ALLSTAR- I'm about as conservative as they come. I'm in the camp that climate change is not NEAR as bad as they would have us believe. I'm for Keystone......but for me, fracking is a different story all together. Anytime your messing with the substructure, you need to proceed with extreme caution.

I don't know what Black river bust you're referring to? I put up 14 myself, and those fish were the lucky ones. The problem is , that after all the photos and information was turned in, we were finally told the truth. Which was writing citations for illegal gigging was way down the priority list. Ronnie is right, nothing will change on this front until they put more value in stream bass.

Well, here are some of our "Feelings" regarding illegal gigging, (That's all in our heads). Can you figure out how to input these feelings into an equation so it will become science? We've turned these pics and others in to the MDC before and nothing happened.

True statement. Bottom line is their base line is inadequate over a broad range of streams. So, IMO, They don't have enough data to make accurate decisions. I'm not part of the "Screw the MDC" bandwagon at all, BTW. We are being asked to comment. I'm skeptical, to say the least, whether it's being duly noted. At least they are asking for comments, which is better than nothing.

You call it an over simplification, ok. The MDC can never convince me that its statistically so rare to see a 20" smallmouth. I've seen it with my own eyes. In the winter, these fish are in certain spots, and each good spot could hold several fish that size, especially 15 years ago. The best approach is for me to just send MDC my comments and hope it falls on the right persons desk. Someone who uses common sense along with his statistical algorithms. Arguing with the MDC employees on a forum who use fake internet names doesn't help convince anyone.

Not sure how you come up with that conclusion??? Do you have evidence of this? Do you think we are making this stuff up for our own enjoyment? After every gigging season, we find dead bass, large ones.

It's as if they are resigning themselves to the fact that that a 20" smallmouth is an unachievable goal, that's why. We know different. I've never seen a 100-year-old man as healthy as some of these 20 inchers that I find.
