I agree with Hammer Time that, even though we are a shadow of what we once were, we are still the best Country in the world. But I also agree with Bo. As Ronald Reagan said, the freedoms we have are never more than one generation from being taken away.

I've seen so much of it I'm getting jaded. Had a retirement age dude and his wife cut me off to a crappie spot. Trolling motor only lake, I was at 50% speed and he was at full blast with that determined look on his face. His wife was visibly embarrassed by what a jerk he was. She's smiling and making small talk, he's scowling at me. Oh well, take your crappie you old fart.

I think (especially with an iPhone) the size of the pic is too big to post top up. What I do is, when viewing the picture you just took, you can edit it and resize before you post. When you click the paper clip to attach a pic, you can see if it's upright before you post it.

Spot on! That's why I always preferred the Gasconade type smallmouth, a genetically long sleek smallmouth. When one of those gets fat, it looks nothing like that South Dakota fish. It's kind of like an F-15 Eagle vs the F-18 Hornet (My old McDonnell Douglas coming out). -

I totally get what you're saying, but I guess that depends on water depth. For very shallow water, engaging the reel when the lure hits the water is fine... but If you're in deep water and engage your reel when it first hits the water, it will pendulum back and end up no where near the target you were trying to hit. I'm more of a line watcher myself. I'm not saying wait until it hits bottom, but there is a best time to engage.

FWIW, There is a big time LOZ tournament angler (aint gonna name names) who's full time job is an adjuster for an insurance company. He walks the lawns of his lake front clients so he can be "very thorough at his job", Oh, and while he's there, he spots the biggest females, from his optimum angle point of view, on the spawn beds and knows which beds to fish on tourney day. What do you call him? is he a genius, using all available information legally? or is he getting an unfair advantage and cheating? you make the call.
