I knew the guy from Okie that was leading after the first day wouldn’t sleep well Saturday night. If the sun was out on Sunday, the big cruisers would’ve been out and he might’ve held onto his lead, but with the inclement weather we had I knew he would get beaten.
That lake seems to fish much better in the rain. As soon as the wind and clouds picked up we went to a wind blown shore and caught our best fish of the weekend on buzz baits. Three bigger fish than his 6.1 were weighed in on Sunday.
Nice looking jigs!
Keep in mind that you cannot base your jig colors on half digested craws barfed up in the live well. The gastric juice of a Bass always makes the craw turn orange.
I’ve got three cookers... a Weber Kettle, a gas stove, and a Traeger. I rarely ever use the gas stove anymore. The Weber is better at cooking steaks, because you can sear with it. Most other things, like smoking and cooking fish, I do with the Traeger.
The way I understand it is that wrapping the meat helps retain the moisture.
Edited to say that the way most people wrap now is using butcher paper instead of foil because they say the smoke penetrates it and still gives you a smokier taste until the end. If you wrap in foil, you might as well finish in the oven if you want because the smoke can no longer penetrate obviously.
I’m smoking a brisket for the entire clan today. Got up early and put it on the Traeger. Went to my wife’s Alumni awards dinner last night at Webster University. Very diverse crowd. Enjoyed the food 🥘.
Look up GraphMasters on FB. Rick Fishback is a good dude and knows how to use these better than anyone I’ve seen, and has won several tournaments lately to prove it.
They have floating plastic with ultra tiny bubbles made out of some material like glass. Very bad to breath 🤨 but you can buy the floating plastic with the stuff already mixed in. The rest would be easy
