  1. Not that I have time to go fishing at Taneycomo anytime soon.... I would say forcing people to fish the same weight jig that wasn’t matched to the line weight would be going against the intention of the contest. The rules should be more like. 1. Any size jig and line you want 2. No fish under 14” counts 3. Total weight of best 5 fish wins 4. Fried Walleye and Cheesecake to the winners!
  2. You are the pink worm whisperer!!
  3. Fair enough. Like I was telling Seth, If you’re striving for a perfect fall rate on a perfect sized jig, I would ask if 4 or 6 pound test with a slightly heavier jig wouldn’t accomplish the same thing. You would obviously at least double the breaking strength of the line. The other question I would ask is with a slightly heavier heavier line would you only have half the amount of strikes? If you’re fishing for stocker rainbows, yes...I understand the 2 pound test. I’m sure the generation plays a huge factor as well. I would think the more generation the less likely line diameter would make a difference. Question for Duane, what size does he use for his sculpin pattern jerk baits? Everyone has their own version of what they are fishing for. I wouldn’t want to risk losing a big fish because of light line. By the way, I give Al crap about his 8 pound test on the Meramec!😂 Also, I was under the impression you couldn’t fish plastics on Taney up by the dam?
  4. Seth......1 Phil, spaz1729.....0 Use bigger line and a heavier jig to produce the same fall rate.
  5. This post brought me out of my posting retirement. I’m going to go right back into my posting retirement as soon as I’m done with this post. A guy from Taneyfest or Jigfest or what ever you call it catches an over 30” brown and loses it. 3 hours later the same fish is caught again with a 12” rainbow shoved down his throat. And you still fish 2 pound test??
  6. It’s now officially on Amazon as well. Just search for “Tackle HD Hellgrammite”
  7. I think it would work well!
  8. You are a smart dude Old plug!! A larger size Hellgrammite will be out this spring. Maybe a smaller as well.
  9. We’ve had a couple of fall tourneys won with them on lakes. Since it’s new, we will find out soon!
  10. I haven’t forgotten you!! 😉
  11. The new Tackle HD Hellgrammite is now available at: www.tacklehd.com They will also be on Amazon within 2 weeks. Thanks for your support!
  12. Wiggle warts pivot in the middle and don’t have any action in the belly hook like others (baby 1 minus and others) but they work good with a tail skirt. Regarding Al Agnew...He is specifically known for 2 lures. One, is his own remake of the Shannon Twin Spin, the other is the plug with the belly skirt. He has tweaked them for as long as I’ve known him. Knowing Al and his attention to detail, he has undoubtedly found the best method for each of these through years of testing/perfecting. I’ve seen his belly skirt lures auctioned off for $75 each. Rather than question his judgement maybe you guys should listen.
  13. I believe that was his bathhouse a couple of weeks ago, but not sure
  14. I’ve spoken to Bo about this before....I’m puzzled why I haven’t seen many bigger smallmouth taken out of Table Rock over the last ten years. Has something happened to the fishery in your opinions? You would think a 6 pounder would get weighed in with all of these tournaments all year long. I guess the lake ain’t what it used to be and we are living the new normal?
  15. Congratulations! That’s really a fine buck! You should be proud!!!
  16. Marty gave me a popper several years ago. After inspecting the absolutely beautiful and perfectly made popper, I figured that Marty is the rare kind of guy that can do anything thing he wants. Great Job Sir!
  17. You got it Pete!
  18. I’ll take that as a “I like it”?
  19. It has lifelike action, should be available in December
  20. Good looking jigs Sir!
  21. Helluva 20” smallmouth Scott, in ultra clear water that’s a feat
  22. Imagine how many big ones like that follow a bait and you never know it.
  23. That’s a good method to use if your fish suffers from fish eye disease... his eyes are too close to his tail!
  24. Sorry to see you go John! You’re one of the good ones!!
