    What's Cooking?

I hope Ronnie, I'm feeling a little insecure about the sealing of the bag, so I triple sealed it. We'll see how it works out. After eating a dry aged Ribeye from Flemings in STL, I knew I had found steak nirvana. We have my company's Christmas party at Flemings every year. As soon as my wife tried my Dry aged steak, she took my plate and I had to eat her prime Ribeye. Now all others seem pretty common. I guess I'm becoming jaded now and am a snob. Oh well.

Alright, here goes! My first attempt at Dry aging a whole rib eye roast. 28 days later, April 9th, I'll cut the Umai-Dry bag open and remove the bark. Then I'll report back!

    Ouch

I was driving back with my business partner from Wichita two weeks ago. With my business partner driving, I started to notice a dull pain around the right side of my back. Within an hour or so, I was throwing up in my car, racked with a wretched pain. Even though I've never had one, I knew exactly what it was. Both my father and brother had kidney stones in their late 40's, I always kind of figured it was destiny. I remember driving my father to the ER when I was around 16 years old. Him laying in the back seat moaning absolutely scared me to death, because at the time, we didn't know what it was. My brothers came on almost immediately, mine took about an hour to get to max pain. When I reached an ER in Blue Springs, I was at my wits end. The pain was as though someone was screaming in your ear and no one else could hear. The check in process was very annoying to say the least. As soon as the IV was attached they pumped me full of a delicious warmth of medication. Three days later I passed it....by the way the last "few" inches were almost a non issue, which was different than I've been told. Let's hope this doesn't happen again! The next day I sheepishly went out of town for 11 days, I haven't had any follow up issues. I leave to come home tomorrow!
  15. They're certainly not a magic bait, I use them a bunch because they are what I'm used to. I just think fish can get tired of looking at a standard jig and pig somtimes.
  16. The only thing I've caught that was weird in my life was a Hellbender on a crank bait. The crank was stuck to his face by his mouth but I kind of doubt he went for it....I think I just snagged him. But he was big and fat. My buddy was afraid he was going to attack us (ha ha) and got uncomfortable when I brought him in the boat. I told him he was a wimp?
  17. I believe it's rough fish central, but my buddy did get spooled. My guess it was an Asian Carp that he snagged.
  18. So Buford didnt know it wasn't bass season? Imagine that! "You aint throwin that'in back, I hope"
  19. Yeah the "bouncing the Huddlebug slowly" was the ticket. Most fish a jig too fast. again, great report and I can tell from your post you know what your doing.
  20. Very nice!
