  1. We didn’t get more than -2 but we also have been without electricity since 03:00 this morning. I can’t get away from the stove.
  2. I have one of them. I didn’t even bother to get it out. It only works on dry snow and then it gets all over me. I am going to let it leave the same way it came.
  3. Isn’t that your old buddy whose putting your wife out of work?
  4. It is 0° here now with a bad wind chill. The good part is we did not get the 10-14” of predicted snow. We probably got around 4” but there are some good sized drifts.
  5. I went there once and that was enough.
  6. I too am so ready to get back on the water. In the meantime I’m getting ready for the next few days. I’m putting 150 seasoned sticks of wood in the garage. That should last 8-10 days and hopefully we’ll be snow free by then.
  7. I guess I should have been more explanatory about the baits. What I was aiming at was something along the line of molded plastics (flukes, tubes, trailers, craws, swim baits, etc). I’m not really interested in a jig swap. I have two lifetime supplies of them.
  8. Our long range forecast says 10 days before decent temperatures (30s to 50s) return.
  9. The fly rod guys are having a swap. Do any of you guys make anything that you would want to do and have a different kind of bait swap?
  10. Marty I used to start all kinds of plants out there when I had about 4,000 sq ft of garden but I am down to some asparagus and 5 tomato plants. When I worked in Springfield I had south facing windows in my office and grew tomatoes during the winter.
  11. I’m not liking it but I can make do as long as I don’t have to get out often. I have wood heat in the sun room. When I checked it at 01:30 it was 96° on the sun porch where the stove is setting. It is 85° out there right now.
  12. My suggestion is contact Lakeview, Bull Shoals Marina or Pontiac Marina and inquire about guides. That’s way farther down lake than most of us go.
  13. What area of Bull Shoals? Eric Prey guides out of Branson
  14. Yep and closed caption couldn’t keep up. I can’t remember the last good Super Bowl halftime show that I saw to say nothing about the bad commercials.
  15. Jeff met me at 07:00 this morning. We went to the good swim bait spot and caught some nice keeper and close to keeper spots on swim baits. We worked our way up river and picked up a few more. We wound up catching 6 each and had 4 keepers. Most of the fish were caught on Keitech swim baits in 15-25 fow. It was a beautiful breezy day. The temp ranged from 39° to 75°. The water was from 40° to 46°. It looked like a Saturday in May with boats everywhere. There were 26 rigs on the lots and I met 8 more on the way home.
  16. We catch them at Stockton also.
  17. It was a hard day with few bites but it did warm up and it was sunny. With the temps we have had it was good to get out. Thanks for the invite.

  19. That was out Mill Creek. I think that those were weekend warriors at Cape. They all had to go down because of the ice up the rivers.
  20. X3. Bill knows trailers and their repair.

    Samaje Perine. Go Chiefs.
  22. I haven’t been fishing on a Saturday in forever. It was cold and foolish me thought there wouldn’t be many down at Cape. We were 6th to launch. When we go to the good spot a boat was on it. We pulled up to a bluff and a boat pulled in ahead of us. The next place had 2 boats several hundred yards away so we fished toward them. Another boat came along and pulled up in front of us. It was that way everywhere we went. With all the boats running around one would think it was May. When we left Cape there were 25 rigs on the lots. Now I remember Saturday. BTW fishing was tough.
  23. What is TWRA?
  24. Good for you. Happy birthday present to yourself. Those are some nice specs.
