The best price I have found is the Bass Pro parts in the old house at the corner of Campbell and Sunset in Springfield. 417-887-7334 ask the operator for parts.
LIB I finally found the 18" reference in the 2015 regs booklet. That just goes to show that one should get and read one every year as ignorance is no excuse in the "eyes of the law".
Thanks for the heads up riverrat.
A legal white bass is any size you want to keep for eating. However, you are only allowed to have 4 over 20" because the MDC doesn't think the average fisherman can tell a white from a striper from a hybrid. That is a nice white in the pic, especially if it came from a lake north of Springfield.
I haven't had a good jig bite all year. Early swings did the trick but the last month they have been worthless. I have decided to go back down and stay for a few weeks and see if I can get bit and find a pattern. By now spinner baits are all that I have to throw but not this year. I can't get them to look at a buzz or spook to save my life.
The Little Sac wasn't any better than the Big Sac. I fished up the river from the 245 bridge to above High Point. I managed 15 bass on spinner baits and worms again. I still only could muster up 2 keepers. There was no pattern at all as to where the fish were holding.
That beats what I did on Tuesday. I caught 18 on spinner baits and worms up in the Big Sac. I only could muster up 2 keepers. Most of mine were on bluff ends. I couldn't get a jig bite at all.
I'm going to try Little Sac today.
Both head and holder. I did not much care for what I made up and used on Friday. So I am not experimenting with screw locks and maybe a stand up head, but first I have to order another 1000 hooks as I am really running low. Only time will tell.
I was back in the Little Sac yesterday. I saw a few fish surface in the Master's Area but they never stayed up for more than a few seconds. I was also in the Mutton Creek area on Wednesday and saw no surface action at all.
I use the Elaz Tec worms mostly and have not found a satisfactory head yet. I have 5 different types which I made and am trying out tomorrow to see if any work for me.
I was in the Little Sac on Thursday. We caught over 2 dozen blacks on spinner baits and worms but didn't have a keeper. They were anywhere from 2-20' deep. I took an hour off and fished for whites on the windiest banks I could find. Zip///nada.
That area can be a little dicey at times if you don't know where to look for the shallow spots and submerged stumps. You probably should go down more to the middle of the lake, like Rouark or Mutton Creek.
You are correct griz. I remember it now that you have put it where I can see it.
jw you might also call LeBroc. They may have skins for the seats that you can buy and take it back to like original nes.
The quality was as good as any I have seen. I had her do a seat in my old farm truck last year. She did a great job on it. I also had a guy on Kearney Street in Spfld recover some stuff. I can't remember the name of the place. He was good but more expensive than Karen.
