  1. That’s as good as two of us did at Cape. Congrats
  2. My neighbor and I went to Cape this morning. The roads were very wet and nasty. We put the cover on and took off. Cape Fair was calm and cloudy with the fog hanging over the top of the ridges. The farther south we went the cloudier it got. The areas where we caught fish last week were empty. We dummied around for 4 hours and had 6 with 1 keeper. We completely changed our approach and got 12 in the next 2 hours. The fog came down with a mist that required rain gear. That left then it started to rain. At 2:00 I put out the fire and called the dogs. The water was 51°. Do overs I stay home.
  3. Kelly Power has one at Branson West behind his boat dealership (Ulrich Marine). Jerry Snider used to have one in Kimberling City he sold it several years ago. I don’t know if it’s still there.
  4. I second the Fin and Feather. I’ve been buying from John for at least 30 years.
  5. I don’t care one way or the other about mt. lions. What I would like to find is some one who can get rid of some very troublesome beavers that are causing flooding in our bull pen.
  6. Is that the vintage when Irwin Jacobs and Gen Mar owned them and the boats could be ordered without motors or trailers or does it pre date that?
  7. I assume that is a pre Brunswick boat. Does it have a Yamaha motor on it?
  8. I am glad you got out. That’s a pretty fish in the pic.
  9. I think the V would be the best hull for what you have mentioned. Along with the Lund and Lowe you might also consider a G 3. Are you going to get a custom cover?
  10. Have any of you guys been to Ashfall Nebraska? Lots of African species. It’s quite a place.
  11. Jeff and I met at 07:30 this morning. It was very foggy and 32°. We fished close by because of lack of visibility. We picked up a few on Ned. As the fog thinned we moved on down the lake fishing a variety of stuff. We worked our way almost to Thompson Hollow. The fish were scattered with just one here and there. We didn’t measure any but few would have been keepers. We wound up with 16. We threw Ned, shaky, jigs and spinnerbaits. Ned was the most productive. All of the fish were on the main lake. The water was 50-53° and there were floaters large enough to get your attention.
  12. Thanks so much. Merry Christmas to you.
  13. Good trip. Sorry I couldn’t make it.
  14. My coldest Taneycomo trip was -5°. I had a fairly new Ranger. The steering was frozen. I took trash out of a can and burned it in the splash well to thaw the steering. It took a while for my Black Max to fire up but it did. We motored from Branson to Pt. Look Out and deployed the motor guide. It took 15 minutes for it to thaw enough for the prop to turn. We saw no other boats and the fishing was terrible.
  15. Wouldn’t do you any good because they ain’t tied up.
  16. It was a heck of a day. It’s been a long time since I have been on that many bass. I used 5 different colors in two brands of swim baits and all produced. Thanks so much for the invite.
  17. What are non English speaking Russians do in your area?
  18. Thanks for the reply. I guess it is just tough right now.
  19. We didn’t fish cranks very much. Lots of slick water and I like a little breeze. I would be interested in getting a report if you don’t mind.
  20. Yes we did. The water color is good and there is very little debris.
  21. Fishing today at Table Rock reminded me of that old movie as it was a bad day at the rock. Jeff joined me this morning. I hadn’t been there in several weeks and knew nothing. We started at a steep bank and Jeff caught a few. I was busy with a sonar unit that wouldn’t work. We struggled all over the lake and never could find a pattern. It was a fish or two then nothing more in the area. Name a kind of place and we fished it. The sky was blue. The wind was light. The water was 62° about 2’ down. We wound up with 20 mostly spots and most of them were sub 15”.
  22. 62° on my Birds in the Cape Fair area today.
  23. Maybe it will be the same on my end tomorrow unless you want me to bring the boat over there.
  24. Last that I saw was 62°.
  25. I’ve used the uni to uni but never been satisfied with it. I’ve been using the FG for 11 months now. I have it on 6 spinning setups and use it every trip with Ned, shaky and swim baits. I’ve had no knot failures which isn’t something that I can say about the many other knots that I have used.
