them in your car.
  11. It’s a big lake. What part are heading to?

    Drought?

No it isn’t bagged. It is just dumped into my farm truck bed. I pay $20/cu yd.

    Drought?

What are you mulching? I quit using straw because of all of the seed germination that I had to deal with. I switched to grass and leaf compost. It covers well, absorbs moisture and puts a slow release nitrogen in the soil. I buy it 2 yards at a time and store it in a bin that holds 5 yards.
  14. If you watch for the wad, you can see exactly where you are shooting.
  15. My mom wouldn’t allow us to shoot them.
  16. I like you make my own heads. I use several configurations and weights. I go with the lightest weight that I can (1/16 to 3/8) depending on the depth. Most of the time it is 1/8 or 3/32. I only use Elaztech worms, Zeros and ZinkerZs.

    Fish roe

They are pretty good but I would rather have steak fries from 500 to 600 pounders.
  18. I’ve fished from a few. They are good for trolling. I’ve never been in one that could be controlled enough for decent casting. I personally have not operated one but my wife owned a deck boat. It rode well and was stable for moving around but the high sides made it impossible to handle in any kind of wind.
  19. I use 12 and 15 # fluorocarbon line depending on which setup I grab.
  20. I only saw one bow rider up James yesterday. It was a man and a woman just out riding around. He was actually courteous. He slowed down to an idle speed both ways when he came by.
  21. I make almost every thing except Elaztech. Break offs don’t cost me much in the scheme of things. Most of our fish were shallow and in the shade.
  22. Bill I don’t know how many colors I have. I buy in bulk. I bought out a mom and pop that couldn’t sell Elaztech. When the Lew’s store quit I bought their inventory. Last month I got 65 packs from a guy that I know who knows a guy. I fish in brush where you wouldn’t send a bird dog on land. When I get hung up I break off. I don’t retrieve baits. When I retie I normally switch colors. You never know which will be today’s magic. Today it was California craw.
  23. My neighbor and I went this morning. We fished above the marina up almost to Carrs. The fish were on a variety of banks and points. We used homemade tiki sticks, shaky head and Ned. We only had bites on the shaky head. We caught fish on every color that we used, green pumpkin, dirt, watermelon red, junebug, Alabama craw and California craw. California craw was by far the best color today. We only boated 23 and they all had one thing in common (their eyes and butts were too close together). We fished from 7:30-1:30. There were several rigs when we arrived. There was only one besides us when we left. The air temp started at 69° and ended up at 93°. The water was a constant 82° everywhere we went.
  24. I don’t remember the last time I saw a 7 year old in diapers.
  25. In the boat and EASILY ACCESSIBLE not in a box with the lid closed. Inflatables addressed. See above post.
