    Cape Fair

Most were from the old metal steps to the big deep cut in the bluff. Some were shallow and some maybe 20’. We were in 30-40 fow with the boat.

Thanks. Several of our fish came from across the lake from your neighborhood.
  3. My neighbor and I fished it today. We went up as far as Carrs. We threw spinnerbaits in skinny water several places and wound up with 4 each (3) keepers. After that we fished our way back with TRDs and Zeros. The Zeros were way better than the TRDs. We caught 25 on the way back (1) keeper. We did have several 14 inchers but also some dinks. Watermelon red, green pumpkin and Alabama craw were the producers rigged weedless on 2/0 wide gap VMC hooks on 1/8 and 3/32 Midwest Finesse heads. My birds showed water temps from 85-90°. The air was 60-95°. The wind was negligible.
  4. Good fish. I’d like to smoke them.
  5. My daughter is that way so I gave her 400 acres, a 3 bed room all brick house, a 4x4 John Deere tractor, a 4x4 Chevy 2500, a 4x4 Kawasaki side by side, and a John Deere riding lawn mower . Now I am a guest not a laborer.
  6. I knew a 92 year old who just died. He absolutely wasn’t ready to go.
  7. Yep your info is newer than mine. I looked it up. They changed the rules in 2019.
  8. You might title the trailer as homemade if it doesn’t have a vin number or mfg plate if you have a friend at an inspection station.
  9. I’m right there with my hand, not to mention the stroke I had 6 years ago. During the shutdown I had to wait months to see my hand surgeon. I had 3 fingers on my right hand that were basically locked due to severe trigger finger. When they reopened he fixed them and I can hold a rod and fish again.
  10. I drive by that place on the way to Cape Fair and had no idea just how large of an operation it is. I went down there this morning. The guy sounded knowledgeable. He listed a few things which could be wrong. He is calling his supplier to check on availability of parts before we set up an appointment. Thanks again for the recommendation.
  11. Why? I have several pairs even some Costas. None of them have glass.
  12. Thanks. I’ll look them up.
  13. I’ve been around some of them. I’m betting it is closer to home.
  14. I wonder what they use for fertilizer?😇
  15. Do you even know the provisions of the proposed legislation? I think you are oversimplifying this. I have always had guns, long guns, short guns, shot guns. This is one of the very few items upon which Blunt and I can agree.
  16. My Nitro trailer slaps back and forth jerking my truck when I hit a bump, go over a bridge or over a railroad track. Greasing the tongue zerks used to fix it but not any more. I don’t know if I need to have the brake fluid bled or replaced or maybe even a new actuator installed. Anyone know what I should do. It is a 2016 tandem axle. Here is a pic of the actuator.
  17. Are you sure you don’t need a urologist?
  18. I’ve used some of that. It wasn’t bad. I’ve had trouble with 6# fluorocarbon rotting so I switched to Yozuri hybrid. I’ve been using it for a over year and just changed three setups out yesterday. I bought it from Amazon.
  19. My S I L had toady free so we came back to your area. We got there as the fog was lifting. We hit some spots heading down lake. Nothing. We ran to the back of Piney…nothing. We moved to rocky (not ledgy) areas and started catching a few. Usually it was nothing or two. We covered lots of water and wound up with 26 bass. Several spots of which 2 were keepers. Several greenies of which 2 were keepers. We had 3 brown fish with 0 of them keepers. Ned was the best. Many colors including white and bubble gum produced fish. The water was 76°. The drawback to the day was the idiots in the wake boat that had to keep coming by us.
  20. After the rain passed and the roads dried, my neighbor and I went for a short afternoon trip. We started on the main lake and some coves. We used spinnerbait, chatterbait, worms and jigs. We never got a bite. I got frustrated and ran to Piney. He started using a junebug Ned and caught 2 immediately. I kept trying other baits. At 5 to 0 I pulled out the Ned. I ended up with 6 and he had 10 bass and a flathead of about 4#. We had 5 keepers. We had 3 spots and no brown fish. All were caught on Ned.
  21. So boat gas doesn’t bother you at all. Nice morning.

    Beautiful Greens

My best friend and I used to leave the house every Saturday morning at 03:30 and drive to Ozark Beach. We were the first to arrive. We used whole kernel corn soaked in balls of fire nectar. We would always take a double limit home and be back to Hurley by 07:30 so my wife could fix fried trout for breakfast. Those were good times.

Most everything tastes the same when burned to a crisp, right?
  24. Launched at Hawker at 9 due to the corps dealing with a medical issue with the launch blocked. I fished in Hawker and Hartley as well as the main lake. Clarity was 2-4’ depending on where I was. I could find no pattern. Some were on points. Some were in coves. Some were on bluffs. All were less than 10’ deep. There is lots of moss on the bushes so I fished outside of them. I had 10 bass with 2 keepers, 2 walleye with 1 keeper, and one keeper crappie. I couldn’t get bit on anything but Elaztech. The color didn’t seem to matter. My birds showed 69°-72° about 3 feet below the surface.
