Have they been reported in Bull Shoals? I saw clusters of mussels on the rocks beside the ramp at Tucker Hollow yesterday. They looked like some of the pics I have seen of Zebras but I saw no sign indicating such.
I fished out of Tucker Hollow this morning. I tried spinnerbaits in Bear Creek but the new water level seems to have changed it. I only managed 2. Then I moved to the state line cove and got 3 on cranks. The last thing I did was use spooks on bluffs. Got lots of blow ups but only caught 7. Less then half of mine would measure.
I just received a Dr Sonar (Doc Samson) map of Bull Shoals. Before I make a 200 mile round trip to try it out, I thought I'd check here to see if any of you have one and how you like it.
I haven't been able to find out a lot about them. Doc normally has a quality product. I've seen some of his instructional dvds and they are quite good. I'm just not sure how much different this will be from Insight, Hot Spots, or my Navionics mapping cards.
I went last fall several times and never caught many. I fished for them this spring with very limited success. I haven't seen any surfacing this summer. That lake doesn't have the population that it used to.
We spent much of our time up in Son's Creek using tops around timber. Some of the spinnerbait fish came off main lake points and some off secondary points. We couldn't catch anything back in the coves and they should already be there.
Fished this am. Caught a few on spooks. The rest were on spinnerbaits. I couldn't get your main lake points to work for me. We caught 18 lmb with 8 keeprs to about 2.5 #. Never had any big fish on or caught any eyes.
Thanks for the report. I haven't been there for a couple of months and have been wondering what was happening. They should be moving into the coves before long. I hope to get down that way maybe on Thursday. I assume the points were the steeper ones. How deep would you say the average fish was holding?
The Pitzen or 16-20 is the knot that I use. It is similar to the San Diego Jam. It will hold on braid, fluro or mono. It is the only knot I use and I can even tie it with gloves on. I tie it with 5 wraps.

Hit Pom yesterday am. There was a good bite for a while. Cranks, spinners, plastics produced best. Nothing on top water, jerks or jigs. A couple of dozen bass with over a limit of keepers. Nothing over 4#.
The Boy Howdy sets with the back low after it is pulled. I like it better than any other prop I have used. Short jerks is what I normally do unless I am in surfacing fish.
There were lots of fish and bait suspended from the top down to the tcline. Where in the heck is Pt. 19 in the Lindley. I don't remember anything greater than 15 and the water is only 10-12' deep there.
Thanks. If all goes well I may get down that way next week sometime.
wrench I have not had my boat above the Cave Hole. How much farther is it up to wading water?
I haven't been in quite a while as I had some minor surgery and have been rehabbing for the last few weeks. I'm thinking next week might be worth a trip but and not sure where to start, ( Pom, Lindley, dam area)?
Are the bass deep or shallow? Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, or jigs and worms?
