  1. Close enough to post right? Would 7-9 or 14-16 work better for everyone?
  2. The first time I fished the 11pt was a birthday float with my wife from riverton to myrtle. We camped on a gravel bar and had an excellent float.
  3. not surprised at all. They are still available.
  4. I dunno if Justin still gets on here, but @Justin Spencer guides regularly on the 11pt, he has been still catching fish, just maybe not as much.
  5. I remember seeing that ad in the mid 90s and convincing one of my parents to buy them for me. They really worked good and had great action. My dad bought some helicopter lures, the only thing I ever caught was a giant bluegill out of a pond. the flying lure on the other hand is maybe the best dock-fishing bait ever made. not only does it skip forever under a dock, but then it goes away from you once it starts sinking. The guy that invented it was really smart. I bet they would be excellent in rivers for getting under laydowns and stumps and things if you were prepared to lose a bunch.
  6. The biggest thing that gets me about these pics of your boy fishing tourney's is that he is in high school! Lord I am getting old
  7. I dont fish nearly enough to give a solid review but to be honest the only issues I have had with my ulterra were user caused.
  8. The mountain home one is ALWAYS busy. I believe this one was not bought by TSC. I can't see it closing down, it gets tons of business.
  9. Yeah wish I would have had time. crawfish are coming into season in SETX. I actually bought it in Lumberton which is a little north of beaumont.
  10. Yah we fished just below it a few times that day.
  11. yah it was cheap enough that my wife didn't even complain🤣
  12. The wife and I drove to Beaumont Texas this weekend to rescue this 2013 topwater 2150. It came with three like new new seats for $3500. Apparently the guy who had it lived in flippin but moved back to Beaumont to be with house family and never used it
  13. The pizza at norfork brewery is excellent imo....but maybe becase I have only had it with a pint.
  14. You will have to pay a premium for headless shrimp. everywhere sells them with heads on. If you want to fish from the bank I suggest fishing for speckled trout in grand isle.
  15. For sure pick where you want to focus on then you shouldn't have any issues finding a rental.
  16. nissan's have ween way downhill in the past 15 years. all of them anymore have CVT transmissions which are junk.
  17. The level has been seen but not the flow I suspect. pretty sure it got to 100k once though.
  18. Mine are on spider stands, I just fold them down. they never try to fold up or anything. IMO for the money they absolutely cannot be beat. I use one in my kayak and can fish all day in comfort.
  19. Weird, I looked at it again a second ago and it looks like they are generating two units and no spillway. A glitch in the matrix?
  20. Thanks for the post. I just checked their website and it looks like they have one unit going and about half a unit in release, around 4800cf/s. more than I want to fish in
  21. Awesome, we ate the leftover backstrap last night, the kids loved it.
  22. Man we were watching generation on norfork all weekend hoping they would run water in the mornings with no luck. glad you got some fishing in.
  23. That would be great, maybe next year
  24. This was one for the books for sure. We had food for 20 people for sure. I wasnt hungry once all weekend for sure. Friday started out rough. We went to Wildcat and the water was about perfect, but I was having fuel issues and it took forever to get up to the narrows. I fished down towards the ramp, catching a few small fish then decided to load the boat up to figure my issue out and found the fuel filter housing was disgusting, and the fuel filter(pictured) was clogged. The filter was unavailable locally so my friend dustin soaked it in acetone while I cleaned the housing out and we slapped it back together. The guys moved to rim shoals in the mean time so I went down there and fished solo and really whacked them. I had several back to back catches and a couple triples even. Friday night we had @LittleRedFisherman amazing catfish and @JestersHK cooked some awesome backstrap. I had some of my local friends come down and we had a great time. Saturday started out as a lazy day. Rick cooked the absolute best breakfast, pan fried back strap and for sure the best fried taters ever. It was raining pretty hard and no one was feeling like doing anything with the rain so we sat around until it more or less quit then went to white hole and motored the 6 miles up to the dam to fish(below the closed section). fishing was spotty, best fish we caught all day were two basically identical 16"-ish browns. Sunday @JestersHK and I went to the state park and the river is empty, which was way better than saturday. We launch and use the trolling motor to go across and immediately start catching fish and nailing them for a couple hours before they got hip to our game and quit biting. Overall great time.
