  1. I’ve used braid to leader off and on for a long time. I’ve used Albright, Alberto, and uni to uni just to name a few. Every single one of them has been prone to break at the knot no matter what size leader that I am using. The only exception to that is the FG. I’ve been using it for several months. So far when I have to break off it has been at the bait. Do any of you guys use the FG?
  2. When I put wood in the stove at 02:20 we were already covered. I’m staying in and burning wood today.
  3. How is Table Rock? Is it frozen over?
  4. I have heard magic eraser works well.
  5. I don’t know about those lakes but I used to know a creel counter who worked Stockton. He told me that less than 25% of the walleye which they checked were born in the lake. The rest had been stocked.

    Hot Sauce?

That is a good one for sure.

    Hot Sauce?

I just had a Jalapeño omelet at the Breakfast Club in Perdido Key that needed some more lick. They only offered Tabasco and Louisiana sauces. Tabasco is like watered down ketchup so I chose the Louisiana. It has way too much vinegar for my taste.
  8. Maybe for you but not for me. I’m heading SE in the morning and driving until I see sand and big water.
  9. So if I am reading this correctly, everyone who responded with the exception of fishinwrench is in agreement that lithiums are the way to go. I am still not sure which to get. I would like to keep it at the cost of 2 31 agms and be able to use my MK single bank charger on it.
  10. Those Lowrances were on my Champion boat and ran off my cranking battery. I had 2 new Lowrances put on the Nitro. They did the same thing. When I switched to Hbirds I bought them at Marine Repair Center and had Scott install a 31 series agm and wire the two bow units directly to it as well as install a single bank charger for it. One battery wasn’t enough.
  11. Are they manufacturing rods now? Ark Rods in Harrison used to build them. I have one that I got from Ark that couldn’t be shipped to B&R because it was marked 7’ and was actually only 6’11”.
  12. I had 2 Lowrance hds units and they would kill a battery graveyard dead inside of a year. That happened on 2 different boats. When I switched to Humminbirds, I hooked 2 of them to a stand alone house battery and they killed it in 11 months. It was replaced under warranty. 11 months later that one was dead. It was replaced under warranty but the distributor said that he wouldn’t replace any more so I put in a second series 31 and have been doing fine. However, last time out I got a low voltage warning and had to shut one down to finish the day. A lithium 100 AH should do the job of 2 agms for about the same or less money and drop about 100 lbs.
  13. No in fact I have 2 series 31 agms running 2 Solix units. They are nearing the end and I am thinking lithium for replacement. The Verado is powered by an X2.
  14. Super nice brown fish. I am glad you got to go. It looks like we may need to find heated bass dock.🤪
  15. I was considering it for a house battery but I saw a video where a guy took one apart. He had done it 18 months ago. They have made cheap changes to it so I am out.
  16. The chickens will like those worms.
  17. Any of you guys have one?
  18. I’m pretty sure that I need to replace my house batteries soon. That is why I am researching and asking questions about lithium batteries.
  19. You can get 24 volt lithiums.
  20. Temp isn’t a problem. My garage is heavily insulated and stays above 50°. I just want information so that I can make a good decision about what to get.
  21. I’m cold any time it gets below 75°. I don’t like it either but that is where I am.
  22. Research has shown me prices from $200-$800. I am in the dark here. Do any of you have lithium knowledge?
  23. Jeff and I waited until 9 before launching. It was 31° with a light breeze. It was also very cloudy which made for a less than comfortable situation. We went down slowly and were blown by some dude in a white Champion, like he was fishing a derby. We hit a few spots on the way down and had a bit of luck. It was too cold to measure fish. Our best guess is 4 keepers, 1 lmb, 1 smb, 2 spots. We had 8 others. The water temp varied from 46-49° depending on the location. The air temp was 31-39°. The sun didn’t come out until 1 and we left at 2. I called the Springfield weather bureau on the way home. They said 40° with an 8 mph wind making a 34° wind chill. No wonder I was cold all day.
  24. Three tag ends??? You must be referencing the Double Pitzen.
  25. Good to see the little man getting it done.
